In order to identify architectural flaws in things made using additive manufacturing, this investigation suggested a method that utilized machine learning (ML) frameworks. The ML models are used to identify flaws in real manufacturing after being developed on artificial 3d point clouds containing faults. A substantial quantity of instruction effort and related expenses connected with several printing for every concept might be avoided by using synthesized clouds of three-dimensional points instead of data collected from experiments. This technique introduces a new notion termed “patch” to gather macroeconomic knowledge regarding neighboring points to facilitate neural network training and delivery, in addition to calculating the distance variations between distinct units across the source and the target cloud points. According to computational evaluations of forecasting outcomes on experiments with varying forms, the suggested approach worked better than the Z-difference technique that is currently in use in the available literature. aforementioned artificial intelligence techniques-Bagging of Trees, Gradient Boosting, Random Forest, K-nearest Neighbors, and Linear Supported Vector Machine-were tested in a range of scenarios with varying fault dimensions and data point volumes. In terms of reliability, it was discovered that the two most successful methods were The bagging procedure and Random Forest; 20 had been found to be the ideal patches number. With the use of an appropriate 3d data collecting structure, the suggested machine learning (ML)-based technique may be used for right away recognizing defects throughout additive manufacturing.

additive manufacturing (AM) is becoming increasingly prevalent in diverse industries due to its ability to manufacture intricate and unique components at lower production costs. despite its advantages in design flexibility and waste reduction, AM presents new challenges in real-time visibility, control mechanisms, and user interfaces. While existing web interfaces like OctoPrint offer partial solutions for monitoring the 3d printing process, Augmented Reality (AR) interfaces hold promise in enhancing real-time control and monitoring by overlaying computer-generated information onto the physical manufacturing environment. However, research on utilizing AR for remote collaboration and control of AM machines remains limited. This paper addresses this gap by proposing designing and developing an application that integrates an AR interface with a Fused deposition modeling (FdM) printer, enabling remote monitoring and control using Microsoft's AR headset, HoloLens2. The proposed system incorporates the usage of open-source projects such as OctoPrint for retrieving data from 3d printer, Printerface for establishing communication between 3d printer and desktop server, Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK) for the development of AR interface, and enterprise Photon Unity Networking 2 (PUN2) to establish the connection and achieve real-time communication with minimum latency close to 937 milliseconds. The measured time for data transmission between Octoprint and Unity desktop Server is 0.01569 milliseconds and 936 milliseconds between Unity desktop Server and AR client.

One of the main objectives of Fusion deposit modeling (FdM) is to sketch and produce functional components for production unit such as in engineering field and medical field. These examinations and how this can be applied in future investigations and in real applications. A methodical artistic pursuit was led dependent on the order dependent on the sort of 3d printing polymer. The most significant cycle boundaries that are accepted to influence the strain and adaptability of FdM models are talked about while considering the outcomes introduced in the writing. Aerosol jet printing (AJP) is a direct-write, additive manufacturing technique, which has emerged as the process of choice for the fabrication of a broad spectrum of electronics - such as, interconnects, sensors, transistors, electrodes, and antennae - toward consistent and uniform manufacture of flexible and hybrid electronic devices. The AJP has paved the way for rapid high-resolution device fabrication;it accommodates a wide range of ink viscosity and allows for material deposition with high placement accuracy, edge definition, and adhesion on non-planer surfaces. despite the unique advantages and engendered strategic applications, the AJP process is intrinsically unstable and complex, prone to non-linear gradual drifts, which stem from process, machine, and metrical interactions. Consequently, real-time process monitoring and control, corroborated with physical models, is a burgeoning need.

With the rapid development of three-dimensional (3d) printing techniques, more materials, ranging from polymer materials, such as polylactic acid and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, to metal and ceramic materials, have been employed to realize blueprints. Among these, 3d printing of ceramics has developed rapidly in the past decade, and it greatly influences ceramics modeling designs. This technique has overcome the limitations of traditional ceramic processes and allows designers to produce creative parts more freely. For ceramic 3d printing, path designing is required. However, limited by the traditional knowledge of 3d printing path design, ceramic printing materials cannot be integrated with traditional printing paths. To solve this problem, herein, we review ceramic 3d printing designs over the past decade and combine computer-aided manufacturing technology to identify innovative cases and methods for designing ceramic 3d printing paths. This article provides good references for scientific research on ceramic design and innovation.

Improving additive manufacturing (AM) products is important since these technologies still have some limitations that restrict production. These limitations are associated with the size of the build envelope, the materials available and the possibility of multi-material fabrication. For this particular case, there are two different strategies: (i) one, is to build fittings that can act as mechanical connections for different parts, or (ii), to embed the parts as external components in the AM build process of the fittings. This paper presents exploratory research to quickly improve AM ceramic products by AM polymeric fittings in the two strategies presented. The overall aim is to describe a methodology that can optimize products using AM material extrusion technology and that can be used for the production of hybrid products.

In this work, we describe the rapid prototyping of a microfluidic device for the surfactant free encapsulation of human liver cells (HepG2 cell line) in gelatin microgels, for the purpose of 3d tissue mimics in high-throughput cytotoxicity screening. Chips with rectangular channels of approximately 260 mu m high by 350 mu m wide produced a droplet size of 130 +/- 12 mu m at a rate of 7.9 +/- 0.6 drops per second. Integrated water heating and cooling systems were efficient at regulating channel temperature, preventing the coalescence of droplets within the device without any need for surfactants. HepG2 cell viability two hours after microgel generation was 96.5%.

Recent developments in materials and processes for additive manufacturing (AM) have moved 3d printing beyond just prototyping of manufactured parts and into exciting new applications. For example, various researchers and industries have successfully demonstrated the use of conductive filler modification in materials for use with fused deposition modeling (FdM)-based 3d printers. due to the piezoresistive effect, these conductive filler-modified materials can be used to print highly customizable sensors on-demand. This is notable because combined with the versatility of FdM printing, it allows for a completely new interpretation of what a sensor is and what a sensor should look like. The accuracy and reliability of these sensors is still under investigation, and common AM materials such as polylactic acid (PLA) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) have been the subject of most investigations. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a commercially available flexible filament, has been less studied for conductive filler modification and printed sensors. This is an important gap in the state of the art because flexible sensors are becoming increasingly important in applications involving large deformations such as soft robotics. Therefore, this work presents the results of an initial study on the development of a carbon nanofiber (CNF)-modified TPU for the development of flexible piezoresistive-based printed sensors. Specifically, this work considers the effect of different manufacturing parameters on CNF/TPU conductivity and printability using a commercially available FdM printer. Ultimately, this project seeks to utilize the proposed functionalized TPU material for the production of embedded sensors in rigid or flexible 3d printed parts.

The digital system modeling plays an important role to plan, design, cost-effective layouts, and market-driven implementation of the physical devices such as electric vehicles, 3d-home, and aircrafts. Based on the client demands, requirements, and specifications, manufacturing company is sending physical items or layouts or STL files to destinations which can be local and international places. Unfortunately, it is a challenging, expensive, risky, and time consuming task. Interesting, the internet of things (IoT) can play an important role to transfer design layout to the qualified and intended destination for verification and fabrication. Regrettably, attacker can hack, modify, steal, and destroy layout and prototype over networks. due to industrial revolution, the additive manufacturing industry is the second most vulnerable sector after financial institution where cyber attack can play significant impact. This paper summarises the cyber physical additive manufacturing systems security and privacy issues and provide a secure IoT communication architecture. In order to improve the security and privacy, we proposed an innovative IoT communication network where information is securely transferred to the destination.

additive manufacturing (AM) is a promising technology for the rapid prototyping and production of highly customized products. The scheduling of AM machines has an essential role in increasing profitability and has recently received a great deal of attention. This paper investigates the scheduling of batch processing of parallel 3d-printing machines to minimize the total weighted tardiness. Accordingly, a mathematical model is proposed to formulate the problem considering the sequence-dependent setup time and incompatible job families, where jobs of different families are processed with different materials and desired quality. due to the high complexity of the problem, an efficient matheuristic algorithm is presented based on the hybridization of a genetic algorithm and a local search method based on mixed integer programming (MIP). Computational results show that the proposed approach is efficient and promising to solve the problem.
