the 'Hybrid Predictive Dynamics Method for Digital Human modeling' is used in this work to analyze the dynamics of a human performing a "Drop Jump" task. the 'Hybrid' prefix mentioned in the literature recently [1] refers to the use of motion capture data for improving human motion simulations. this use of motion capture compensates for the inherent weaknesses of purely theoretical motion prediction due to deficiencies in computational power or available theoretical backgrounds. In this work, using motion capture data, an optimization based 3-D motion tracking of a human model performing a "Horizontal Drop Jump" is presented, as the first step in the simulation/prediction of such a motion. Based on the evaluation of the motion, dynamics properties of the motion are calculated which include ground reaction forces, joint torques and metabolic energy. the human model starts in a standing posture on top of a small box (low elevation from the ground), while jumping down the box, he changes his posture into a ready to jump pose with his two feet on the ground in-line and parallel to each other. After a brief recoil, he accelerates his center of gravity in the upward and forward direction and lifts off from the ground with an initial velocity in the same direction as his past acceleration. In the air, he will have a projectile motion and then he lands in his final position. the human model is a 55 degree of freedom (DOF) robot defined by Denavit-Hartenberg parameters. the base of the model is considered to be the hip point of a human. the orientation and position of this base in the global reference frame is defined by 6 DOF (3 position and 3 orientation). the robot includes 5 open-loop kinematic branches all originating from the base of the robot and ending in left hand, left foot, head, right hand and right foot. the remaining 49 DOF of the robot are revolute joints used in these 5 branches. Engineering design and system operating comprise highly innovative and knowledge-intensive tasks in the design of an eco-industrial park. Efficient information exchange and communication among distributed parties are very important for a business to succeed. Building a well-structured framework for data/information streamlining and processing is an urgent task in order to achieve further process simulation and optimization in the eco-industrial parks. this paper presents a study of ontological representation for an eco-industrial system, and its deployment on a knowledge-based software platform. the contributions of this work include: Firstly, an ontology model for the relevant chemical process is built relying on the ontological framework provided by OntoCAPE. Secondly, a surrogate modeling method is adopted and implemented for the industrial system. Finally, a Graphical User Interface (GUI), acting as an operating platform, is developed based on the proposed software architectural design. Recently offshore wind power have developed rapidly. As the mainstream generator of offshore wind farm, permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) has been increasingly applied in offshore wind farm. the operating performance of PMSG based wind energy conversion system (WECS) depends on the performance of control system, which relies on the accurate measurement of phase-locked loop (PLL). this paper propose a modified PLL scheme to improve system stability. A DC-link voltage relaxation control strategy is also applied to obtain a fast response and lower over-voltage level, which can lead to better control performance and reduced cost. Small signal stability analysis as well as simulation results verified that the optimized system have greater stability and better performance. © 2019 IEEE.

It is remarkable that drivers (on average) can safely navigate through dense traffic at high speeds-conditions in which the time headways between vehicles are in the same order of magnitude as human reaction times. One explanation for this is the ability of drivers to anticipate on the traffic conditions in their surroundings. In this paper, we study, through simulation, the effects of reaction times, errors in perception and anticipation on the probability of accidents on freeways. To this end we extend an existing model for car following and lane changing with a perception and anticipation model inspired by Ensley's three levels of situational awareness (perception, understanding and projection). By systematically varying driving behavior with different reaction times over a range of perception errors, and anticipation strategies, we compute efficiency effects (capacity and total time spent) and safety effects (the probability density of accidents happening as a function of these different contributing factors and errors). the results provide some evidence that safe driving is robust with respect to perception errors under simple anticipation strategies and small reaction times. When reaction times grow larger, more advanced anticipation strategies are needed to guarantee safe driving.

In this paper, we present an algebraic approach for beam dynamics simulation in linear and circular accelerators. A two-and three-dimensional distribution function approach is employed within the matrix formalism for Lie algebraic methods and computer algebra codes. Implementing software design provides the code rather good maintainability, reusability, and extensibility. this approach is an alternative to well-known Particle-in-Cell approach. But it can be easily applied to the PIC-approach and thus to make better their effectiveness. As a required demand, the code also include symplectic integration methods (based on a correcting procedure for aberration matrices) up to an approximation order. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. Force classification during robotic interventions through simulation-trained neural networks

Purpose Intravitreal injection is among the most frequent treatment strategies for chronic ophthalmic diseases. the last decade has seen a serious increase in the number of intravitreal injections, and with it, adverse effects and drawbacks. To tackle these problems, medical assistive devices for robotized injections have been suggested and are projected to enhance delivery mechanisms for a new generation of pharmacological solutions. In this paper, we present a method aimed at improving the safety characteristics of upcoming robotic systems. Our vision-based method uses a combination of 2D OCT data, numerical simulation and machine learning to classify the range of the force applied by an injection needle on the sclera. Methods We design a neural network to classify force ranges from optical coherence tomography (OCT) images of the sclera directly. To avoid the need for large real data sets, the network is trained on images of simulated deformed sclera. this simulation is based on a finite element method, and the model is parameterized using a Bayesian filter applied to observations of the deformation in OCT images. Results We validate our approach on real OCT data collected on five ex vivo porcine eyes using a robotically guided needle. the thorough parameterization of the simulations leads to a very good agreement between the virtually generated samples used to train the network and the real OCT acquisitions. Results show that the applied force range on real data can be predicted with 93% accuracy. Conclusions through a simulation-trained neural network, our approach estimates the force range applied by a robotically guided needle on the sclera based solely on a single OCT slice of the deformed sclera. Being real-time, this solution can be integrated in the control loop of the system, permitting the prompt withdrawal of the needle for safety reasons.

the possibility of producing linac-based high-intensity sources of high-energy bremsstrahlung (> 10(15) photons/cm(2) s) and photoneutrons (Up to 10(14) neutrons/cm(2) s) holds much promise for the use of these sources in various branches of applied nuclear physics (medical isotope production, transmutation studies of nuclear-cycle long-lived by-products, testing materials for long-term immobilization of radioactive waste, etc.). An accelerator with an energy of >= 30 MeV, beam power of > 10 kW and the highest possible beam-current density appears appropriate for the generation of secondary radiation with the required parameters. However, the electron beam handling presents some thermophysical problems on account of high power absorption in the accelerator exit window, the bremsstrahlung converter and the target. therefore, each of the technologies mentioned demands optimization of both the geometry and design of the exit systems and the accelerator beam parameters. this report offers some solutions to the problems mentioned by means of computer simulation based on GEANT and PENELOPE systems. the codes developed are supplemented with data on excitation functions of the corresponding photonuclear reactions. At present, with the normalized control of epidemic prevention, the development of cold chain logistics is facing many new requirements. In view of the primary problems existing in the cold chain logistics process of aviation, such as nonstandard structure and process redundancy, the research background is in post-epidemic era. the time-delay Petri net modeling method was applied to model and analyze the aviation cold chain logistics process, and the correlation matrix and ECRS analysis method were used to optimize the model. Eventually, combined with the actual logistics operation of an airport, the time delay parameters were set for the model. Before and after the model optimization, Tina software was used to simulate the model, and the simulation results were analyzed to provide viable suggestions for the optimization of aviation cold chain logistics process. © 2023 SPIE.
