It is still a difficult problem for the synthesis of combined facial expressions in realistic facial animation. In this paper, we present an approach to synthesize combined facial expressions. The approach exploits a uniform model which is based on the anatomical structure of human face to record the facial expressions as facial vectors. Then different facial expressions are synthesized by combining different facial vectors. In this paper, we also develop an action interpretation system for the facial animation. This system defines some primitives of facial states and some rules for the combination of primitives. So the continuous and complex facial animations can be made by combining the primitives and the interval time

Embedded serial data-network converter (ESDNC) is based on high-speed Ethernet communication technique and real-time operating system (RTOS). It is a serial equipment which incorporates Ethernet with serial data transmission. ESDNC has many excellent characters. The total design of ESDNC is be introduced; then it respectively elaborates the design of ESDNC's software and hardware. It gives parameters of the interfaces, program flow chart and main program modules; in addition, ESDNC has three typical applications, they are single principal and subordinate mode, bus mode and network mode respectively. The main functions and the key configurations are expatiated on. Practice has proved that the system is very credible

We present in this document the first results of our work concerning the implementation of a non-supervised classification algorithm based on support vector machines (SVM) for color image segmentation. The principle of the technique consists in submitting the RGB color attributes (red, green and blue) of the picture to the algorithm of classification to determine the zones that have the same color and therefore determine the different present objects in the image. Our main contribution is the use of a classification algorithm based on support vector machines for image segmentation

The purpose of facility location models is to select a set of facilities (warehouses, plants, public facilities, antennas, etc.) to be implanted over a given area in order to satisfy the needs of the customers within this area. In this article, we consider a warehouse location problem with round trip distribution. The objective is to minimize the sum of the costs of investment, storage and distribution. In this paper we consider a new type of facility location model, in which the incurred cost is a concave function of the quantity q delivered by the facility. We introduce some properties of an optimal solution and derive heuristic algorithms and a branch and bound method from these properties. Numerical examples illustrate this approach

In this paper, we consider the scheduling of N jobs on a single machine with family setup times in order to minimize the total tardiness. The set of jobs is divided into F families. Between two jobs of the same family, we have not to stop the machine. However, when switching from family to another, a setup is required. Each family is characterized by a setup time independent of the sequence. We propose a set of approaches to compute lower bounds for the tardiness criterion. These approaches are analyzed and tested on a large set of numerical experiments in order to identify the dominant lower bounds

The subject of this work is to establish a mathematical framework that provides the basis and tool for automated reasoning and uncertainty reasoning based on linguistic information. This paper focuses on a flexible and realistic approach, i.e., the use of linguistic terms, specially, the symbolic approach acts by direct computation on linguistic terms. An algebra model with linguistic terms, which is based on a logical algebraic structure, i.e., lattice implication algebra, is constructed and applied to represent imprecise information and deal with both comparable and incomparable linguistic terms (i.e., non-ordered linguistic terms). Some properties and its substructures of this algebraic model are discussed

In this paper, we consider a real time regulation of traffic within a disturbed transportation networks. We aim to find a new schedule for transit system of buses after the detection of a disturbance at a given time. The main objective is to minimize waiting time of transferring and non-transferring passengers at stations. This problem was already studied with evolutionary approach and multi-agents techniques in the case of unlimited buses capacities. In case there is of a limited bus capacity, the problem becomes difficult to solve. In this paper, we will present an approach using genetic algorithms to solve this problem

In order to improve the quality of traditional clustering algorithm and prevent the distribution of data from affecting the clustering algorithm greatly, a clustering algorithm based on interval value was proposed. Depending on the consistency of condition attributes and decision attributes in the decision table, the data was discretized and attributes were reduced by using data super-cube and information entropy. Based on the above, the algorithm can use the additivity of set feature vector to cluster data just by scanning the decision table only one time. Experimental results indicate that the algorithm is efficient and effective

This paper deals with time disturbances localization in critical time manufacturing job-shops. In such systems operation times are included between a minimum and a maximum value. Controlled P-time Petri nets are used for modeling. Some definitions and a series of lemmas are quoted in order to build a theory dealing with such problem. They are illustrated step by step on examples of a given workshop.

In this paper, a new framework for large vocabulary keyword spotting is proposed, which involves three phases. In the first phase, N-best sub-word lattice is generated by hidden Markov model (HMM). Keyword candidates are hypothesized by dynamic keyword matching during the second phase. In the last phase, two-pass confidence measure, which provides complementary information, is used for keyword verification. Experimental results show that, with the use of these improvements, the keyword spotting system proves to be more accurate and robust without much computation cost.
