Conceptual design is the foundational stage of a design process, translating ill-defined design problems to low-fidelity design concepts and prototypes. While deep learning approaches are widely applied in later design stages for design automation, we see fewer attempts in conceptual design for three reasons: 1) the data in this stage exhibit multiple modalities: natural language, sketches, and 3D shapes, and these modalities are challenging to represent in deep learning methods;2) it requires knowledge from a larger source of inspiration instead of focusing on a single design task;and 3) it requires translating designers' intent and feedback, and hence needs more interaction withdesigners and/or users. With recent advances in deep learning of cross-modal tasks (DLCMT) and the availability of large cross-modal datasets, we see opportunities to apply these learning methods to the conceptual design of product shapes. In this paper, we review 30 recent journal articles and conference papers across computergraphics, computer vision, and engineering design fields that involve DLCMT of three modalities: natural language, sketches, and 3D shapes. Based on the review, we identify the challenges and opportunities of utilizing DLCMT in 3D shape concepts generation, from which we propose a list of research questions pointing to future research directions.

Excellent robotic arm design and efficient algorithms can compensate for the shortcomings of Brain-computer Interface (BCI) based on motor imagery. this paper utilizes a depth camera as the sensor for environmental perception and employs a six-degree-of-freedom robotic arm withcomputer vision capabilities to achieve object recognition, pose estimation, and autonomous grasping in multi-target scenarios. the robotic arm is controlled to grasp a recognized object online via BCI based on the analysis of evoked potentials of the user's EEG signals upon presentation of visual stimuli.

In this article, physical layer security is investigated in a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) relay in the context of underlay cognitive radio (CR). the secondary transmitter transmits the mixed signal incorporated with NOMA to the two legitimate users via the aid of a UAV relay in the presence of an eavesdropper. To enhance the system secrecy performance, the joint of artificial noise (AN) and decode-and-forward (DF) technique is applied. Considering all the channels undergo Nakagami-m fading with path loss, along withthe interference of the primary transmitter, we derive the secrecy outage probabilities (SOPs) of both legitimate users to evaluate. Simulation results are presented and analyzed to verify the accuracy of derived expressions as well as to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and some critical parameters.
