Fuel cells which are electrochemical devices have gained popularity in last three decades as an alternative energy resource. Especially PEM fuel cells (proton exchange membrane or polymer electrolyte membrane) are one of the most developed fuel cell types and use in transportation (automotive) applications. Bipolar plates (BPs), on the other hand, responsible for distribution of reactant gases and collect of current in PEM fuel cell stack. Flow channels mill on bipolar plates for the purpose of distribution of gases to the fuel cell system. these flow channel patterns can be different types such as parallel, serpentine, grid, spiral, cascade. In addition, bipolar plates manufacture from graphite materials usually owing to its superior features such as high electrical conductivity high and corrosion resistance. Besides, they can be manufacture from metallic plates, alloys and composite materials. In present study, carbon/epoxy laminated composite BP models were prepared with four different flow channel patterns (parallel, serpentine, grid and spiral) and four different stacking sequences of reinforced plies. After, the effects of fibre orientations and flow channel patterns on the carbon/epoxy laminated composite BPs were investigated numerically under thermal loads. Deformations of the models and the stresses on the models were evaluated. ANSYS® is used to model the laminated composite models and to perform numerical thermal analysis. Warping of the BPs was determined by benchmarking intact and deformed models and the optimum flow channel pattern.

Surface electromyography (sEMG) has often enabled operators to generate electrical muscle signals in order to control robotic arms or prosthetics. Alternatively, sEMG has recently been employed to control other types of equipment such as computer keyboards, which indicates that sEMG-machine interfaces can be a means of controlling actual automobiles or computer-simulated automobiles. therefore, the current study pertains to a sEMG-controlled virtual car in a PC platform driving simulator. A method is proposed for implementing a sEMG-machine interface that controls the steering of the virtual car.

Classroom lighting is one of the essential factors in learning process for students in a university. there are two types of lighting available to apply inside a classroom, i.e., natural and artificial lightings. this research aims to simulate classroom lighting management technology concerning Indonesia National Standard SNI 6197:2001 using Dialux software. the simulation result shows that the applied artificial lighting inside E11-210 room had not followed the standard yet, in 350 lux. the existence of both artificial and natural lightings has made E11-210 room were excessive in light intensity, despite successfully obeying the standard. this paper uses lamp power modification to optimize the light intensity efficiently without to infringe the standard. this paper also presents the potential benefit of implementing power modification in saving electricity usage costs for 56.94%.

In this method, we propose computational technique of Screw-Antisymmetric Periodic Boundary Condition (SAPBC Method) on local, non-cluster update algorithms of Isotropic square lattice Ising model of Monte Carlo simulations, as well. the SAPBC Method, actually, is an extended mixed method of Screw (helical) and Antisymmetric periodic boundary conditions beyond connection from of nearest neighbor spin of the main lattice to even far away block of the outer (foreign) neighbor spin arrays. Here, meanwhile of description of geometry exact details of method and way of spin interaction, have applied to critical slowing down in order to achieve more convergence of spin correlation at critical temperature. Actually, in general, at critical temperature algorithms performed by using SAPBC Method have faster correlation and much shorter autocorrelation time than algorithms performed by using PBC Method. We will also see that autocorrelation function for the typewriter Metropolis algorithm was found to be zero at high temperatures. For low temperatures it fell to zero and stayed there. the SAPBC Method also confirms and consists with the law of the spatial correlation length with its dynamical critical exponent. therefore, it can be used as a trenchant method applied to boundary conditions of Monte Carlo simulation problems extending on a variety of other models such as XY-Pots-Heisenberg model and also cluster algorithms such as Wolf, Swendsen-Wangas, Hoshen-Koppelman as well.

Increased vehicle safety is a driving force in the development of Connected Vehicle (CV) and Automated Vehicle (AV) technologies. Unlike traditional in-vehicle safety features, CV and AV technologies help avoid catastrophes all together with advanced warnings of impending danger and beyond human reaction times. Although extensive efforts are underway in the creation of CV and AV technologies, it is still unclear what the best methods are for alerting drivers to the new information they generate. For example, how should an AV keep passengers informed of where it is going and what corrective actions (e.g. lane changes) it plans to take, and how do we design these systems to engender passenger trust. this paper presents a multi-phased approach to address these issues through simulation for future evaluation and development of multimodal vehicle displays for ease of use and increased safety

In order to strengthen employees' safety awareness and reduce the probability of occurrence of employees' unsafe behaviors, an ABMS-based model was built for emergence of employees' safety awareness. Applying the software of Netlogo and adjusting the values of agents variables such as employee, manager and organization, effect of social environment on employees' safety awareness was simulated dynamically. the research results show that employees' safety awareness is an emergent phenomenon influenced by multiple agents, and that different agents affect employees' safety awareness differently-the agents, ranked in descending order, are as follows: education level, safety training level, emotional intelligence of managerial staff, and the importance the enterprise attaches to work safety;but effect of public opinion on employees' safety awareness has bidirectionality.

the swaging process is commonly used in head stack assembly, which is a process that is undertaken to either reduce or increase the diameter of tubes or rods. In the head stack assembly process, a swage boss engages with an arm hole of E-Block. Current hard disk drives have very small tolerances, requiring the swage effect of new hard disk drives to be reduced to as little as possible. In this study, finite element analysis (FEA) was used to reduce the swage effect. At present, FEA and investigative tests indicate that a significant portion of gram changing through swaging is caused by E-block tip deformation due to swaging. Deformation of the E-block tip is the result of unbalanced swage forces between the tension and compression suspension. Achieving optimization concepts leads to a new swage plate design to reduce the gramload change of the target and to equalize the swage forces. the FEA results found that gramload change of the target decreased by 35% on the tension side, and by 65% on the compression side through swage by boss tower. the HGA torque out was not different. the suspension flange was also studied. Subsequently, suspension manufacturing is able to bias the suspension as incoming HGA. the flange deformation might be closer to zero after the swaging process.

At the Department of theoretical and applied Mechanics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of St. Petersburg State University [1] the theory of motion of nonholonomic systems with linear nonholonomic constraints of high order n>2 was created. the high-order constraints are considered as program and ideal ones, and their reaction force is considered as the required control force. A consistent system of differential equations with respect to unknown generalized coordinates and Lagrange multipliers is constructed to solve the problem. the report examines the motion of Soviet satellites of the systems "Cosmos", "Molniya", "Tundra" after fixing the values of their accelerations in apogees. this corresponds to imposing the nonlinear second-order nonholonomic constraints on the further motion of satellites [2, 3]. the equations of constraints are differentiated in time and presented as linear third-order constraints to make it possible to apply the above theory. the motions of satellites are studied in polar coordinates, the origin of this system coinciding with the center of the Earth. It turns out that after fixing the acceleration values in the apogees, the satellites begin to rotate between two concentric circles, alternately touching each of them.

this paper investigates the influence of human factors on the evolution of inter-firm trade network emerging from bankruptcy. In particular, we concentrate on a local interaction mechanism, conceptualized as triangle structure, within the inter-firm human network. An agent-based model is employed to explore the effects of triangle structure-related properties in both real inter-firm human network constructed from empirical data of thousands Japanese firms, and artificially generated ones. the simulation results confirm the influential role of triangle structure-related human factors in bankruptcy: it not only enhances the benefits that firms can obtain from their inter-firm relationships, but also provides firms with few business partners the equal chance to survive in the bankrupt emergency.

An important role in maritime patrol is played by the unmanned surface vessel (USV). By modeling the navigation environment of a USV, the ant-cycle model is then incorporated into the ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm to output the best way for USV patrols. By setting different patrol points for simulation experiments, the ACO algorithm shows good convergence and merit-seeking ability than other methods. © 2023 IEEE.
