In this paper, we introduce an energy-efficient parity function circuit that is implemented using XOR (exclusive-OR) and XNOR (exclusive-NOR) circuits. the proposed circuit reduces the internal load capacitance on the critical path and is designed with only 8 transistors. the circuit produces perfect output signals for all input combinations. the proposed parity function circuit demonstrates a 6.4% reduction in average propagation delay time, a 29.7% decrease in power dissipation, a 36.6% decrease in power-delay product (PDP), a 43.0% decrease in energy-delay product (EDP), and a 55.6% decrease in energy-delay-delay product (EDDP), respectively. Compared with the previous circuits, the proposed circuit exhibits the improved characteristics in terms of average propagation delay time, power dissipation, PDP, EDP, and EEDP. the proposed circuits are implemented with standard CMOS 0.18um technology. computer simulations using SPICE show that the proposed circuit performs the expected logic functions and achieves a reasonable performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Self-driving cars are a dynamically growing industry, fundamental to transportation and robotics, providing a higher demand for AI specialists. Nevertheless, as occurs with so many things, the theoretical understanding of abstraction in textbooks and modern curriculum is not as easily implemented by students. While numerous third-party companies are available in the market that provide kits and real-life guides and practices for self-driving cars, these products are often only for individuals and have quite high prices, making it difficult to apply in the classroom model. To solve this problem, this paper introduces the low-cost Autocar toolkit that university students can use to learn autonomous vehicle programming, which includes basic computer vision algorithms. Learning materials are designed for project-based learning, the ability to practice in groups, and implementation principles that focus on applying the approaches and techniques in computer vision. this approach is intended to address some of the difficulties the institution faces in procuring educational facilities and remove the gap between theory and practice in autonomous vehicle-related education. the AutoCar kit is suitable for classroom practice with groups of 3 members. this paper describes the hardware kit, the software materials, and the exercises. the result is an educational technology tool that contributes to training programming engineers for self-driving cars. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Emerging indoor visible light communication and positioning (VLCP) technology is placed among those of recent hot topics as it is capable of declaring the spatial location of objects, providing users with highly accurate positioning coordinates in 3-D with side benefits e.g., no RF interference generation, low cost, and minimized hardware. the current demand for multiple applications in various fields has called for the development of a robust, accurate, and optimized device that leverages the capabilities of VLCP technology. this system is of particular interest as it promises to deliver reliable results for numerous applications. In this paper, the design procedure of high precision indoor 3-D VLCP system is defined as an optimization problem which is solved by utilizing metaheuristic algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

Named Data Networking (NDN) is part of an NSF research project that started in 2010 and was created to be implemented as a future Internet architecture. NDN as a network service has evolved from an Internet host-based packet delivery model to an Internet content-based packet delivery model. Attackers design various attacks for NDN networks by exploiting the interaction between interest packets and data packets. IFA is one type of DDoS attack on NDN networks. IFA attackers would overload intermediate routing nodes by requesting a large number of fake Interest packets. In this paper, the interest-flooding attack model is tested by varying the attack time and location of the attacker. the results show that IFA attacks are more effective when the consumer is closer to the producer due to the increased latency resulting from the attack. © 2023 IEEE.

Significant progress has been made in developing systems that can automatically recognize human activities, largely thanks to deep learning models and sensor data. However, high performance and comprehensibility are often at odds in these systems. the aim of this research is to enhance both the accuracy and understandability of models that use sensors for human activity recognition (HAR). We present a new convolutional neural network design which takes input from accelerometers and gyroscopes across multiple data streams. this allows efficient capture of time and frequency characteristics. Additionally, we put forward an attention module that identifies informative patterns in the sensor signals to shed light on the model's predictions. Experiments were conducted on a benchmark dataset of common daily movements gathered from ubiquitous sensors. Our model achieves state-of-the-art accuracy exceeding prior deep learning techniques. the attention visuals provide transparency into which sensor segments are most relevant for accurate activity classification. this validates improved model interpretability. Our multi-channel architecture pushes sensor-based HAR forward through heightened predictive performance. We offer original perspectives to create reliable, precise systems for HAR. © 2024 IEEE.

Medical Visual Question Answering (Med-VQA) aims to address clinical questions using medical radiological images. However, existing studies have mainly focused on in-putting visual and textual features into attention-based network structures (such as Transformer), neglecting the more advanced relational features present in radiological images. therefore, we propose a Med- Vqamodel based on attention and visual relational reasoning. Firstly, we introduce a Bidirectional-guided Attention Module, enabling the model not only to use questions to guide attention to important regions in the image, but also to utilize the image to guide attention to key vocabulary in the question. Secondly, we design a Multi-level Visual Relational Module that models both global and local visual features. We employ a graph convolutional neural network to extract latent visual relational features, enriching the semantic information con-tained in visual features. Experimental results on the VQA-RAD dataset and SLAKE dataset show that our model outperforms other state-of-the-art Med- Vqamodels with an overall accuracy of 77.2 % and 80.3 %, respectively, while guaranteeing the model performance. © 2023 IEEE.

A relevant and highly demanded modern medicine problem in many of its areas is the timely detection and recognition of pathogenic microorganisms and microbial communities in the patient's tissues for the speedy prescription and correct use of medicines from mutually exclusive tactics. the transition to a new level in the speed of visualization of the samples' contents taken and the accuracy of diagnostics is possible because of the use of lanthanide staining in combination with scanning electron microscopy to retrieve a series of high-resolution images with subsequent automatic labelling and classification of microbiological objects. this paper presents the results of using the YOLOv5 neural network model to detect 15 different most common opportunistic classes of bacteria in 380 images. As a result, a 71.5% average accuracy and 69.8% recall were achieved by using the YOLOv5 base model without freezing layers. © 2023 IEEE.

the Android operating system released by Google in 2007 has experienced very significant development. In 2019, the number of Android application users reached 2.5 billion. One of the contributing factors is the nature of the android application, which is very flexible and easy to install. Users can download APK files on the internet. Generally, APK files are stored in archive format, so they are pretty easy to manage. However, APK files may be used to spread malware behind this convenience. this study aims to provide an overview of the process of planting malware/backdoor on Android applications and how to prevent it. this study initiated the injection of malicious code on five android applications, namely WhatsApp, Telegram, DroidCam, Fifa Mobile, and Tokopedia. According to the results, four applications were successfully injected, while one application failed. the failure most likely occurred as a result of the application's source code being obfuscated. Obfuscation is therefore strongly advised for Android applications to prevent code injection that could potentially lead to malware insertion. © 2023 IEEE.

this letter presents a study of quadrature voltage controlled oscillators (V COs) and investigates the performance of existing architectures. Traditionally, even-phased ring oscillators (ROs) are implemented with differential inverters/amplifiers which require a starter circuit, and experiences latch-up and tail current issues. this article proposes five new single-ended delay cells that employ negative-skewed delay scheme to construct quadrature-phase oscillators. the proposed circuits are compared with reported topologies in literature in terms of essential characteristics such as maximum frequency, phase-noise, tuning range, power consumption, voltage swing, power-delay product (PDP), and phase-noise bandwidth product (PNBP). Extensive simulations demonstrate the possibility of novel RO architectures for even-phase outputs with high frequency and wide tuning range. Proposed Circuit-l with the regulation of supply voltage achieves the highest operating point and frequency bandwidth of 14.36 GHz and 10.70 GHz, respectively. Meanwhile, proposed circuits 4 and 5 provide 60% and 26% improvements in terms of PDP and PNBP, respectively, from existing circuits and considered best alternatives with separate frequency tuning control. the results of this study provide valuable insights for designers seeking to incorporate quadrature RO's in their integrated circuits. © 2023 IEEE.

this research aims to analyze and find out how effective digital advertising is based on the visual style of the advertisement from the consumer's perspective. the advertisement studied came from the same brand but released two versions with two different visual styles, namely 2D animation and 3D animation. this research approach is descriptive and quantitative with the AISAS Model analysis method. there were 158 respondents taken using saturated sampling techniques, where members of the population were used as samples. Data were analyzed by distributing Likert scale questionnaires using the Paired t-test with the help of SPSS. the results of the research include: (1) the overall value of the AISAS (Attention Interest Search Action Share) dimension on the effectiveness of the 3D animated version of the Khong Guan advertisement using the Aisas model is 70.8% and is in a Good category;(2) the overall value of the AISAS (Attention Interest Search Action Share) dimension on the effectiveness of the 2D animated version of the Khong Guan advertisement using the Aisas model is 69.1% and is in a Good category;and (3) there is no effect or difference between the 2D and 3D groups. © 2024 IEEE.
