In this paper, a novel framework for cluster detection in cooperative wireless networks is proposed. this framework is modeled by a dynamic game with incomplete information, in which each player in the game aspires to improve its position in the network by forming cooperative groups. Instead of static systems, the attention we paid in this paper is highly dynamic networks, where the users' high mobility brings a huge challenge in clustering. In order to mitigate that impact, this paper is from the perspective of social relations to clustering, extracting users' social nature from their mobile patterns and designing distributed cluster strategy based on game model. the introduction of social nature with generally long-term characteristics makes clustering framework more predictive and stable. Simulations on real-world networks show that the proposed approach performs well in clustering in cooperative wireless networks.

Cloud computing has grown because of lowered costs due to economies of scale and multiplexing. Serverless computing exploits multiplexing in cloud computing however, for low latency required by IoT applications, the cloud should be moved nearer to the IoT device and the cold start problem should be addressed. Using a real-world dataset, we showed through implementation in an open-source cloud environment based on Knative that a serverless approach to manage IoT traffic is feasible, uses less resources than a serverfull approach and traffic prediction with prefetching can mitigate the cold start delay penalty. However applying the Knative framework directly to IoT traffic without considering the execution context gives unnecessary overhead.

Privacy issues were raised in the process of training deep learning in medical, mobility, and other fields. To solve this problem, we present privacy-preserving distributed deep learning method that allow clients to learn a variety of data without direct exposure. We divided a single deep learning architecture into a common extractor, a cloud model and a local classifier for the distributed learning. First, the common extractor, which is used by local clients, extracts secure features from the input data. the secure features also take the role that the cloud model can employ various task and diverse types of data. the feature contain the most important information that helps to proceed various task. Second, the cloud model including most parts of the whole training model gets the embedded features from the massive local clients, and performs most of deep learning operations which takes severe computing cost. After the operations in cloud model finished, outputs of the cloud model send back to local clients. Finally, the local classifier determined classification results and delivers the results to local clients. When clients train models, our model does not directly expose sensitive information to exterior network. During the test, the average performance improvement was 2.63% over the existing local training model. However, in a distributed environment, there is a possibility of inversion attack due to exposed features. For this reason, we experimented with the common extractor to prevent data restoration. the quality of restoration of the original image was tested by adjusting the depth of the common extractor. As a result, we found that the deeper the common extractor, the restoration score decreased to 89.74.

the wide adoption of increasingly cheap and computationally powerful single-board computers, has triggered the emergence of new paradigms for collaborative data processing among IoT devices. Motivated by the billions of ARM chips having been shipped as IoT gateways so far, our paper proposes a novel continuous federation approach that uses RDF Stream Processing (RSP) engines as autonomous processing agents. these agents can coordinate their resources to distribute processing pipelines by delegating partial workloads to their peers via subscribing continuous queries. Our empirical study in "cooperative sensing" scenarios with resourceful experiments on a cluster of Raspberry Pi nodes shows that the scalability can be significantly improved by adding more autonomous agents to a network of edge devices on demand. the findings open several new interesting follow-up research challenges in enabling semantic interoperability for the edge computing paradigm.

Virtualization allows for more efficient hardware usage by allowing several instances of Operating Systems (OSs) or Virtual Machines (VMs) to run on a physical server. Containers are a subset of lightweight virtualization and reduce the overhead of virtualizing an entire OS by sharing the server's OS with the virtualized instances. Moreover, containers work closer to hardware than VMs and are similar to Linux processes, however, this limits connectivity freedom since processes do not have access to network addressing. To resemble container's communication to that of conventional networks we use network drivers. Studies show that in processing- or memory-bound scenarios, containers perform better than VMs, but in network-bound scenarios they achieve less performance. this work analyzes performance of networking implementations for Docker in different container allocations and workload scenarios.

Smart cities are growing significantly due to the growth of smart connected vehicles and Internet of things (IoT) where a wide range of devices are connected to share data. Online mapping is one of the fundamental services offered in smart cities which enables the vehicle owners to find shortest or fastest direction toward a destination thus reduces travel cost and air pollution. However, existing online mapping services rely on centralized servers, e.g., Google, which collect data from users to offer service. this method is unlikely to scale with growth in the smart city participants and introduces privacy concerns and data wall where data of the users is managed by big companies. To address these challenges, in this paper we introduce DMap, a blockchain-based platform where the users can share data in an anonymous distributed manner with service providers. To the best of our knowledge, DMap is the first distributed blockchain-based solution for online mapping. To improve the scalability of the blockchain, we propose to use edge-computing along with blockchain. To protect against malicious vehicles that may inject false data, we define a reputation system where the collected data of the vehicles is verified by monitoring the neighbor data. We introduce data marketplace where users can trade their data to address data wall challenge.

To help learners navigate the multitude of learning resources soon to become available in the Total Learning Architecture (TLA) ecosystem, a Recommender algorithm will give learners learning-resource recommendations. Recommendations will support immediate training needs and provide guidance throughout one's career. this paper describes initial work to define the logic that will be used by the Recommender. It describes our use of (1) expertise acquisition theory and (2) research on the learning effects of learner state and characteristics. the descriptions are accompanied by examples of relevant research and theory, the learner-support guidelines they suggest, and ways to translate the guidelines into Recommender logic. the TLA, together with the Recommender, have significant potential to aid professionals across a range of complex work domains, such as cyber operations, with their career development and growth and the acceleration of their expertise attainment.

this paper describes the pineapple monitoring system based on the edge computing which consists of the sensing drone and database. A huge sensing data transferred to the computer system will be changed from the cloud to edge, near future. the merits of this change are low power dissipation, reducing data transfer, real time operation, and security issues. To enjoy these merits, effective compaction of sensing data, energy efficient networking, and edge oriented data management architecture has been proposed. We design the pineapple monitoring system using above core technologies and evaluates the enhancement of system performance.

Computational grids consist of distributed environments where partner institutions offer hosts along with computational resources that can be used by all members of the grid. When an application needs to run in such environment, it allocates a portion of hosts necessary for its executions. Traditionally, the workload imposed on computational grids has a characteristic of being bag-of-tasks (BoT). It means that multiple replicas are submitted to different hosts, and when a response is processed, such replicas are either ignored or released. On resource allocation, as the grid is distributed among different participants, only idle resources can be leased by a new application. However, due to the behavior of BoTs, many allocated resources do not use their resources in their entirety. Another important fact is that only fully idle hosts can be added to the grid pool, and used only at these times. From the above, this paper proposes an approach that uses underutilized resource slice of grid hosts through virtualization, adjusting the use of grid applications to the leftover resources from daily hosts usage. It allows grid applications to run, even when hosts are in use, as long as there is an idle slice of resources, and their use does not interfere with the host's current running. To evaluate this approach, we performed an empirical evaluation of a virtualized server running applications concurrently with a virtualized grid application. the results have showed that our scheme could accelerate the performance of grid applications without impacting on higher energy consumption.
