Pattern Language provides simple and conveniently formatted solutions to complex design problems ranging from urban planning to interior design for community-led inclusive designs. Despite the intention, the concept has been more widely adopted by computer science professionals. One possible reason is the lack of visualization, making it difficult to be used interactively by the nonprofessionals. To overcome the issue, we aim to integrate the patterns from Pattern Language into the L-system to visualize the paper architecture into geometric forms. Specifically, we implement Pattern L-System (PL-System), which generates diagrammatic floor plans using design rules based on the pattern languages. We first made analogical comparisons of the concepts and grammar structure between Pattern Language and the L-system. Next, we defined a geometric interpreter for drawing diagrammatic floor plans using turtle graphics, which consist of geometrical rules for putting shapes together. then, we selected three patterns and reinterpreted them for visualization using strings of turtle graphics letters that determine the turtle’s movements for the geometric representation of walls, columns, and doors. From this research process, we learned that Modular L-system opens up the possibility for the visualization of the patterns in Pattern Language. © 2022, the Association for computer-aided Architectural design Research in Asia. In this paper, a 1 MW solar power plant has been designed by bifacial panels in Mashhad and from an economic and environmental perspective, it examined the issue. Determining the distance of the panels from each other, the appropriate angle of the panels has been checked to estimate the optimal efficiency of the system. In addition to producing 1812 megawatt hours per year, the system has a Performance Ratio (PR) of 93.42%, and the return on investment (ROI) and Net Present Cost (NPC) are respectively 31.4% and 7'892'184.18 h-t. As a result, a bifacial solar module's energy output is affected by a number of factors: the installation height of the solar module, the reflection coefficient of the surface below the module, tilt angles and pitch. therefore, in this project, the performance of each of these parameters has been investigated and evaluated for different values in the power plant. Pvsyst is used as simulation software to design and simulate PV systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Drone swarm technology often employs a leader-follower strategy, where a single drone assumes the role of the leader and directs multiple follower drones. the leader and followers communicate through a designated protocol for seamless data exchange and coordination. this paper addresses scenarios where traditional radio frequency (RF) communication is disrupted or denied, focusing on enhancing the robustness and reliability of drone operations for follower drones. the leader drone can use communication-resistant technologies and advanced computer vision algorithms to guide the follower drones. Additionally, the leader drone features a tail LED light with a directional arrow symbol and three colour variants of blue, yellow and pink for speed display with 0.89, 0.98 and 0.96 accuracy rates, respectively. In this proposed design, follower drones maintain a consistent distance, altitude, and angle relative to the leader drone, with the machine learning algorithm utilizing region-based segmentation for practical guidance. Experimental results demonstrate that the system achieves an impressive response time of 10 ms per frame, with an 18 m detection range and less than 1% error for altitude adjustments in low-light conditions. Notably, the follower drones consistently maintain a 95% reliability in following the leader with the specified distance and altitude.

Storing big data directly on a blockchain poses a substantial burden due to the need to maintain a consistent ledger across all nodes. Numerous studies in decentralized storage systems have been conducted to tackle this particular challenge. Most state-of-the-art research concentrates on developing a general storage system that can accommodate diverse blockchain categories. However, it is essential to recognize the unique attributes of a consortium blockchain, such as data privacy and access control. Beyond ensuring high performance, these specific needs are often overlooked by general storage systems. this paper proposes a decentralized storage system for Hyperledger Fabric, which is a well-known consortium blockchain. First, we employ erasure coding to partition files, subsequently organizing these chunks into a hierarchical structure that fosters efficient and dependable data storage. Second, we design a two-layer hash-slots mechanism and a mirror strategy, enabling high data availability. third, we design an access control mechanism based on a smart contract to regulate file access. © 2024 IEEE.

Pandemic hits the world catastrophically, leading to the disruption on our everyday life including how students learn in the pandemic era. Most of the students nowadays have difficulties preparing the way to face the world of work. this research proposes a serious game design to prepare university students for the world of work by combining the Six Facets of Serious Game design and Adam's Ernest Game design. Six Facets of Serious Game design is the design pattern for serious games (e.g., pedagogical games) [1]. Two systems (i.e. the serious game and the baseline system) were designed, deployed and evaluated to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed serious game design. the serious game design was built on an Android mobile phone. Moreover, a simple simulation that has identical scenarios with the serious game was also built as the baseline in the evaluation process. thirty-seven respondents who will be or have been entering the workplace for their first time participated in the evaluation process. A Wilcoxon rank test was applied to the data as the data does not come from a normal distribution. the results show that the proposed serious game design provides more effective results than the baseline. the user experiences' score provided by the serious game design system is statistically higher than the baseline system. Moreover, the serious game system increases the learners' motivation compared to the baseline system. © 2023 IEEE.

Systems with automated recommendations are widely used in many mobile applications, such as e-commerce, news, agriculture, and other fields. Agricultural information is an essential driving force for the development of agricultural modernization. the goal of this work was to assist amateur green oak leaf lettuce growers, who do not have access to the assistance of agricultural experts. the growers are required to capture a photo of the crops and send it through the LINE application. the image will then be processed to assess the stages of growth and in addition, a set of chosen advice will be given through a response message. this process is a very economical approach that allows growers with little technical knowledge to use this system through the well-known LINE chatbot. In this investigation, YOLO, a powerful object detection algorithm, was employed for estimating lettuce growth. the recommendations were prepared to support the growth assessment along with the LINE bot platform. the implementation performed well according to the design and functional process flow. Although the average assessment accuracy reached 90% in this preliminary study, future work needs more investigation into various aspects. © 2024 IEEE.

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) games possess the capacity to provide significant benefits for post-stroke rehabilitation by enhancing the healing process and reducing costs and time requirements. this work offers a practical answer to the constraints presented by the execution of rehabilitation games after a stroke. the approach involves evaluating the gaming elements, such as challenge and action, in game design. the objective is to identify a game design that aligns with the specific area of the body that needs improvement during the rehabilitation session. Employing the PRISMA framework to execute a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) involves the identification of pertinent data sources, assessment of abstracts, selection of eligible articles, and analysis of data using the meta-analysis method. During this method, we conducted an analysis of 198 articles from various database sources. From this analysis, we highlighted 24 papers that need further examination. this study discovered several game concepts that have been shown useful in aiding the rehabilitation of stroke sufferers. Nevertheless, there are other constraints, including a dearth of studies investigating the lower body and cognitive components, a lack of research addressing the rehabilitation of lip movements and pointing the foot to control objects, as well as a lack of assessment of the outcomes of gameplay. © 2024 the Authors.

the human eye is frequently considered to deliver a space into a person's strength because it is only with diabetic retinopathy (DR), a devastating eye illness caused by diabetes mellitus, that one may understand the subject's unprotected surface without invasive operations. there are certain disorders, notably vascular illness, that authority telltale indicators in the eye retina. Microaneurysms (MAs) are primary indicators of diabetic retinopathy (DR), making their detection crucial for an effective screening program that adheres to clinical procedures. Retinal examinations can reveal pathological deviations caused by limited ocular diseases such as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease hypertension and stroke. the proposed work introduces image processing algorithms, such as shady object identification, to predict the disorder or improve the contribution frame, thereby improving the perceptibility of vessels in color fundus frames. Following this enhancement, an automated classification algorithm, specifically a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), is executed. the CNN architecture is designed to efficiently extract features from retinal frames, capturing complex patterns connected with diabetic retinopathy. the trained CNN is then assessed on a separate test condition, with its performance system of measurement-accuracy, specificity, recall, and Fl measure-being reported. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to classify shells and pebbles, this study investigates the use of MobileNetV2 deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and transfer learning approaches. We train the network using a dataset of shell and pebble pictures, then use the pre-trained MobileNetV2 model as a feature extractor to refine the network and create a customised classification model. Future developments in the geological, coastal and environmental sciences might benefit from the use of MobileNetV2, deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and transfer learning in the categorization of shells and pebbles. through transfer learning, the model can more effectively identify and access between various shell and pebble categories by utilising the information it acquired during its training on a wide range of pictures. Extensive tests are conducted to assess the efficacy of the suggested technique, revealing encouraging outcomes in terms of categorization efficiency and accuracy. With 87% accuracy, the proposed MobileNetV2 model predicts and classifies shells and pebbles with precision. By demonstrating the flexibility and effectiveness of MobileNetV2 in a particular area, the work advances the field of picture classification and opens the door to further developments in automated classification systems for environmental and geological applications. Further deep learning research might result in the creation of increasingly sophisticated model architectures designed especially for the categorization of geological and environmental objects. Accuracy and efficiency might be further enhanced by innovations in model design. © 2024 IEEE.
