this paper presents the design of a continuous control set model predictive control (CCS-MPC) for a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). the CCS-MPC is designed for the control of the stator currents of a PMSM following a similar scheme to the one introduced in field-oriented control (FOC). In the presented CCS-MPC, the proposed cost function is modified by the introduction of a set of orthogonal functions known as Laguerre functions. Furthermore, an exponential cost function is introduced to afford long horizon predictions. the control law is derived by the formulation of a constrained optimization problem. By the introduction of the Laguerre functions and the exponential cost function, the computational burden is reduced and a long prediction horizon can be accomplished. Simulation results on Matlab/Simulink are presented to verify the performance of the proposed methodology.

this paper presents an identification system for model parameters of a magnetorheological damper (MRD) through a Genetic Algorithm (GA). First, a novel model of the hysteretic phenomenon is introduced through the trigonometric function tanh, which represents an alternative simple model for MRD. Moreover, the representative curve of the dampers is demonstrated by means of simulation. Finally, model validation is carried out through an experimental non-linear parameters identification based on GA. An advantage of this method is that does not require filtered data, and model parameterization is not required. the employed Genetic Algorithm in identification system was programming by means of the Evolver tool, which is an additional Excel package.

this paper deals with a model reference adaptive based control for an unmanned aircraft under payload variations. this situation is motivated by some tasks performed by autonomous aircrafts in precision agriculture, for example seed dispersal or spraying pesticides, where the vehicle payload is released during flight. this payload variation involves a change of the vehicle mass as well as the inertia moments. thus, it is necessary to apply a feedback controller to counteract this phenomena while a hovering flight is performed. In this study, a backstepping-like adaptive control approach based on model reference adaptive procedure is designed. Finally, some numerical simulations to test the performance of the designed controller using MATLAB Simulink are developed.
