Various job scheduling algorithms have been developed in the field of high-performance computing to enhance the system utilization, minimize job waiting time, and ensure the bounded slowdown. the optimization of job scheduling strategies mostly relies on resource demands and job characteristics. Job scheduling algorithms, including Backfilling, mostly depend on accurately estimating job runtime which remains a great challenging. In this paper, a regression and classification parallel prediction based online learning is proposed to improve backfilling algorithm. the data set of job characteristics was filtered and reduced, and then trained separately on regressor and classifier in an online learning framework. the effectiveness of our strategy, along with two additional backfill strategies, was evaluated using a scheduling simulator called Batsim on three widely-used HPC cluster datasets. three metrics, namely average waiting time, average bounded slowdown, and program scheduling time are adopted in this paper, and the results show that our algorithm achieved a significant 50.6% reduction in average bounded slowdown compared to the EASY backfilling algorithm, as well as a 6.63% reduction in average waiting time compared to the regression-based EASY backfilling algorithm. © 2024 ACM.

In this work, we propose a self-supervised learning model based on the transformer framework, using it to impute missing data in multivariate time series. Unlike selfsupervised learning models in NLP and CV fields, it always trains a huge pre-trained model, which can fine-tune the model well in other datasets in the same field. Our Multivariate Time Series Based on the Maksed AutoEncoding model (MTAE) uses the position encoding and mask matrix that are more suitable for missing time series while keeping the general framework of the transformer model unchanged, which can take standard time series information into account. Also, our change can note the change in time delay caused by missing data. Finally, we validate the imputation results of MTAE on two different time series datasets and obtain better evaluations than other machine learning models with a missing dataset rate of 90%. © 2022 IEEE.

As soon as foreign substances like bacteria, fungi, chemicals and viruses (antigens) enter a human body, a protective protein (mostly Y-shaped), known as an antibody (immunoglobulin G - IgG) is produced by our immune system. But antibodies are not that much effective against viruses. Because viruses tend to mutate that leads to change in their shape which disturbs the necessitation of shape complementarity which limits the effectiveness of the antibody. Coronaviridae is a family of viruses that are responsible for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection which is a contagious and serious viral infection. these spreads breathing of viral drops coming out of coughing and sneezing of infected persons. Touching of infected surface is also a prime cause of infection. Vaccines tend to train and prepare our body's immune system to recognize and fight off the infectious foreign bodies when they enter. After vaccination, if the antigens enter our body later, our immune system will be immediately ready to destroy them to prevent sickness. Lot of factors like vaccine inefficiency to different variants of existing viruses, age factor, denial of vaccination and previously existing illness make the issue still critical. To face this deadly, alarming global challenge and to prevent the future coronavirus outbreaks, various scientific communities have been toiling in multiple diverse studies about this newly emerged virus. In this review, we underline and summarize the recent research findings involving the SARS-CoV-2's structure, character, lifecycle, its target, finding out antivirus drugs (mainly S-protein of SARS-CoV-2 is targeted), inhibitors, a protocol to identify anti-COVID-19 candidates, detection of efficient and approved vaccines etc. © 2022 IEEE.

the evaluation of technological properties of products of physical and chemical industry using mathematical modeling tools is complicated by the lack of a sufficient resource and computational base, due to the need to perform a series of computational problems for different initial data. Effective in this case is the organization of a remote computing system using a high performance server. An urgent task in these conditions is the development of unified methods and algorithms for the organization of a remote computing system to simulate the processes of the physical and chemical industry. In addition, the proposed approach contributes to the formation of a unified database of laboratory and computer experiments, which will make it possible to solve promising problems in the use of neural network technologies in problems of chemical kinetics. © 2022 IEEE.

In the modern information society, image has become an important carrier of information, and there are a lot of information transmitted in the form of image on the network. As a basic and important task in the field of computer vision, image segmentation has broad application prospects in many fields. In this paper, a three-stage image segmentation model is proposed. the first stage in our framework is to perform a dimension lifting method. An intensity inhomogeneity image is added as an additional channel, which results in a vector-valued image. In the second stage, a convex variant of the Mumford–Shah model is applied to each channel of the vector-valued image to obtain a smooth approximation. We use the scalar auxiliary variable (SAV) algorithm to solve this model and prove that the SAV for solving this convex model has the unconditional stability. In the last stage, we apply a thresholding method to the smoothed vector-valued image to get the final segmentation. Finally, the performance and advantages of the model are verified by numerical experiments compared with other models. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

With the development of the mobile communication, how to provide better quality of service for users' task computation needs through the mobile edge computing(MEC) of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a hot issue. therefore, this paper establishes a mobile edge computing network and proposes a service quality optimization scheme under multi-UAV collaboration. Two main works are done in this network. the first is to model the quality of service for users. the second is to use the deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm to increase the quality of service under different subtask quantities. Finally, the simulation results of the reward function prove the high reliability of the proposed scheme. It can be seen from the final experimental results that changing the number of subtasks and reducing the computing delay can improve the quality of user service. © 2022 IEEE.

the OpenLat initiative presents its results of lattice QCD simulations using Stabilized Wilson Fermions (SWF) using 2+1 quark flavors. Focusing on the SU(3) flavor symmetric point mπ = mK = 412 MeV, four different lattice spacings (a = 0.064, 0.077, 0.094, 0.12 fm) are used to perform the continuum limit to study cutoff effects. As a decentralized machine learning paradigm, Federated Learning (FL) is an emerging technique to protect user data privacy in Mobile Edge computing (MEC). FL adopts the idea of distributed privacy computing, enabling the terminal devices to train machine learning models required by servers locally and upload model parameters to servers for aggregation. However, in the process of coupling FL with MEC systems, device heterogeneity, malicious use of poisoned data by users and limited system resources will seriously affect FL training accuracy, system reliability and energy efficiency. In this paper, a highly reliable and energy-efficient FL scheme is designed to solve these issues. Specifically, we first propose a calculation method for estimating the reliability of heterogeneous devices. then, we design a highly reliable device selection scheme based on devices' reliability, computing power, and participation times. Finally, we utilize the slack time in FL training to dynamically adjust the voltage and frequency of devices for reducing the energy consumption of training. Experimental results show that our proposed scheme improves the accuracy by up to 36.45% on average and saves energy by up to 48.63% when compared to the baseline and benchmarking methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Domestic violence (DV) is getting more and more attention due to the critical trouble and danger that pose great challenge to human rights and health. the popularity of various social medias can help these victims to share their experiences and obtain more possible support from numerous open communities. However, it is not only inefficient but also laborious and time-consuming to manually access and browse through a great deal of available posts on the Internet and social media space. therefore, considering the advantages of Deep Learning (DL) technology in Natural Language Processing, adopting DL as an efficient strategy for automatic recognition and evaluation of DV victims is in the urgent requirements. this paper takes social media Facebook posts about domestic violence as the research object and uses Word2Vec to build word vector model. the paper uses Bi-LSTM+self-Attention deep learning models to accomplish DV crisis recognition task and compares it with CNN, RNN and LSTM. the assessment of experimental results show that the accuracy of CNN and LSTM are both above 90% which is better than RNN;And the accuracy of Bi-LSTM is the highest after using the Attention mechanism. the research results of this article will provide reference and help for public DVCS to rescue DV victims. © 2022 IEEE.
