Smart mirrors, which are now in development and will play a significant role in future technologies, offer consumers mirror and computer-assisted information services. these systems are able to link to an internet connection and retrieve data from the internet;the onboard microcontroller cards allow them to display this data on the mirror. Using a Raspberry Pi 3 microcontroller card, the researchers were able to build an intelligent mirror system that displays data from several online sources, such as weather reports, current events, user profiles, and camera images. the smart mirror has a built-in microphone, so you can operate some devices just by speaking into it. In order to keep yourself informed about the weather, local news, and other relevant information while you get ready for the day, a smart mirror shows relevant applications. In a clever approach, the mirror will perform the user's thinking. It is a system that can display the current date, time, temperature, and weather data, among other things. One definition of a smart mirror is a bi-directional mirror that also has an integrated screen. the intelligence of the system is built on the Internet of things (IoT), which helps the user and makes them more aware. In order to assess the efficacy of the suggested technique, which is known as Intelligent Raspberry PI based Smart Mirror (IRPISM), it is crossvalidated with the usual model called Arduino Powered Smart Mirror (APSM). this is evident from the results that the model is effective. © 2024 IEEE.

the process of architectural design can be complex due to the engagement of problem-solving with design thinking. However, in computer-aided approaches, there is no effective method of retrieving an understanding of the design process. this research aims to demonstrate a newly developed process-oriented workflow for design generation via retrievable design operations. this concept of retrievable design operations emphasizes design thinking as an accumulation of design strategies expressed as small operational steps. the transformation of design thinking can take place between projects and/or design alternatives through a recomposition of these steps. this paper exemplifies the method by using a proposed toolset on the Rhino-Grasshopper platform to achieve the retrievability of design operations. Intermediate results of this study are presented. Firstly, 3 categories of components in Grasshopper are presented that allow to define an operation-retrievable architectural massing. Secondly, the potential to amplify retrievable design operations into feasible design derivations is demonstrated via 1) transforming design models across different site conditions by retrieving the entire design operations, 2) and switching the individual typology by retrieving corresponding partial design operations. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Parabolic reflector (PR) antennas are commercially applied to the two Wi-Fi frequencies of 2.4 and 5 GHz in this conference paper. For the generation of vortex waves, a high gain and directive antenna structure is proposed here with PR. It is a unique feature of electromagnetic (EM) waves to have vortex or orbital angular momentum (OAM). OAM technique (known as conical pattern with twisted phase plane) can theoretically increase radio frequency links' capacity and diversity with infinite characteristic mode numbers. On the other hand, it is challenging to implement it in practice due to divergence of pattern and reception quality and capability. therefore, the PR structure can be considered a promising method to improve the vortex feature of a signal at the generation section. For a long-range dense link, a PR antenna at 24 GHz is designed to address issues related to high order vortex modes (mode 6). this frequency spectrum and other higher frequencies are used to increase the capacity of the backhaul network. © 2023 IEEE.

the rapid advancement of wearable technology has sparked significant interest in developing innovative sensors that can seamlessly integrate with the human body. Strain sensors have been widely used in wearable devices for human motion detection. the choice of materials for the substrate and electrodes of the strain sensors plays a crucial role in determining their biocompatibility. Existing wearable strain sensors commonly utilize polymeric films and planar structures, leading to restricted airflow in the area of attachment. Consequently, this limited ventilation can potentially elevate the risk of skin irritation, and bacterial infections, and cause discomfort for the users. In this paper, a biocompatible strain sensor for wearable technology is presented. the strain sensor design is discussed and fabricated using the printing technique. the biocompatibility of the sensor is assessed by conducting cell morphology and cell viability analysis. the finding shows that the C/TPU/Tegaderm strain sensor is noncytotoxic and highly biocompatible after being exposed to HFF-1 cells. these biocompatible sensors are promising for safe use on human skin. © 2023 IEEE.

Personas are fictional but realistic representations of user groups of a product or service that focus on their goals, needs, behavior, and other characteristics that may impact the design of the product. Using personas in the early phases of the design process can help identify product features, and demonstrate how these features address user needs and challenges. Despite being used in research for over a decade, there is a lack of standardized methodology on the development of personas and how they are used in the design process. the objective of this paper is to develop a systematic approach to the persona development process and show its effectiveness through a case study where we followed the proposed methodology in the early design phase of a diabetes management smartphone application (app) targeted at older and younger users. the study was conducted in United States from January to June 2020. the findings of our study provided an empirical examination of the effectiveness and efficiency of the design process using personas. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the rise of the Internet of things, smart healthcare with remote monitoring and diagnosis enables patients to reduce the number and duration of hospitalizations, thereby reducing the pressure on doctors. However, the transmission data of disease detection chips is susceptible to cache attacks, leading to user health data leakage. Hardware level encryption design has become a research hotspot. Firstly, by adding a Mask channel at the upper level of each convolution layer, the preprocessed data is transmitted simultaneously with the obfuscated data, and the channel exchange during transmission is utilized to protect user privacy;Secondly, there is a redundancy mechanism between the input matrix and weight matrix of the storage module, and invalid values are added to the redundant parts to prevent cache attacks from stealing user information;Finally, add multi temporal obfuscation to the first input data to achieve the different lengths between the first and subsequent data. the protection circuit designed in this article achieves user privacy protection on the basis of only increasing hardware overhead by 2.5%, power consumption overhead by 3.61%, and not affecting disease monitoring accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.
