On-road vehicle CO2 emission is stochastic and is presently not feasible to be solved using hard computing methodologies due to computational cost. this paper presents an on-road paratransit vehicle CO2 emission estimation model using an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). With input parameters, namely, the speed, slope, and acceleration, three ANFIS clustering types were utilized. Results have shown that Fuzzy-C means clustering method (FCM) obtained the best performance concerning error rates and computation simplicity. Specifically, it has yielded 13.38% NRMSE using five membership functions per input and five fuzzy rules. the grid partitioning (GP) obtained the worst prediction output while the subtractive clustering method (SCM) has comparable prediction accuracy with FCM but has a higher computational cost compared to the latter. the proposed estimation model is beneficial for paratransit vehicles wherein the state-of-the-art on-road emission models are deemed unsuitable. © 2021 IEEE.

software development life cycle (SDLC) depicts the necessary software development activities while applying methods in different software types. Previous works documented the software activities either by taking into account the development method or the software type. However, the documentation of development activities depends on the choice of the method as well as the software type. this paper presents a generic model of software documentation as well as its case study that applies Scrum in the development of an embedded system. the model provides guidelines for engineers to well choose and structure the development of software documents.

model driven software engineering (MDSE) has become a widely adopted approach in software development industry. Besides other software development phases, specifying requirements formally, is a crucial activity for developing model based software systems. there exist a number of formal languages that can be used for formal requirements specification. However, these formal languages are hard to comprehend and difficult to use for formal specification. Nonetheless, in many researches, abstraction of these formal languages is required and their benefits are tremendous. Z Notation is a formal language which guarantees that the software system must meet regulations and standards by specifying clear and unambiguous requirements. this leads to a high quality software and greater user satisfaction. However, formal languages are not welcomed with UML models because of rigorous use of mathematics. A bridge is required to minimize the gap between UML and Formal Requirements Specification languages. therefore, we have presented a meta-model of a relatively mature and widely used Z Notation so that it may facilitate the future researchers by providing a reasonable level of abstraction. this paper aims to reduce the overhead of comprehension of formal language i.e. Z notation and to facilitate model-to-model transformations (source model: UML model, target model: Z Notation model). Further, we have validated the proposed meta-model via case study using UML Use Case. It has been demonstrated through case study that the Meta model facilitates shared understanding among stakeholders and facilitates model to model transformation leading to unambiguous requirements specification but can also be automated for the model based development of such a system which transforms informal requirements into formal Z-Notation specifications.

the usage of smart devices in combination with the extensive deployment of sensors enables the development of systems that can recognize their environment and act accordingly. these so-called context-aware systems allow the automation of the user interactions by providing the desired functionality based on an understanding of the users' current context. During the development of such systems, the context-related system properties, the contextual functionalities, as well as the underlying contexts must be defined. UML models are a valuable tool for such tasks. In this publication, the previous research regarding the graphical representation of context-aware systems is analysed. It is shown that the modelling of contextual behaviour is still not addressed sufficiently. To counter this issue, contextual design templates are introduced. these templates allow the visualization of different system properties by combining the UML standard notation with a newly introduced notation for stating contexts. Further, a profile for the modelling of contexts and related system functionalities is presented.

Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) benefit from the advantages of the cloud computing environment. these enterprises have limited resources. Consequently, SMEs require a structured software process model to develop a reliable and good quality cloud software. Existing cloud software process (CSP) models focused only on the processes of software development and ignored the other aspects of software production. In this paper, a conceptual view for Cloud software Life Cycle Process (CSLCP) model is proposed. this model overcomes the deficiencies of existing CSP models. Also, it satisfies the development of a reliable and high quality cloud software. the CSLCP model is compatible with level two and three of the capability maturity model integration (CMMI). It extends the software process improvement (SPI) model, developed in Egypt for SMEs, to suit the cloud environment. the application of the CSLCP model in SMEs would improve their level of maturity

Project management is important for the success of a software project. Enhancing software project management effectiveness measurements should lead the project manager to advance practices that contribute to the successful development of software projects. this study aims to enhance project management effectiveness measurements in the direction of increase the likelihood of software project success. An enhanced evaluation model of software project management effectiveness has been proposed in this study. Correspondingly, the model fed into a developed software project management effectiveness evaluation tool. this measurement tool helps software development managers to evaluate, monitor and improve project management effectiveness in software projects. the developed software project management effectiveness evaluation tool has been validated by a feedback survey. Feedback survey participants have been demonstrated the importance of the developed project management effectiveness measurement tool.

With the advance of the energy industry and the Internet, electricity data sharing has unleashed the full potential for social production during the past decade. However, electricity data inference attack will incur the disclosure of private information and the unavailability of valuable data, thus deteriorating national security and affecting the conversion of energy big data to social public service *** cope with this challenge in electricity shared data, EPSTO-ARIMA (Electric Power Stochastic optimization Predicting model Based on Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) was proposed to increase prediction error of attackers by utilizing the concept of stochastic sampling, optimization, data poisoning and adversarial examples. the generation of adversarial examples is interfered with the prediction effect of EPSTO-ARIMA. the model was validated by seven sets of data from three datasets. Experimental results indicate that EPSTO-ARIMA could increase prediction error. For publicly dataset “Column2”, the proposed EPSTO-ARIMA achieves 61.31% higher prediction error than ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model), respectively. Simultaneously, the terrific results in other datasets have also been ascertained the viability and generalization ability of our proposed EPSTO-ARIMA.

the use of the MathML language made possible to improve the accessibility of mathematics for blind or low-vision persons in digital media. Synthetic speech technologies have advanced significantly using MathML, however, the speech synthesizers' standard reading style is still not suitable for mathematics. Making mathematical reading of the speech synthesizers more natural and expressive is still a challenge. the creation of models to produce the appropriate prosody in the synthesized speech of math content is therefore necessary, as shown in previous research. this article presents a proposal for a model to improve prosody in the synthesized speech of mathematical expressions based on MathML. A corpus of mathematical expressions spoken by Mathematics teachers was created to support the model's development. the Fujisaki intonation model was adopted for intonation control, accent and phrase commands have been extracted from the corpus, and some adjustments have been made to manipulate prosodic parameters in the speech of mathematical expression in correlation with the MathML tree; additionally, a pattern of pauses control is being created.

the development of useful and usable interactive software systems depends on both User Interface (UI) design and software engineering in a complementary way. However, today, application development and UI design are largely separated activities and fields of knowledge. this separation is also present in education as can be witnessed from the common independent way of teaching of both subjects. Although the development of better interactive software systems could benefit significantly from an integrative teaching approach, there is a lack of concrete and proven approaches for such way of teaching. this paper presents technology enhanced support for filling this gap. the proposed tool supports and improves learning achievements for the development of interactive software systems. the learning support includes feedback for conceptual modeling integrated with UI design. the tool applies model driven engineering principles that allows the automatic generation of a working prototype from specification models. this capability allows the learner trying out the final application while validating the requirements. An experimental evaluation with novice developers demonstrates the advantages of this didactic tool. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
