Collaborative mobile computing is today one of the most popular paradigms of computing because of its impact on the performance and expansion of distributed systems and therefore on the development of internet of things. Due to the rapid progress in technologies of communication and smart mobile devices with the growing trend towards its use, many architectures of mobile collaborative computing have emerged to improve and organize the expand of internet of things, such as Cloud, Cloudlet, Fog, Edge, Mobile Edge, Mobile Cloudlet computing, etc. In this paper, we first review their current layered architectural models and discuss their limits and challenges. then, we will present a new architectural model: Collaborative Autonomous Networks of Mobile Devices Using Peer-to-Peer Communication that can be applied in many areas. Finally, a scenario of an emergency situation is presented to illustrate and highlight its requirements, such as supporting connectivity and engineering of data and services. scenarios like the surveillance of isolated areas, when the border node of a network does not have a permanent connection with the internet, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are calling for resilient in-network data storage techniques which minimize the risk of data loss. the efficiency of these techniques can be largely improved exploiting information on the status of the network, such as that used by routing protocols. In particular, one of the most used protocol in internet of things (IoT) scenarios is the IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low power and lossy networks (RPL). In this paper, we propose a redundant distributed data storage and retrieval mechanism to increase the resilience and storage capacity of a RPL-based WSN against local memory shortage. We evaluate our approach in the Contiki operating system through extensive analysis with the Cooja simulator.

this paper analyzes the key technologies of the distributed data, and proposes the solution of the mass data processing based on the Information platform of internet of things. the solution uses Hadoop as the open source framework to realize the distributed computing system, and uses Mahout as the data mining algorithm library to realize the parallelization of k-means clustering algorithm. this will achieve the high efficiency and the large expansibility through the mass data processing. the mass data source used in this project is from the intelligent agricultural Information service platform. the system takes the deployment test on the mass sensing information, and it optimizes and parallelizes the K-means algorithm to realize the mass data processing based on the Information platform of internet of things. It can make the statistical analysis, and provide fine management and other services. the algorithm is used to improve the efficiency and the accuracy of the platform with the supercomputing and the reliable storage ability.

Use cases in the internet of things (IoT) and in mobile clouds often require the interaction of one or more mobile devices with their infrastructure to provide users with services. Ideally, this interaction is based on a reliable connection between the communicating devices, which is often not the case. Since most use cases do not adequately address this issue, service quality is often compromised. Aimed to address this issue, this paper proposes a novel approach to forecast the connectivity and bandwidth of mobile devices by applying machine learning to the context data recorded by the various sensors of the mobile device. this concept, designed as a microservice, has been implemented in the mobile middleware CloudAware, a system software infrastructure for mobile cloud computing that integrates easily with mobile operating systems, such as Android. We evaluate our approach with real sensor data and show how to enable mobile devices in the IoT to make assumptions about their future connectivity, allowing for intelligent and distributed decision making on the mobile edge of the network. Grid computing has made it possible for users to create complex applications by combining globally distributed data and analysis components and deploy them on geographically distributed resources for execution. Introduction of ad-hoc Virtual Organizations based on on-demand service provisioning further enhances this architectural concept. Job-based paradigms or reliance on relatively static UDDI lead to a failure in offering the complete dynamism of a heterogeneous distributed Grid. A possible alternative is the use of dynamic peer-to-peer (P2P) techniques within a Web Service based Grid to introduce the ability of the network to adapt to resource volatility already established in P2P-based content-delivery models. In this paper, we present the architecture of a demand-driven Web Service deployment framework that allows sharing of data and computing capacity using P2P technology as its backbone. We focus on various issues such as resource availability, scalability and abstraction. Demand-driven resource allocation is based on request parameters and availability of the resources to create the basis for a fully dynamic virtual market place of computational resources. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

internet of things (IoT) standards are a key technology for enabling multi-purpose Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Indeed, by providing a common interface for interacting with sensor nodes, they help decouple the sensing infrastructure from the applications running on top of it. To this end, much work has been done to define the semantics for controlling sensors and actuators. On the contrary, a solution for manipulating the in-network processing performed by an IoT-based WSN is still undefined. As a result, IoT applications usually run "out-of-the-network", e. g., in high-end application servers or in the Cloud. this paper addresses such a limitation by proposing T-Res, a new programming abstraction for IoT-based WSNs. the proposed solution allows using IoT protocols for changing the data-processing performed by sensor nodes and the interaction among them, thus enabling "in-network" applications. To prove the feasibility of T-Res, a real implementation based on Contiki OS is presented and evaluated. Evaluation results show that the use of T-Res, compared with the traditional "out-of-network" approach, lowers the risk of network congestion, reduces the power consumption, and can improve application response time.

With the increasing demand of cloud computing, energy consumption has drawn enormous attention in business and research community. this is also due to the amount of carbon footprints generated from the information and communication technology resources such as server, network and storage. therefore, the first and foremost goal is to minimize the energy consumption without compromising the customer demands or tasks. On the other hand, task consolidation is a process to minimize the total number of resource usage by improving the utilization of the active resources. Recent studies reported that the tasks are assigned to the virtual machines (VMs) based on their utilization value on VMs without any major concern on the processing time of the tasks. However, task processing time is also equal important criteria. In this paper, we propose a multi-criteria based task consolidation algorithm that assigns the tasks to VMs by considering both processing time of the tasks and the utilization of VMs. We perform rigorous simulations on the proposed algorithm using some randomly generated datasets and compare the results with two recent energy-conscious task consolidation algorithms, namely random and MaxUtil. the proposed algorithm improves about 10 % of energy consumption than the random algorithm and about 5 % than the MaxUtil algorithm.

Preserving Privacy is crucial in distributed environments wherein data mining becomes a collaborative task among participants. Solutions proposed on the lines of cryptography involve use of classical cryptographic constructs in data mining algorithms. Applicability of solutions proposed depends on the adversary model in which it is able to preserve privacy. Existing cryptography based solutions for privacy preserving clustering aim to achieve privacy in presence of semi honest adversary model. For the practical applicability of the solutions in real world settings, support of malicious adversary model is desirable. As per our literature survey, the existing research lacks any fool proof solution for privacy preserving distributed clustering in malicious adversary model. In this paper, we propose privacy preserving distributed K-Means clustering of horizontally partitioned data that supports privacy in malicious adversarial model. the basic construct involves use of secret sharing mechanism clubbed with code based zero knowledge identification scheme. We use secret sharing for privately sharing the information and code based identification scheme to add support against malicious adversaries. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Mobile Cloud computing (MCC) augments resource capability of mobile/portable devices for efficient execution of their applications, which results in undesirable coupling of mobile applications and mobile cloud services. the existing approaches of decoupling between them can manage either logical mobility or physical mobility of different constituents of MCC, but not together at the same time. this paper proposes the notion of hierarchical decoupling in MCC, that manages both logical and physical mobility simultaneously. the proposed hierarchical decoupling follows a tiered approach, in which interactions of mobile applications with mobile cloud services are decoupled at two tiers using the tuple space model. At the top tier, decoupling manages logical mobility of mobile applications and mobile cloud services, whereas, decoupling at the bottom tier handles physical mobility of devices in dynamic and unreliable networks. this results in better decoupling between mobile applications and mobile cloud services, which, in turn, improves adaptability and robustness of MCC. A new mobile cloud architecture that realizes the proposed approach has also been presented in this paper.

this paper addresses the internet of things (IoT) paradigm, which is gaining substantial ground in modern wireless telecommunications. the IoT describes a vision where heterogeneous objects like computers, sensors, Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID) tags or mobile phones are able to communicate and cooperate efficiently to achieve common goals thanks to a common IP addressing scheme. this paper focuses on the reliability of emergency applications under IoT technology. these applications' success is contingent upon the delivery of high-priority events from many scattered objects to one or more objects without packet loss. thus, the network has to be self-adaptive and resilient to errors by providing efficient mechanisms for information distribution especially in the multi-hop scenario. As future perspective, we propose a lightweight and energy-efficient joint mechanism, called AJIA (Adaptive Joint protocol based on Implicit ACK), for packet loss recovery and route quality evaluation in the IoT. In this protocol, we use the overhearing feature, characterizing the wireless channels, as an implicit ACK mechanism. In addition, the protocol allows for an adaptive selection of the routing path based on the link quality.
