though model predictive control can systematically handle the control problem of multi-input multi-output system under state and input constraints, it heavily depends upon the model of the controlled system. the non-parametric nature of the Gaussian Process endows it with the flexibility of modeling various practical systems and, more importantly, the ability to provide the level of confidence in its predictions, which makes it preferable to the model predictive control. therefore, in this paper, these two approaches are combined into a whole scheme, called the Gaussian Process Predictive Control, which can make the system avoid some relatively uncertain areas, through incorporating the variance into the objective function. then with some mild assumptions, the closed system stability and recursive feasibility is guaranteed theoretically, and validated by a standard simulation example.

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are crucial in industrial automation, making proficiency in their use an es-sential skill for engineering students. Choosing the right platform for teaching PLC programming in universities, however, may be challenging. this paper summarizes, compares and evaluates various software platforms used in universities. the leading platforms could be identified based on a defined criteria frame-work encompassing cost, accessibility, learning curve, industry relevance, supported languages, and additional features. through detailed examination and discussion, the platforms that offer the most efficient and effective learning experience for PLC program-ming education in universities could be identified. this selection should further be justified by considering additional factors like instructor experience, student preferences, institutional support, and geographical location. this paper not only highlights the strengths and weaknesses of different platforms but also provides valuable insights and recommendations for universities seeking to optimize their PLC programming curriculum. the findings hold the potential to enhance the quality of PLC programming education, better preparing students for successful careers in automation-driven industries.

Swift is the new programming language for Apple platforms such as MacOS and iOS, and it is the basis of the SwiftUI mobile app framework. the language incorporates first-class functions, open classes, and other advanced features. In this paper we describe a tool for translating UML and OCL specifications into fully-functional code in Swift. It has great importance to provide the highest accuracy from fingerprint identification and verification systems, which have a large number of biometric features. Fingerprint recognition systems are more widely utilized than other biometric feature recognition systems. For this reason, a fingerprint recognition system must be fast and reliable to realize the separation of the fake and live fingerprints and provide high accuracy. In this study fingerprint liveness detection system is presented using LivDet2015 dataset. SVM (Support Vector Machine), CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), CNN+SVM methods are used for classification and their performances are compared. Especially the classifying performance of CNN method is analyzed. Before the classification process is performed with SVM, edge enrichment, transformation and feature extraction steps are applied on images as preprocessing steps. the highest accuracy rate is obtained by using CNN-deep learning classifier. © 2022 IEEE.

Cloud computing is one of the most used distributed systems for data processing and data storage. With the continuous increase in the demands of the data processed by cloud computing, addressing this need through emerging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) mega-constellation has received widespread attention due to its global low-latency access. In this paper, We propose to realize cloud services through LEO mega-constellation networks and present the cloud synergy framework of satellite-cloud integrated networks (SCIN). We design a simple but effective real-time agent handover strategy under satellite-cloud integrated networks that is based on dynamic programming (DP). For the assurance of real-time, we also modify it to the greedy approach which can obtain a competitive result at a lower cost. the simulation test on starlink-550 mega-constellation shows that the proposed handover approaches outperform the traditional approaches in terms of blocking ratio.

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are expected to play an important part in the power system of the future to meet an increasing share of the electricity demand from renewable energy sources. this paper deals with the sizing and operation optimization of a hybrid a PV system with different battery technologies, namely lithium-ion, vanadium redox flow, and sodium-sulfur batteries, to cover a specified proportion of the electricity demand. Based on PV production and electricity consumption profiles a linear optimization was executed for the whole year of 2022 with a 15-minute resolution to calculate the optimal size of PV and BESS. the hybrid systems with optimal sizing offer cost savings between 10 and 25% compared to the case where all electricity is purchased from the day-ahead market. the results also reveal that PV overbuilding offers a cheaper way to increase the share of the demand covered by renewables at current investment cost levels, while the implementation of BESS is only feasible at lower investment costs.

In this paper, a novel Trust Region based Sequential Linear programming (TRSLP) method is proposed for unscheduled intentional islanding in microgrid. In unscheduled islanding, the solution must be obtained with minimum time and minimum load curtailment by maintaining all the system parameter constraints intact. First, the unscheduled intentional islanding is formulated as a nonlinear constrained optimization problem. then, the TRSLP based optimization method is employed to obtain the final switching sequence of the network so that intentional islanding can be done in optimal manner. the objective function of the optimization problem is to minimize the amount of load curtailment. To validate the proposed technique, a 7-bus microgrid test system is simulated in Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS) and corresponding system parameters are further used in the TRSLP optimization technique to get the optimal islanding area. © 2021 IEEE.

the transmission of power from large-scale renewable energy-thermal power bundled installations via LCC-HVDC transmission system is considered as a crucial method. To ensure system stability and minimize operational costs, a stability constrained robust unit commitment (UC) model is proposed. First, the model formulates stability constraints, including short-circuit current, voltage stability, and frequency stability. Next, accounting for the N-1 safety criterion, a robust UC model is developed to handle multiple discrete scenarios. then, a linear equivalent transformation method is devised for the proposed UC model, facilitating the conversion of the original problem into a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem. Finally, a modified IEEE 39-bus system is tested to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

With the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources, the frequency security of power systems is increasingly challenged. In this paper, we propose a frequency constrained unit commitment (FCUC) to determine the optimal reserve for diversified frequency support resources (DFSRs), ensuring that the system's frequency response capability after power disturbances meets the specified requirements. DFSRs and load frequency relief (LFR) are considered based on the inertia dependent frequency reserve (IDFR) model, and a joint model-data driven approach is proposed to address the challenges of frequency response analytical expression and maximum frequency deviation constraint convexification arising from the consideration of LFR. Finally, the proposed FCUC is transformed into a mixed-integer linear programming model and validated through case study on the IEEE 39-bus system, demonstrating its effectiveness.

In the era of big data, Apache Beam is widely used because it provides a unified programming model and supports multiple data processing engines. At the same time, data lake is becoming more and more widely used. However, Apache Beam is not currently interconnected with the data lake. In this paper, we proposed DataLakeIO, a connector between Apache Beam and data lake. First, a Apache Beam pipeline is initialized. then, Apache Beam ingests the data from the data source, converts it to Row type, and put it into pipeline. then, Apache Beam passes the data and parameters to the write method of DataLakeIO. In this method, a Spark session is created based on these parameters, the data is converted into a Dataset, and finally stored in data lake. the process for Apache Beam to ingest data from data lake into its pipeline is similar. this connector supports the interconnection of Apache Beam with Delta Lake, Apache Hudi, and Apache Iceberg, which shows the extensibility for data lakes. the experimental result shows the efficiency of DataLakeIO.
