there is very significant role of Virtualization in cloud computing. the physical hardware in the cloud computing reside with the host machine and the virtualization software runs on it. the virtualization allows virtual machines to exist. the host machine shares its physical components such as memory, storage, and processor ultimately to handle the needs of the virtual machines. If an attacker effectively compromises one VM, it could outbreak others on the same host on the network over long periods of time. this is an gradually more popular method for cross-virtual-machine attacks, since traffic between VMs cannot be examined by standard IDS/IPS software programs. As we know that the cloud environment is distributed in nature and hence more susceptible to various types of intrusion attacks which include installing malicious software and generating backdoors. In a cloud environment, where organizations have hosted important and critical data, the security of underlying technologies becomes critical. To alleviate the hazard to cloud environments, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are a cover of defense. In this paper, we are proposing an innovative model for Intrusion Detection System for securing Host machines in cloud infrastructure. this proposed IDS has two important features: (1) signature based and (2) prompt alert system.

the 4th industrial revolution is marked by the use of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) to achieve higher levels of flexibility and adaptation in production systems that need to cope with a demanding and ever-changing market, driven by mass customization and high quality products. In this context, data analysis is a key technology enabler in the development of intelligent machines and products. However, in addition to Cloud-based data analysis services, the realization of such CPS requires technologies and approaches capable to effectively support distributed and embedded data analysis capabilities. the advances in Edge computing have promoted the data processing near or at the devices that produce data, which combined with Multi-Agent Systems, allow to develop solutions based on distributed and interacting autonomous entities in open and dynamic environments. In this sense, this paper presents a modular agent-based architecture to design and embed cyber-physical components with data analysis capabilities. the proposed approach defines a set of data processing modules that can be combined to build cyber-physical agents to be deployed at different computational layers. the proposed approach was applied in a smart inspection station for electric motors, where agents embedding data analysis algorithms were distributed among Edge, Fog and Cloud layers. the experimental results illustrated the benefits of distributing the data analysis by different computational layers.

With the advent and proliferation of post-PC era devices (ex: smartphones and tablets), the desktop printing is beginning to decline. However, with the proliferation of the mobile devices, and acceptance of the BYOD concept in the enterprises, employees want to print from anywhere, anytime and using any device. And, enterprises want to ensure security in the printing while enabling anytime, anywhere print access. this need in the market has prompted us to create Internet Gateway (IG) to provide secure location independent connectivity as a service, without MDM (Mobile Device Management) or VPN (Virtual Private Network). We have proposed IG as a connectivity service, for providing mobility to the services hosted in the cloud. We believe that this innovation would help in turnaround by saving the huge costs being spent on MDMs (more than 20,000 USD for each MDM instance), and as well provide a value to customers for printing from anywhere, anytime.

Chatbot system attract huge interest in the recent years in many different fields in an attempt to increase the efficiency and shortens the business process execution time replacing the human-human communication with a human-machine conversations and queries in natural languages. Chatbots today have varying levels of capabilities as general purpose conversational agents or task-oriented chatbots as well as open-domain and domain-specific agent systems. While basic chatbots may be adequate for most scenarios, some scenarios require more advanced chatbots. the paper presents a distributed chatbot system for supply chain. the system comprises several services: chat service, bot service, natural language processing service as well as supply chain service. It uses WebSocket communication between user interface and the bot, analyzes the user's query and provides information of the queried orders and supplies. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

the evaluation and diagnosis of retina pathologies are usually made by the analysis of different image modalities that allows to explore its structure. the most popular retina image method is the retinography, a technique to show the retina and other structures in the fundus of the eye. this paper deals with an important stage of the retina image processing for a diagnosis tool which aims to show the blood vessel structure. Our proposal is based on a deep convolutional neural network, that avoids any preprocessing stage such as gray scale conversion, histogram equalization, and other image transformations that determine the final result. thus, we obtain the blood vessel segmentation directly from the original RGB color retinography image. the results obtained with our method are comparable to the state-of-the art methods but using a smaller network with less memory and computation requirements. Our approach has been assessed using the DRIVE database.

In this work, we propose a novel imaging preprocessing step based on the use of the gradient magnitude for medical DaTSCAN SPECT images. As Parkinson's Disease (PD) is characterized by a marked reduction of intensity at striatum area, measuring intensities in this region is considered as a good marker for this neurological disorder. To extend this idea, we have been studying how quick these values decrease. A simple way to do this was using the gradient of each image. Applying Machine Learning algorithms, we have classified the gradient images and obtained an accuracy improvement of almost 2%. these results prove that the gradient magnitude is even a better marker for PD diagnosis and opens the door to new future investigations about this pathology.

Imbalanced datasets constitute a challenge in medical-image processing and machine learning in general. When the available training data is highly imbalanced, the risk for a classifier to find the trivial solution increases dramatically. To control the risk, an estimate on the prior class probabilities is usually required. In some medical datasets, such as breast cancer imaging techniques, estimates on the priors are intractable. Here we propose a solution to the imbalanced support vector classification problem when prior estimations are absent based on a case-dependent transformation on the decision function.

Data Stream Management Systems (DSMSs) performing online analytics rely on the efficient execution of large numbers of Aggregate Continuous Queries (ACQs). In this paper, we study the problem of generating high quality execution plans of ACQs in DSMSs deployed on multi-node (multi-core and multi-processor) distributed environments. Towards this goal, we classify optimizers based on how they partition the workload among computing nodes and on their usage of the concept of Weavability, which is utilized by the state-of-the-art WeaveShare optimizer to selectively combine ACQs and produce low cost execution plans for single-node environments. For each category, we propose an optimizer, which either adopts an existing strategy or develops a new one for assigning and grouping ACQs to computing nodes. We implement and experimentally compare all of our proposed optimizers in terms of (1) keeping the total cost of the ACQs execution plan low and (2) balancing the load among the computing nodes. Our extensive experimental evaluation shows that our newly developed Weave-Group to Nodes ((Forumala Presented).) and Weave-Group Inserted ((Forumala Presented). optimizers produce plans of significantly higher quality than the rest of the optimizers. (Forumala Presented). minimizes the total cost, making it more suitable from a client perspective, and (Forumala Presented). achieves load balancing, making it more suitable from a system perspective. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

Scientific workflows have become mainstream for conducting large-scale scientific research. As a result, many workflow applications and Workflow Management Systems (WMSs) have been developed as part of the cyberinfrastructure to allow scientists to execute their applications seamlessly on a range of distributed platforms. Although the scientific community has addressed this challenge from both theoretical and practical approaches, failure prediction, detection, and recovery still raise many research questions. In this paper, we propose an approach inspired by the control theory developed as part of autonomic computing to predict failures before they happen, and mitigated them when possible. the proposed approach is inspired on the proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID controller) control loop mechanism, which is widely used in industrial control systems, where the controller will react to adjust its output to mitigate faults. PID controllers aim to detect the possibility of a non-steady state far enough in advance so that an action can be performed to prevent it from happening. To demonstrate the feasibility of the approach, we tackle two common execution faults of large scale data-intensive workflows-data storage overload and memory overflow. We developed a simulator, which implements and evaluates simple standalone PID-inspired controllers to autonomously manage data and memory usage of a data-intensive bioinformatics workflow that consumes/produces over 4.4 TB of data, and requires over 24 TB of memory to run all tasks concurrently. Experimental results obtained via simulation indicate that workflow executions may significantly benefit from the controller-inspired approach, in particular under online and unknown conditions. Simulation results show that nearly-optimal executions (slowdown of 1.01) can be attained when using our proposed method, and faults are detected and mitigated far in advance of their occurrence. Achieving 100 Gbps+ throughput with commodity servers is a challenging goal, even with state-of-the-art Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK). Fundamental performance of CPU/Memory is now the bottleneck and simple code optimization of Network Functions (NFs) cannot be the solution. Hardware accelerators including FPGA are getting attentions for performance boost; however, relying on specific features degrades manageability of NFV-nodes. Common Receive Side Scaling (RSS) provides a means of H/W-level parallelization, but per-flow throughput is not accelerated. Existing software-based approaches distribute processing load of NFs, but I/O is still serialized for each datapath. We tackled I/O parallelization and uncovered encounterd certainly misty contentions in our previous study. Specifically, per-thread CPU cycle consumptions proportionally grew as increasing parallelization level, although the overhead of conceivable mutual executions (e.g. CAS operations) was trivial. In this paper, we pursue the cause of the issue and upgrade our I/O parallelization scheme. Our careful investigation of NFV-node internals ranging from application to device driver layers indicates that hidden H/W-level contentions involving DMA heavily consume CPU cycles. We propose a contention avoidance design of thread role assignment and prove our design can flatten per-thread CPU cycle consumptions.
