With the rapid development of Internet technology and massive demands of data sharing, data privacy issues have attracted more and more attention in recent years. the paper analyzes the network traffic classification methods and designs the features subset selection algorithm based on information entropy. the proposed privacy preserving algorithm is based on data perturbation. By applying the algorithm on the real network traffic data set, it is shown that the network traffic data protected by the algorithm can effectively ensure data security while maintaining data utility, which contributes to balance the contradiction between them in existing algorithms. It effectively solves the privacy leakage problem of network traffic in the process of data mining.

Sensitivity analysis is a powerful tool for studying and improving the reliability of large and complicated mathematical models. Air pollution and meteorological models are in front places among the examples of such models, with a lot of natural uncertainties in their input data sets and parameters. We present here some results of our global sensitivity study of the Unified Danish Eulerian Model (UNI-DEM). One of the most attractive features of UNI-DEM is its advanced chemical scheme - the Condensed CBM IV, which consider in detail a large number of chemical species and numerous reactions between them. Four efficient stochastic algorithms (Sobol QMC, Halton QMC, Fibonacci lattice rule and Latin hypercube sampling) have been used and compared by their accuracy in studying the sensitivity of ammonia and ozone concentration results with respect to the emission levels and some chemical reactions rates. the numerical experiments show that the stochastic algorithms under consideration are quite efficient for this purpose, especially for evaluating the contribution of small by value sensitivity indices.

Loosely-Coupled distributed System has extensive application in data-intensive real-time fields;How to verify the function and performance of software architecture is an important and valuable issue. Aimed at this problem, a verification method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the corresponding system model is established for describing the system. Secondly, according to the requirements of the verified system, the corresponding simulation components are automatically generated and the system is deployed;the simulation of the verified system is completed and the rationality of the system is evaluated and optimized. Finally, according to the development progress, the system gradually replaces the simulation components with real components and the final verification of the system is realized.

More and more people suffer from chronic diseases such as the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). this leads to very high treatment costs every year, as such patients require a periodic screening of their condition. However, many of these checks can be performed at home by the patients themselves. this enables physicians to focus on actual emergencies. Modern smart devices such as Smartphones contribute to the success of these telemedical approaches. So-called mHealth apps combine the usability and versatility of Smart phones with the high accuracy and reliability of medical devices for home use. However, patients often face the problem of how to connect medical devices to their Smartphones (the device interoperability problem). Moreover, many patients reject mHealth apps due to the lack of control over their sensitive health data (the information security problem). In our work, we discuss the usage of the Privacy Management Platform (PMP) to solve these problems. So, we describe the structure of mHealth apps and present a real-world COPD application. From this application we derive relevant functions of an mHealth app, in which device interoperability or information security is an issue. We extend the PMP in order to provide support for these recurring functions. Finally, we evaluate the utility of these PMP extensions based on the real-world mHealth app.

Leader election is a classical problem in distributed system applications. there are many leader election algorithms, but we focus here on Bully Algorithm (BA). the main drawback of BA algorithm is the high number of messages passing. In BA algorithm, the message passing has order O (n2) that increases heavy traffic on the network. In this paper, an Adaptive BA (ABA) is proposed to reduce the number of messages and make the leader election operation more flexible and safer. the proposed algorithm is based on the Highest Process Identification (HPI) and the Next HPI (NHPI) to facilitate the leader election operation. Moreover, the repetition of the leader election is stopped when the candidate coordinator fails. Our analytical equations show that the ABA algorithm is more efficient rather than BA algorithm, in both, the number of message passing and the latency, and the message passing complexity decreased to O(n). © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Huge energy consumption of large-scale cloud data centers damages environments with excessive carbon emission. More and more data center operators are seeking to reduce carbon footprint via various types of renewable energy. However, the intermittent availability of renewable energy sources makes it quite challenging to cooperate with dynamically arriving workload. Meanwhile, the different natures (eg, price and carbon emission) of multiple energy sources also bring more challenges to achieve an optimal trade-off among carbon emission, power cost, and service level agreement (SLA). In this paper, we study the problem of reducing the long-term energy cost for geo-distributed cloud centers, where multiple sources of renewable energy are considered and SLA requirement and carbon budget are satisfied. To tackle the randomness of workload arrival, varying electricity price, and intermittent supply of renewable energy, we first formulate the cost minimization problem as a constraint stochastic optimization problem. Second, based on Lyapunov optimization technique, we propose an online control algorithm to solve it and provide the rigorous theory analysis to demonstrate its performance. By converting the long-term optimization problem to a mixed integer linear programming problem in each time slot, we analyze its inherent structure and propose an efficient algorithm to solve it based on Brenner's method. Our proposed algorithm makes online decisions rely only on the current system state and achieve [O(1V),O(V)] cost emission trade-off. Finally, the effectiveness of our algorithm is evaluated by extensive simulations based on real-world data traces.

Maintaining population diversity is critical to the performance of a Genetic Algorithm (GA). Applying appropriate strategies for measuring population diversity is important in order to ensure that the mechanisms for controlling population diversity are provided with accurate feedback. Sequence-wise approaches to measuring population diversity have demonstrated their effectiveness in assisting with maintaining population diversity for ordered problems, however these processes increase the computational costs for solving ordered problems. Research in distributed GAs have demonstrated how applying different distribution models can affect an GA's ability to scale and effectively search the solution space. this paper proposes a distributed GA with adaptive parameter controls for solving ordered problems such as the travelling salesman problem(TSP), capacitated vehicle routing problem (CVRP) and the job-shop scheduling problem (JSSP). Extensive experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach.

With concepts such as the Internet of things becoming more commonplace, greater emphasis must be placed on data privacy in large-scale public networks for these to be used securely without the threat of data theft. Most current distributed processing research deals with improving the flexibility and convergence speed of algorithms for networks of finite size with no constraints on information sharing and no concept for expected levels of signal privacy. In this work we investigate the concept of data privacy in unbounded public networks, where processing approximation is seen as a means to restrict information travel. We describe a practical method to use during processing aggregation stages that may be implemented in hardware to restrict the distance that data is shared. this method is efficient to implement, and requires very few update iterations to perform. We simulate the method and demonstrate its performance for the task of distributed acoustic beamforming in microphone sensor networks.

the use of Partial Differential Equation models for studying traffic flows has a fairly long history. this paper deals with the Cauchy problem of a two-component Camassa-Holm equation. First, we prove that the solution ρ keeps the property of having compact support for any further time provided the initial data ρ_0 has compact support. While the initial data m_0 has compact support then the solution m will remain compactly supported, only if ρ is also initially compactly supported. then, we get the infinite propagation speed in the sense that the solution u with compactly supported initial data does not have compact support any longer in its lifespan. Although the nontrivial solution u is no longer compactly supported, a detailed description about the profile of the solution u is shown as it evolves over time.

For the development and maintenance of distributed systems, it is useful to analyze the system condition and utilization for each hardware component. With pulseAT, a tool has been developed which collects that system utilization systematically with lightweight pulseAT Agents. the hierarchical structure of pulseAT allows having all system utilization data at one place on a pulseAT Manager to show an overall current health condition of the system. A cloud-based pulseAT Analyzer stores the data into a time-based database to support long-term analyses and to process analyzing algorithms, e.g., to forecast future health conditions. this paper describes the structure of pulseAT, main concepts, e.g., how the response time for each component is calculated. Some technical details of the implementation are shown. Finally, it describes how pulseAT has been tested on a mobile robot, the DAEbot.
