C++ advocates exceptions as the preferred way to handle unexpected behaviour of an implementation in the code. this does not integrate well with the error handling of MPI, which more or less always results in program termination in case of MPI failures. In particular, a local C++ exception can currently lead to a deadlock due to unfinished communication requests on remote hosts. At the same time, future MPI implementations are expected to include an API to continue computations even after a hard fault (node loss), i.e. the worst possible unexpected behaviour. In this paper we present an approach that adds extended exception propagation support to C++ MPI programs. Our technique allows to propagate local exceptions to remote hosts to avoid deadlocks, and to map MPI failures on remote hosts to local exceptions. A use case of particular interest are asynchronous 'local failure local recovery' resilience approaches. Our prototype implementation uses MPI-3.0 features only. In addition we present a dedicated implementation, which integrates seamlessly with MPI-ULFM, i.e. the most prominent proposal for extending MPI towards fault tolerance. the paper presents parallelization of the boundary element method in distributed memory of a cluster equipped with many-core based compute nodes. A method for efficient distribution of boundary element matrices among MPI processes based on the cyclic graph decompositions is described. In addition, we focus on the intra-node optimization of the code, which is necessary in order to fully utilize the many-core processors with wide SIMD registers. Numerical experiments carried out on a cluster consisting of the Intel Xeon Phi processors of the Knights Landing generation are presented.

We consider the Incremental Strong constraint 4D VARiational (IS4DVAR) algorithm for data assimilation implemented in ROMS with the aim to study its performance in terms of strong scaling scalability on computing architectures such as a cluster of CPUs. We consider realistic test cases with data collected in enclosed and semi enclosed seas, namely, Caspian sea, West Africa/Angola, as well as data collected into the California bay. the computing architecture we use is currently available at Imperial College London. the analysis allows us to highlight that the ROMS-IS4DVAR performance on emerging architectures depends on a deep relation among the problems size, the domain decomposition approach and the computing architecture characteristics.

Self-driving vehicles are considered to be safer than those driven by humans. Since they are always aware of what is happening around them and focuses on all the details. But to be really safe and respond to all the events happening around the drones need to process information and make decisions in the shortest possible time. the challenge is to teach how to drive a vehicle without human with the help of deep learning power using visual data from the cameras installed on the machine. the problem is to process the amount of data in the real time. the study of the occupational thermal environment must take into account the need to obtain acceptable conditions in terms of health and comfort. the aim of the present study was to evaluate thermal comfort in a meat processing industry. Measurements of temperature, relative humidity and air velocity were carried out for all workstations. Measurements (N = 21) were performed during 5 min, for each thermal amplitude, with the presence of the worker after analyses of workers clothing. After the measurements, "Predicted Mean Vote" and "Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied" were calculated, for a subsequent proposal of prevention and protection measures. the results demonstrate the need to implement preventive measures to mitigate possible health effects for workers exposed to various thermal environments (design, organizational, material/structural, personal protection and medical surveillance). In conclusion an inadequate thermal environment can rise to psychological discomfort, absenteeism, reduced productivity, increased frequency of accidents and physiological effects.

Ergonomics plays an important role in occupational safety, productivity and occupational diseases. For this reason, the creation of the auxiliary equipment or the machine and the work place designs to improve human life quality and working conditions is necessary at every area where manufacturing is made. Musculoskeletal System Diseases (MSDs) constitute 50% of new cases in occupational diseases. Unproper postures and ergonomic inadequacies in repetitive work activities in the formation of these diseases which may be painful during work or at rest are the main factors. Ergonomic improvements made are not only protect from occupational diseases, but also provide job satisfaction. this study has been carried out in a dairy-processing machine manufacturer where labor-intensive project-type manufacturing is conducted according to the customer orders. Human continues to be the most important element of manufacturing in this industry. So, ergonomic problems were determined by observing the all manufacturing process and suggestions were made by RULA analysis to improve existing problems by considering anthropometric data.

In 2016, Kobe Tokiwa University constructed an office for institutional research (IR) promotion. the purpose of this office is to propose, manage, arrange, and collect information on students at the university not only as a general management strategy, but also to support enrollment management. Our database currently contains 3,495 points of data (i.e., headcounts), each containing 1,246 items of numerical value. Last year, we reported on an analysis that focused on the "student dropout" phenomenon by using these data from both current graduate and dropout students. this year, we formulated a research question that is centered on predicting the probability of students' progress and academic abilities through Enrollment Management / Institutional Research (EMIR). We obtained results with these data by processing them through a machine learning technique using random forest, which yielded a correction rate of about 90%.

the power system load demand is extremely prejudiced by thermal inertia caused by weather parameters. this influence even became stronger when there are vast and rapid changes in the weather parameters. therefore it is necessary to consider the weather changes for a precise short term load forecasting (STLF). this work proposes a hybrid technique for conducting STLF during periods with substantial weather changes. the proposed technique is based on support vector regressing (SVR), grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA) and a novel Euclidean norm (EN) based data processing unit. Here GOA is utilized for accessing the appropriate SVR parameters. the EN based data processing unit is applied for fixing the training data by assessing some alike days in the recent historicized days. the proposed GOA-SVR technique identifies the substantial changes in weather (temperature) and regulates the training data accordingly. this work is done in North-East India and the proposed technique is tested on the data of load dispatch center of Assam state. three case studies are conducted and forecasting performances of the proposed technique are compared with the conventional technique of training the system with just recent historicized day's data. the proposed technique found outperformed the conventional technique in all cases. In order to realize the linear nearest neighbor(LNN) of quantum circuits and reduce the quantum cost of the linear reversible quantum circuits, a method ofsynthesizing and optimizing linear reversible quantum circuits based on matrix multiplication is proposed this method shows the matrix representation of linear quantum circuits by proposing the matrix representation of the CNOT gate and the SWAP gate the rule ofjudging whether a twoqubit quantum circuit is in LNN state is proposed the LNN realization by adding SWAP gates is proposed and the equivalence of two ways of adding SWAP gates is proved the elimination rules of SWAP gates between two overlapped adjacent quantum gates in different cases are proposed, which reduce the quantum cost of quantum circuits after realizing the INN architecture We propose a particular algorithm to realize the LNN, which can effectively reduce the quantum cost and improve calculation efficiency by inserting the SWAP gates on parallel computing devices. Experiments show that the quantum cost can be improved by 34.31% on average and the speed-up ratio of the GPU-based algorithm can reach 4 times compared with the CPU-based algorithm.

the paper describes a methodology to obtain reliable and robust initial estimates of satellite position which is independent of satellite and receiver anomalies. In this method, range observables are processed using a projection based elimination of satellite and receiver dependent unknowns. A set of satellites and receivers are selected such that each satellite in the set is visible to all receivers in the same set. Satellite positions are then computed for each set using differential correction, resulting in multiple estimates of position for a single satellite. A screening methodology is applied which select positions with the statistically lower biases and analyze the resulting positions. the advantages of the method when compared to double differenced observables are, baseline selections are not required and estimates have a lower error correlation. However, the above constraint on satellite visibility for each receiver results in lesser data epochs sets in the case of MEO orbit. this is not seen in GEO/IGSO orbit based satellites where receivers have visibility of satellites for almost the entire day. this method is developed for control segment processing centers of GEO/IGSO satellites which are required to provide position estimates of the satellite in broadcast navigation data hours in advance.
