In this paper, we present the preliminary results of a pilot study with older adult patients in the design and conceptualisation of a gamified medication education. the study aimed to assess patients’ level of understanding of their health conditions, prescribed medications and gather their feedback for the game design named ‘Tamamon’. Interviews were conducted with 10 older adult patients aged between 53– 76 (M = 64.3, SD = 6.77). A range of proposed Tamamon game concepts and mini games were used to elicit ideas. they allowed participants to contribute their feedback and comments so that the research team could gain a deeper understanding of older adult patients’ desire to play. We gathered older adults’ feedback/comments on the proposed game mock-up, and their preferences on the look-and-feel, game mechanism. Preliminary findings show older adults’ interests in gamified solutions for medication education. the paper concludes with a discussion on recommendations to revise the game mock-up before further development. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Everyone requires protection of belongings, especially security in public spaces such as locker rooms. Several locations in public areas keep hiring conventional security systems based on keys and padlocks, while others provide merely keyless lockers guarded by personnel. As a result, the user must ensure that the goods deposited with the locker storage officer are adequately secured. Numerous technologies have been used in conventional security systems, ranging from the difficult-to-imitate shape of keys and padlocks to the use of a padlock combination of numbers. the security system for storage places is also a purpose of information technology. this research aims to provide information on security systems in public spaces, especially shared access lockers. this project employs an experimental approach to create a prototype in the form of a smart locker that incorporates information technology. the lockers were constructed utilising plywood with an HPL finish on the exterior and PVC sheets on the interior. the dimensions of the locker were determined using the standard sizes of small and large luggage. Additionally, the approach to materials is addressed to minimise production waste. this research employs RFID technology that runs on the Arduino Nano to supplement the locker security system. Numerous RFID cards, including E-Toll cards and E-KTP, have been tested as the principal access method for opening and closing the smart locker's door. © 2022 IEEE.

the implementation of multi-space concepts in office buildings is a challenge for architects in early design phases. Activity-based work programmes require a user-specific demand analysis of the company based on employee profiles in order to be able to determine zone relationships, areas and other requirements. the multitude of factors results in complex demand programmes, which in turn, lead to difficulties in translating them into a design. the main objective of this paper is to reveal these difficulties for an essential parameter for efficient work, which is the interaction between employees within the company. this interaction is highly dependent on the spatial relation between the different zones in the building. A digital, grid-based model is used for quantifying zone relations in office building designs. the required zone connections are translated to the analysis model. For analysing zone connectivity, the parameters path length (metric shortest paths) and path complexity (visually shortest paths) are used. In this paper, we investigate two design projects for multi-space office buildings with 9300 m2 and 3600 m2. the results of the floor plan analysis are evaluated and compared to the demand requirements. Conspicuous deviations of the design from the demand are then discussed through expert interviews with the designing architects. the paper presents new findings on analysing path relationships in terms of the demand programme. It identifies factors that challenge the fulfilment of demanded zone connections, summarises the results and points out improvements to floor plan evaluation as well as optimisation potentials in the demand planning process. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

NPTSR is a super-resolution method for hyperspectral image fusion that uses tensor-tensor product to characterize nonlocal patch for the purpose of fusing hyperspectral images and multispectral images. Due to its high computational efficiency in single-machine environments, it is difficult to adapt NPTSR to large-scale remote sensing datasets and large numbers of iterations during the hyperspectral image super-resolution procedure. To address the above-mentioned limitations, this paper proposes a Spark-based parallel method for NPTSR algorithm. We develop a parallel method for nonlocal patches extraction relying on the characteristics of remote sensing data in tensor representation. In addition, we design the parallel implementation of the iterative procedure involved in NPTSR algorithm to accelerate its execution on Spark. Experimental results show that, compared with the serial version, the parallel NPTSR algorithm achieves significant speedup while guaranteeing similar image fusion accuracy and convergence rate. Moreover, the parallel implementation exhibits decent scalability to the increasing size of hyperspectral dataset. © 2022 IEEE.

Prostate biopsy is the gold standard for detecting prostate cancer. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), which provides higher spatial contrast and resolution than transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) or computer tomography (CT), is expected to improve the accuracy of prostate cancer diagnosis. On this account, a novel robotic prostate biopsy system guided by only MRI is under development. For its safe remote placement and insertion, the robotic system will include a 3-degree-of-freedom (DOF) force sensing needle guide using multiple fiber Bragg grating sensors. On the premise of protecting the human body from being accidentally injured by the movement of the robotic system, it helps to provide a faster and more accurate tissue sampling function. there are currently no studies on force sensing needle guides. For ease of manufacturing process and for increasing force sensitivity, a unique separable force-sensitive block is proposed to fix the sensors, and a total of 3 fibers with two FBGs each are used. Simulation modeling is used in the design and optimization of the unique force-sensitive block. the relationship between the various forces and the FBG strain values is studied. through the simulation analysis results, it is expected that the proposed needle guide would measure the forces with high accuracy.

Integrated Circuits (IC) are increasingly present in our daily lives through various everyday objects. Many third-party companies are involved during their manufacturing process. It introduces many threats to the ICs' manufacturing, such as IP piracy and Hardware Trojans. Strong Logic Locking methodology is generally used to protect from IC piracy, such as counterfeiting or reverse engineering, and against Hardware Trojans insertion;however, the lack of automated tools fully integrated into a CAD flow limits the integration of countermeasures. this paper proposes mathematical models on the Strong Logic Locking method to optimize the security and an automatic security design inserted in an open CAD flow. We implemented an exact algorithm to maximize the security measure while implementing a strategy to minimize the impact of delay and area on the circuit. this algorithm is a custom branch and bound based on the mathematical model developed in this paper. In addition, we propose a strategy to limit the impact of countermeasures on the delay. Furthermore, our approach takes place inside a standard open CAD flow after logic synthesis to be as generic as possible. the experiments carried out that security can be added in a standard open CAD flow with a reasonable computation time and a limited impact on the circuit. Our security measure is more precise than the previous one, with a limited area overhead defined by a user. the increase of the critical path is less than 7% for large benches with a limit of 10% area overhead. © 2023 IEEE.

Principal component analysis (PCA) is a popular technique for machine learning and signal processing. Sparse PCA is a special and difficult case of PCA and sparsity can enhance the interpretability of pricipal component. We focus on such the sparse PCA problem, which is a typical nonsmooth and nonconvex optimization problem. To the best of our knowledge, the existing methods lack of sufficient rationality in the design of algorithm or have the disvantage on speed and iteration. In this paper, we proposed two classes of accelerated manifold proximal gradient method. Numerical experiments display the superiority of our algorithms compared to the latest methods.

In edge computing, computing, storage, and network services are provided at the edge of the network. If the edge server is configured with the appropriate virtualization services, end-device requests can be processed at the edge to save network bandwidth and reduce response time. It is necessary for edge devices to run for a long period of time in order to receive user requests, however, users do not always send requests, which may result in some edge devices being idle for a long time and causing a significant amount of idle energy *** this paper, we design a sleep-mode based edge computing architecture that uses containers as resource units. Also, based on the proximal policy optimization algorithm (PPO), we propose a task scheduling algorithm using this edge computing architecture, namely Proximal Policy Optimization Task Scheduling based on Sleep Mode (PPO-TSSM). Our goal is to minimize the total utility of the task;where the total utility is the tradeoff between completion time, energy consumption and deadline. the experimental results show that our proposed algorithm PPO-TSSM reduces the total cost by at least 3.33% (up to 62.92%) compared with the baseline algorithm, and reduces the minimum completion time by 5.37% to 157.7%, and the energy consumption by 2.95% to 8.97% compared with other baseline algorithms. Meanwhile, we set up PPO-TS-NS without sleep mode to compare with the environment using sleep mode, and find that PPO-TSSM reduces the energy consumption by 74.76% compared with PPO-TS-NS, while the minimum completion time only increases by 5.33%. therefore, introducing sleep mode can effectively reduce the cost of the whole edge computing system. © 2023 IEEE.

Autonomous vehicles, lifestyles, and businesses related to the tourism industry are facing a lot of security issues when the digital revolution is considered in the digital version of security management. the aim of this research is to design and develop an efficient framework with security management (SM) and incidence response (IR) for securing autonomous transportation services (ATS). In the SM and IR, the quality of secure ATS and quickness will be considered. To achieve the objective of the research, service encounters (a form of social exchange) through social networks and digital transformation are used as a method. Service encounters based on emerging technology are the best approach because these future services evolve with emerging technologies, which depend on digital transformation and revolution. When the digital age matures in the tourism industry, users are transformed to use digital devices integrated within autonomous transportation systems. Although the legacy of digital systems is still considered in transportation services, the problems of digital transformation create complicated situations for many tourists because service providers transform their ATS from traditional management to digital management, such as the digital transformation of tourism management with security. Many ATS upgrades of digital transformation in tourism management, which prevent the use of service encounters and accessing necessary services at the time, are challenging problems.
