Transparent slide detection, pick and place automation are obtained in order to boost speed, accuracy and smooth workflow between slide coverslipping and digital scanning operation in digital pathology. Fully automatic, precise, robust solution has been developed by robotic arm using computer vision and image processing techniques. Magazine (slide holder) and gripper design, camera selection and mapping to robot base coordinate system are all guided. Python based software algorithms for slide detection and 3D position determination applied in dynamically changeable environment are also explained step by step. Complete automatic process control method is implemented and tested for different types of slide.

In fields like robotics and factory automation (FA), an ultra-low delay vision system has emerged as a critical tool. this system processes videos at an astonishing 1000 frames per second (fps), with each frame being processed within 1 millisecond (1-ms). Camera pose estimation plays a crucial role by providing real-time and accurate spatial information, enabling rapid response and precise control of production processes in such systems. Existing works mainly focus on general purpose use (60 fps) while less of the focus on specific use (1000 fps). this paper proposed an ultra-low delay camera pose estimation method designed to meet the stringent requirements of modern $F A$ systems. the spatial constrained and candidate expanded parallel matching is proposed for accelerating 3D-2D matching process. Spatial constrain utilizes the tiny movements between adjacent frames to shrink the search range to decrease the probability of matching conflicts. And candidate expansion increases the candidate matching points to guarantee the quality of matching between 2D and 3D spaces, which increases parallelism and enhances efficiency of the 3D-2D matching process. Experiments are conducted using a 1000 fps camera with resolution of $640 \times 360$. the proposed method demonstrated robust performance across horizontal, vertical, and random camera movements, achieving an average Relative Pose Error (RPE) of 0.5 cm for translation and 0.4 degrees for rotation respectively.

Scheduling is a common decision-making process that plays a vital role in many manufacturing systems and information processing environments. Usually, all jobs in a scheduling problem need to be dispatched, and the objective function is related to the state after all jobs are completed. However, in order to balance the contradiction between the cost and the performance, many practice scenarios no longer require processing all jobs. the scheduling problem that only considers the completion of part jobs is referred to as percentile scheduling problem. In this work, we pave the way for it. We study and theoretically analyze the two percentile scheduling model of the multi-parallel machine environment, considering there is a release time or not. We propose an algorithm with a guaranteed approximation ratio for the model without release time to reduce our problem to the counterpart in the classical scheduling model. For the model with release time, an algorithm named CONVERT is designed, which combined with SRPT can produce a scheduling sequence with an approximation ratio of 6.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology is considered as a key feature for 5G and B5G systems because of its extensive spectrum resources. Accurately and timely estimating the channel state information (CSI) is critical for guaranteeing the effective signal transmission. In this paper, we propose an algorithm called Sparse Accelerated projection consensus (SAPC) to estimate the mmWave massive MIMO channel in a parallel computing way, which should be suitable for FPGA and ASIC implementations. Also, SAPC takes into account the sparsity of the channel to reduce the complexity.

Linearization of nonlinear functions is a common strategy that researchers use in many practical optimization problems due to existence of more powerful linear programming algorithms. In this note, an approximate technique for linearizing the polynomial term obtained by multiplying two continuous variables is studied. A constructive demonstration of the linearization technique is presented in detail which helps to show that the previously claimed upper bound on its error of approximation is incorrect and may therefore lead to solutions that are not accurate enough. Furthermore, to prevent misuse of the mentioned technique, we determine the best upper bound on its error of approximation.

In current computer performance evaluation, linear mathematics library is an important test program and matrix multiplication is its main calculation part. Matrix multiplication algorithm contains multi-layer loops and can be parallelized flexibly. It is very suitable to run on multi-core processor with vector registers. With the popularity and application of ARMV8 vector processors in the field of high performance computing, the peak performance of processors is required to be higher. In this paper, we propose a double precision general matrix multiplication DGEMM vectorization method based on OpenBLAS and implemented on Phytium processor. the main work includes: the data block size is optimized for the storage structure of the processor and the data rearrangement is redesigned; based on the SVE vector instructions, a mathematical model is established to find the optimal kernel function size; an efficient assembly kernel is realized by using computing instructions to hide the memory delay. the experimental results show that the optimized code improves the measured performance of OpenBLAS original DGEMM algorithm from 45.07% of the theoretical peak performance of single core to 80.18%.

Graphics processing Units (GPUs) are increasingly deployed in security-sensitive domains, but their parallel architectures introduce vulnerabilities enabling side-channel attacks to steal sensitive data. Recent works have shown feasible timing, contention, power, and access pattern side-channel attacks against cryptographic implementations, randomness protections, and other workloads on GPUs, highlighting risks of intellectual property theft, cryptographic key extraction, and spying. However, existing academic defences remain inadequate in systematically protecting real-world shader execution. this research aims to design, develop, and evaluate a secure GPU shader execution framework incorporating runtime monitoring, anomaly detection, and response mechanisms for commercial GPUs. the methodology involves implementing and assessing the framework against simulated side-channel attacks on shader benchmarks; this can help secure emerging GPU adoption in sectors like finance, healthcare, and government against rising data breaches.

Stock price prediction has garnered significant interest among researchers and investors. Machine learning has shown great potential to produce accurate forecasts in the past few years. this paper has applied several machine learning techniques to develop a valid forecast consisting of linear models and various artificial neural networks. We have tested our models on the daily EURUSD pair dataset from the foreign exchange market and the daily S& P 500 dataset from the US stock market. Lastly, we have generated a fair comparison between different models and defined best practices for each domain. Our results indicate the efficiency of the linear models on the EURUSD dataset. Moreover, although deep neural networks have the best performance in predicting the exact price of the S& P 500, we found out that the ARIMA model can forecast the direction of the stock price better than any other model.

Natural language processing with computers, i.e. NLP, is increasingly gaining ground in today's IT. the purpose of this study is to analyze the articles published in the NLP topic and to summarize it from several aspects, especially with regards to the development and practical application of the technology. the idea of NLP as a technology was not formulated in the 21st century, but already in the 1950s, relevant research was carried out and theories were created regarding how a machine can become capable of interpreting human speech. Technology has come a long way from simple algorithms to Deep Learning, but it has not yet solved the problem of machine processing of natural language. the research has confirmed the idea that mathematical modelling and models based on statistical probability dominated the field in the early days of the discipline and before the advent of computers. However, despite technological progress, no solution has yet been found to the comprehensive and all-encompassing problem of natural language processing with computers. To determine the future research area of NLP, we need to take into account the text files on which the technology is based. From this perspective, we can focus on the insurance and banking sectors, where a series of administrative processes take place where centralized paper processing is the incoming data set of the process and a database going back several years may be available.

High-performance architectures have complex features so that reliable production of parallel software is beyond the reach of many Computer Science graduates. Compilers alone cannot guarantee the highest performance and multiple APIs with complex performance features are difficult to master. As a first step towards more comprehensive solutions we are building key elements of a pre-compiler system that will automatically produce predictable, scalable and high-performance code from declarative tensor expressions. In this paper we summarize and analyze a large set of timing experiments of matrix multiplication variants that are mapped to vectorized and multithread code. the analysis covers two high-end target architectures and exhaust a whole space of code, compiler, pragma and parallelism parameters. Our analysis shows how the best choice of parameters is produced from a small set of tests that can converge in a matter of seconds and then predict performance of larger instances to within 25% or much less. Inefficient choices of parameters is also shown to be reliably predicted from small tests, so that our design for a precompiler is guaranteed to be a realistic and portable tool. the generality of our mathematics of Arrays tensor algebra, and very broad applicability of tensor operations (signal processing, scientific computing, AI, etc.) supports our claim that these experiments and design can be generalized to a general purpose parallel programming tool. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
