Since the early 2020s, the world has grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic, unleashed by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). the pressing need for swift and reliable diagnostic techniques became evident as this global crisis unfolded. While numerous approaches for early detection continue to evolve, the quest for innovative methods remains constant. In light of this, our research project aimed to develop and evaluate a highly efficient desktop application meticulously designed for a SARS-CoV-2 testing device based on electrochemical potentiostat principles. Our primary focus revolved around creating a user-friendly desktop application, seamlessly integrating an algorithm that automates result generation for operators. We successfully constructed the application by leveraging the robust Electron framework and employing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript languages. In addition to its exceptional performance, our application boasts an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), enabling operators to familiarize themselves with the system through concise training periods swiftly. By merging cutting-edge technology and user-centered design, our solution sets a new standard for efficient and accessible SARS-CoV-2 testing. © 2023 IEEE.

Creating decent work and economic growth is not an easy thing. Decent work and economic growth aim to create a decent work environment and financial stability. Malang City, known as the City of Education, has a relatively high unemployment rate, although it has decreased since it spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic. this figure is also still higher than the unemployment rate in East Java. One of the problems contributing to this unemployment rate is the ineffective dissemination of skills training and job vacancies, so this needs to be improved. To overcome this problem and find the most effective solution to reduce the unemployment rate in Malang City, this research is being conducted. the purpose of this research is to determine the most effective solution to the problem using the design thinking method to help decrease the high unemployment rates. To assist the audience in obtaining information related to certified training and job vacancies, the researcher aims to design a platform in the form of a website so that the audience can access information effectively. the semantical differential method is also used in this research to assess the audience's impression of the solution and determine whether the solution is acceptable to the target audience and can help with the problem of information dissemination. this solution is expected to help people obtain information related to certified training and job openings. In addition, this research will improve certified training information services in Malang City to be more effective and easily accessible to the public. © 2024 the Authors.

Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) is a network protocol that can provide centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) management to connected users. A network Access Server (NAS) was used in this protocol to authorize users' access to different network resources. Company XYZ has been managing their network resources using IP and device-based allocation. While this is enough, issues will come sooner or later if the network resource allocation management is not centralized. Also because of the company's mobile culture, current security policy implementation faces issues as the user is not tightly monitored and the effort to maintain multiple firewall configurations and policies is high. this solution applied the right security policy to the correct users and minimized the IT staff effort required to manage the network resources. Of the three implementation scenarios carried out, RADIUS was successfully integrated into all three, namely Work from Office (WFO) users' integration, Work from anywhere (WFA) users' integration using SSL VPN, and firewall administrator. this centralized user management and speeded up the user management process for PT. XYZ multiple firewalls into a three-minute process while also improving the visibility for the network resources users. © 2023 IEEE.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Exascale Computing Project's (ECP) Interoperable design of Extreme-scale Application Software (IDEAS) productivity team launched the panel series Strategies for Working Remotely to facilitate informal, cross-organizational dialog in the absence of face-to-face meetings. In a time of pandemic, organizations increasingly need to reach across perceived boundaries to learn from each other, so that we can move beyond stand-alone silos to more connected multidisciplinary and multi-organizational configurations. the present paper argues that the unplanned transition to remote work, overuse of electronic communication, and need to unlearn habits associated with an overreliance on face-to-face, created unique opportunities to learn from the situation and accelerate cross-institutional cooperation and collaboration through online community dialog facilitated by informal panel discussions. Recommendations for facilitating online panel discussions to foster cross-organizational dialog are provided by applying the Simulation Experience design Method.

Non-player Characters (NPCs) play a crucial role in shaping the player's experience and immersion in video games. However, despite advancements in technology and game design, NPCs continue to face several challenges that hinder their ability to provide engaging and realistic interactions. this has been true in some cases, such as open world games where the random NPCs do not have a lot of character depth or use repetitive sentences. this research aims to improve dialogue in video games by humanizing conversations between players and NPCs by using Google's Gemini API and Sentence-BERT framework. Gemini 1.0 Pro as a base model from Google to give natural responses and Sentence-BERT framework based on PyTorch and Transformers to compute sentence or text embeddings for more than 100 languages that can be compared with cosine similarity algorithm to find sentences with similar meanings. NPCs will be able to provide creative and unique quests to give to the players based on their conversations. this research provides insight on how LLMs such as Google's Gemini and Sentence BERT can be used in role-playing games to generate dynamic, unique conversations for NPCs without having to make the script manually. © 2024 the Authors.

One of the significant problems faced by dementia group homes is the high caregiver turnover rate. In particular, there is an urgent need to prevent the turnover of new caregivers and work toward ensuring and improving the quality of care. To address this issue, we are developing a care method support system that utilizes two databases: a personal attributes database and a care case database ([1]-[3]). the personal attributes database extracts personal attributes such as hobbies and previous occupations of residents from care records and care conference minutes. the care case database extracts cases of resident problems, their solutions, and the original text containing them. the care method support system presents candidates for appropriate responses to problems faced by residents based on these databases. In this study, we generated two care suggestion models: Care Suggestion Model: this model applies text similarity to the care case database to suggest candidates for appropriate responses to unregistered problems. Personalized Care Suggestion Model: this model applies clustering to the personal attributes database and generates a care suggestion model that considers personal attributes. We compared the two models and tested the usefulness of the model. © 2024 IEEE.

Navigating through the University of Ghana campus, like most tertiary campuses, can be very challenging, especially for a freshman, foreign, or an exchange student. there are numerous routes leading to particular buildings, and depending on the route taken, one may not see the inscriptions placed on these buildings. Some buildings do not have any inscription at all, and some of the signboards to the buildings have defaced due to prolonged exposure to harsh environmental conditions. Smartphones are ubiquitous today, and the current trend of conversations among the youth is dominant through mobile chat. therefore, this project sought to take advantage of these factors to design a mobile-based system to cater to this need by providing a means of building identification and providing map routes to help students find their way around. Neural Networks was employed in the development of the project. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) are two mainstream methods of deep learning and as such, were incorporated to develop a mobile-based chatbot system (UGBot) that provides an interactive manner of helping students identify buildings by taking pictures of the building and requesting for directions to their intended destinations. After implementing the classifier modules, accuracy values of 96% and 90% were obtained for the image and text classifiers, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Magnesium alloys are valued by industry for their lightweight structures. Magnesium alloy are mainly produced by warm forming because the sheet formability is poor at room temperature. the mechanical properties of magnesium alloy AZ31, such as stress-strain curves and damage values at different elevated temperatures, were obtained by this study using a computerized screw universal testing machine. Freudenthal fracture criteria were used to obtain the forming limit at distinct temperatures. the forming limit analysis proceeded during the sheet metal forming process at various elevated temperature. the fracture’s forming load, stroke, and position were determined for different working temperatures of the sheet metal forming process for AZ31, using a finite element simulation combined with the ductile fracture criteria. Finally, the predicted values were compared with the experimental results during the sheet metal forming process. the simulation results agreed with the experimental values for the fracture forming load, stroke, and position of the sheet metal forming process. the feasibility of the present method was confirmed to predict forming limit during the sheet metal forming process for different elevated temperatures. A finite element analysis for forming limit prediction would be beneficial to the design of sheet metal processes for AZ31 magnesium alloys. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Undersampling is one of the mainstream techniques in handling class-imbalance problem. the past half year, numerous undersampling methods have been proposed to deal with imbalanced data. However, most of them focus on selecting a representative majority subset, the relationship between class overlapping and undersampling is seldom considered. In this paper, we propose a two-stage clustering undersampling for class-overlapped imbalanced classification. To be specific, we first perform clustering on the training data to detect the candidate data subset of overlapped majority samples according to the majority purity of clusters. then we further evaluate the majority samples within the candidate data subset by the global similarities of both homogenous samples and heterogeneous samples. After that, we design a data cleaning process to remove the majority samples which have negative impact on the learnability of subsequent balanced data. Finally, we undersample the remaining majority samples with the clustering undersampling technique to obtain a balanced dataset. Extensive experiments on the KEEL datasets show the effectiveness of our method with regard to both data cleaning and imbalanced undersampling. © 2023 IEEE.
