With the diversification of reconnaissance equipment and methods in the military field, optical stealth technology has become a hot spot in military research under the operational needs of optoelectronic confrontation. An improved self-adaptive visible light and infrared waveband stealth algorithm is proposed here, and its effectiveness under photoelectric confrontation is evaluated. The current digital camouflage design method is mainly through background color mixing, image segmentation, spot combination, etc. It has the defects of smooth and clear edge contour, fixed color/texture scene, and cannot adapt to complex texture background or multiple types of scenes. An improved digital camouflage design method based on fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) image processing technology is proposed to obtain the color characteristics of the background image. Then, the color block types of the camouflage spots are acquired to reduce the loss of texture information of the background image caused by clustering or segmentation to avoid the phenomenon of clear boundaries caused by single region segmentation. The results show that the use of adaptive optical stealth algorithms in the visible and infrared bands can reduce the probability of being discovered in optoelectronic countermeasures, thereby gaining a head start. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

An improved sparse representation algorithm is proposed for reducing speckle noise in optical coherence tomography (OCT) images. To reduce the dictionary training time, the orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm (OMP) is replaced by a piecewise orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm (ST-OMP), and a threshold standard is set to train multiple atoms simultaneously to improve the tracking efficiency. Normal, diabetic macular edema, and fundus neovascularization membrane retina OCT images were tested using the proposed algorithm and other denoising algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits an excellent denoising ability. The details and edge information in the OCT images were well preserved by the proposed algorithm. Meanwhile, the image processing time was reduced by half with the proposed algorithm compared with the traditional K-SVD algorithm.

This paper illustrates the improved signal processing system architecture and processing flow for a two-dimensional (2- D) phased array digital multi-beam radar. 2D phased array digital multi-beam radar is required to achieve electronically scanning in both azimuth and elevation, which demands higher processing performance of the system. To improve the real-time performance of the system, we modify the signal processing system architecture. In this paper, we will focus on DSP to demonstrate the utility of the improved system architecture and processing flow. And a new detection strategy which combines dual-threshold variable index constant false alarm (DT-vi-CFAR) and 2-D Cell Average CFAR (CACFAR) is proposed. Practical validation shows that this detection strategy significantly reduces the complexity compared to traditional 2-D CA-CFAR, while improving the detection probability compared to traditional DT-vi-CFAR. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.

Due to the high delay and large inertia characteristics, there are issues with inefficient regulation and energy waste in district heating systems. Improving the predictive ability of regional heating load can help improve the accuracy of thermal network control. In order to improve the accuracy of heating load prediction, this paper proposes a new heating load prediction algorithm, STL-IEA-LSTM, which combines LSTM model with information entropy attention mechanism to separately model the data modeling of heating load after STL algorithm decomposition, so as to enhance the prediction ability of heating load. The experimental evaluation conducted on the operating data of a heating station in Shijiazhuang during the heating season demonstrated that the STL-IEA-LSTM combination model constructed in this study achieved a MAPE of 0.7031%, indicating its superior performance in predicting heating load. Comparative analysis with other models, including STL-LSTM, entropy-based LSTM, classic LSTM, XGBoost, and MLP, further confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed method in achieving high prediction accuracy. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Long-Distance OFDR With High Spatial Resolution Based on Time Division Multiplexing

In this study, a long-distance optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) with high spatial resolution based on time division multiplexing is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Distributed strain sensing with high spatial resolution over long sensing range can be realized by reconfiguring the system layout in a time-division-multiplexed manner by re-routing the measurement signals for segmented processing with extra circulators and couplers only, rather than any other mechanisms for performance improvement of laser source or algorithms for nonlinear errors compensation. Through time-division-multiplexed reconfiguration, the sensing distance is no longer restricted by the path difference of the auxiliary interferometer which is commonly employed in OFDR systems for compensating laser frequency tuning nonlinearity. Compared with the traditional system layout, the proposed system allows distributed measurement with flexible spatial resolutions in each sub-sensing unit without any crosstalk among them. In experiments, distributed strain sensing with spatial resolution up to 5mm is achieved over an active sensing distance of 225m by the proposed system. Furthermore, the spatial resolution flexibility of the proposed system is further verified by successfully obtaining the strain information with 2 mm spatial resolution at the end of a 235-m-long fiber.

In the use of barcodes for commodity identification, the barcode recognition of non-planar commodities has the problem of a high error rate. Hence, designing commodity intelligent systems based on image correction was carried out. The proposed fisheye-image aberration correction technique was used to eliminate the aberrations in the image and improve the barcode recognition accuracy. At the same time, it was combined with the hardware system to recognize commodities rapidly. Through experiments, it is verified that the system has the function of commodity recognition and can improve the accuracy of non-planar commodity barcode recognition. © 2024 SPIE.

The purpose of this study is to develop an autonomous and controllable voltage real-time calculation system based on Flink framework to improve the efficiency and accuracy of power equipment monitoring and management. The preprocessed data results are input to the least square support vector machine, and the Lagrange multiplier is introduced to construct a prediction model for the voltage prediction of the substation, thus completing the early warning of the low voltage substation. The experimental results show that the prediction error of the model is less than 1.5%, the delay time is 67ms, and the resource utilization ratio is 78%. This shows that the voltage real-time calculation system based on Flink framework can effectively improve the efficiency and accuracy of power equipment monitoring and management, and has important application value in the operation of power system. © 2024 SPIE.

High-speed data transmission in challenging aquatic environments may be possible with underwater optical communication (UWOC) systems. Nonetheless, displaying light proliferation submerged is complicated because of dissipating, retention, and other water-explicit properties. In this paper, we present a novel methodology that propels conventional Monte Carlo simulation procedures to work on both adaptiveness and effectiveness in UWOC framework simulation. Our work presents a more sensible photon communication model that adjusts to various water types, like clear sea, beach front waters with turbid conditions, by consolidating wavelength-dependent scattering and attenuation effects. Polarization effects, which have an effect on how light behaves in these underwater channels, are also taken into account. Not at all like earlier examinations, the proposed simulation is validated utilizing real time information, prompting more down to earth and solid outcomes. We introduce an adaptive optimization algorithm that automatically adjusts the communication parameters in real time to make the simulation even more effective. This permits the framework to limit the bit error rate (BER), guaranteeing ideal execution under changing circumstances. Furthermore, by consolidating machine learning procedures, we can anticipate the best correspondence boundaries without expecting to run broad reproductions for each new situation. The system becomes more responsive as a result. The proposed methodology propels the UWOC frameworks by giving an adaptable and strong structure equipped for taking care of the remarkable difficulties of various aquatic conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

The expansion of edge computing has led to a shift in server deployment strategies, with an increasing preference for server hardware in outdoor environments. This shift is primarily aimed at reducing the latency of data processing and improving the utilization of network bandwidth. Despite the obvious potential benefits, outdoor environments present numerous challenges that can detract from the stability and reliability of server operations. Factors such as temperature changes, humidity levels, and exposure to natural elements can greatly affect server performance. In light of these challenges, this article explores the evolution of complex diagnostic systems for edge servers. On the basis of high-protection micro-outdoor cabinets, the research focuses on the design of complex real-time server monitoring and fault prediction algorithms. These algorithms are essential for early identification of potential problems, enabling preventative maintenance actions and reducing downtime. The overall goal of this study is to enhance the operational consistency of outdoor servers and ensure their efficient functionality under harsh conditions. In addition, by reducing the need for frequent and expensive maintenance, the proposed system aims to reduce the overall operating costs associated with managing servers. © The Authors.

Fall detection plays an important role in the healthcare of older adults. Falls are reported to be the leading cause of death in people over the age of 65. For fall detection, computer vision-based methods are currently the best performing methods. This paper proposes a fall detection system with a Orangepi 5B development board as the core processor and a shape and motion change method. First, we use the viBE detection algorithm to extract human silhouettes from the video, and improve the effect through certain post-processing. Then, the information obtained by ellipse fitting and the vertical and horizontal projections in the projection map are used as features to distinguish different postures of the human body. The abnormal downward movement speed measured by the optical flow method was used to preliminarily judge the fall, and then the occurrence of the fall was determined by the auxiliary judgment of the posture feature. Experiments show that our fall detection system achieves good performance in terms of both accuracy and error. © 2024 SPIE.
