Civil Aviation's Radiotelephony Communication (CARC) in China involves Chinese and English. Due to the particular grammatical structure and pronunciation of CARC, the universal cross-lingual acoustic model isn't applicable. For the purpose of achieving the Chinese-English speech recognition of CARC, this paper proposes a cross-lingual acoustic model using a shared-hidden-layer Convolution Depth Neural Network (CDNN) with hidden Markov model. It introduces the Convolution Neural Network (CNN) to overcome the diversity of speech signals. In order to shorten the training and decoding time, the Low Frame Rate (LFR) is added in the feature extraction stage. the experimental results show that the acoustic model based on CDNN is better applied to the domain of CARC. the introduction of CNN can further improve recognition performance. Adding the LFR effectively reduces the training time and the word error rate.

Image processing and pattern recognition offer a useful and versatile method for optically characterizing drops of a colloidal solution during the drying process and in its final state. this paper exploits image processing techniques applied to cross-polarizing microscopy to probe birefringence and the bright-field microscopy to examine the morphological patterns. the bio-colloidal solution of interest is a mixture of water, liquid crystal (LC) and three different proteins [lysozyme (Lys), myoglobin (Myo), and bovine serum albumin (BSA)], all at a fixed relative concentration. During the drying process, the LC phase separates and becomes optically active detectable through its birefringence. Further, as the protein concentrates, it forms cracks under strain due to the evaporation of water. the mean intensity profile of the drying process is examined using an automated image processing technique that reveals three unique regimes- a steady upsurge, a speedy rise, and an eventual saturation. the high values of standard deviation show the complexity, the roughness, and inhomogeneity of the image surface. A semi-automated image processing technique is proposed to quantify the distance between the consecutive cracks by converting those into high contrast images. the outcome of the image analysis correlates with the initial state of the mixture, the nature of the proteins, and the mechanical response of the final patterns. the paper reveals new insights on the self-assembly of the macromolecules during the drying mechanism of any aqueous solution.

In last few decades, a growing interest in the domain of evolutionary algorithms has been observed due to its performance in discover the optimal solutions for the complex problems. the Genetic Algorithm (GA) is one of the most used evolutionary algorithms that attract the researchers' interests in many fields such as the physics and mathematics. GA can provide optimal solution for the problems of complex environments i.e. polarize environments. Like other evolutionary algorithms, the execution time of GA is relatively long, whereby the optimization processes could consume many hours. this study aims to improve the optimization accuracy and reduce the execution time of traditional GA. the parallel GA is proposed to conduct the optimization processes through distributed machines or processors (network of processes). the original complex problem is divided into sub-small areas, and each sub area is optimized by sequential GA that applied in each processor in the network. the final solution is collected from all processors in the network in order to decide the best final solution. To evaluate the proposed parallel genetic algorithm, two complex problems are optimized;De Jong's and Ackeleys path functions. For testing purpose, a network of four processors is constructed using MATLAB toolbox distributed system toolbox. the significances results show that proposed parallel GA give better results with less execution time than the traditional or sequential GA. the contribution of this study is the segmentation of large and complex area into small area and optimizes the solutions of the small areas using network of processors. this approach simplifies the optimized problems, reduce the execution time, and give better chances to discover the optimal solutions.

the safe operation of converter transformer, whose major insulating structures is comprised of oil-pressboard composite insulation, could be the important guarantee for the reliable power transmission of HVDC system. Due to the presence of DC voltage operating condition, the interface charge accumulation could fail the validity of RC (Resistivity-capacitance) simulation model in the insulation design and optimization. thus, there has been arising the research focus for the electric field and interface charge characteristics of oil-pressboard insulation structures. Kerr electro-optic effect method, benefiting from the non-contacting laser measuring approach, has been widely adopted for the electric field measurement. However, the common experiment platforms by using Kerr electro-optic effect are mainly based on single-point photodetector indicating. the present paper developed a high-sensitivity photodetector array to accomplish the synchronous and regional measurement for electric field distribution in oil-pressboard insulation with a parallel-plain electrode under DC voltage. the electric fields in oil show a quite uneven distribution characteristics when voltage is applied, and the maximum deviation from different measuring photodiodes could reach 16.6%. With the time prolonging, the electric field in oil tended to decrease, but there witnessed different field strength reduction in different positions in oil, the maximum rate could reach 41.1% with a saturation time of 2960s, while the minimum one is 32.1% and 2530s, respectively. Such witnessed great differences in both distribution and time-dependent characteristics of electric field in different measuring photodiodes were explained by the non-uniformity and anisotropic of resistivity of pressboard. Hopefully, the experiment results in this paper could provide meaningful technical supports for the insulation design of converter transformer.

Verification of programs continues to be a challenge and no single known technique succeeds on all programs. In this paper we present VeriAbs, a reachability verifier for C programs that incorporates a portfolio of techniques implemented as four strategies, where each strategy is a set of techniques applied in a specific sequence. It selects a strategy based on the kind of loops in the program. We analysed the effectiveness of the implemented strategies on the 3831 verification tasks from the ReachSafety category of the 8th international Competition on Software Verification (SV-COMP) 2019 and found that although classic techniques - explicit state model checking and bounded model checking, succeed on a majority of the programs, a wide range of further techniques are required to analyse the rest. We consider a version of parallel machine scheduling with rejection. there are m machines and n jobs, and each job is either accepted and then processed by one of the machines, or rejected and then a rejected fee is paid. the goal is to find a way of partitioning the set of jobs into two subsets, the subset of accepted and the subset of rejected jobs, the subset of accepted and the subset of rejected jobs, and to schedule all the accepted jobs to m machines such that the sum of the makespan and the total rejection fees of the rejected jobs is minimized. In this paper, we focus on a special case of this NP-hard problem where the processing time of each job is a power of 2. We show that if one more condition is satisfied, namely, if the ratio of rejection fee and processing time of each job can be indexed in the same way as the order of processing time, then the problem is polynomial time solvable. We therefore present an efficient algorithm for this case. Our result is also applicable to the case in which the processing times are the powers of q, where q is a positive integer.

this paper presents different aspects of parallelization of a problem of processing color digital images in order to generate linguistic description of their content. A parallel architecture of an intelligent image recognition system is proposed. Fuzzy classification and inference is performed in parallel, based on the CIE chromaticity color model and granulation approach. In addition, the parallelization concerns e.g. processing a large collection of images or parts of a single image.

In this paper, we propose a method that automatically extracts terms defined "characteristic terms" from several patent documents belonging to a certain technical field. the characteristic terms extracted by our method are useful for technology trend analysis. For example, in the case of patent documents relating to an organic electroluminescence (EL), the characteristic term is a word that expresses the characteristic of the technology shown in the patents, such as " Luminous efficiency (hakkoukouritu: luminous efficiency)" or " Luminance (koudo:brightness)". Finally, our method was evaluated and as a result of that, good results were obtained.
