Manufacturing systems are an example of discrete event systems (DES). They are modular and informationally as well as geographically decentralized. Thus, a centralized diagnoser is not adapted for them. This paper presents a decentralized diagnosis approach to perform the diagnosis of manufacturing systems. This approach is based on a Boolean modelling and event-state-based local diagnosers. The use of a Boolean model is useful to obtain an abstracted model easier to exploit especially in the case of complex systems where the number of states is large. Local diagnosers combine event and state based models to infer the fault's occurrence using event sequences and state conditions characterized by sensors' readings and commands issued by the controller. A co-diagnosability notion is defined in order to verify that the diagnosis performance of the local diagnosers is equivalent to the one of the centralized diagnoser

Image reconstruction of electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is an ill-posed inverse problem. In this work, a new image reconstruction algorithm of ERT for the measurement of two-phase flow is studied. The new algorithm is a hybrid of Tikhonov regularization principle and Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) algorithm. Tikhonov regularization principle is introduced to overcome the instability problem of initial image reconstruction. And, ART algorithm is used to improve the image quality of the original reconstructed image. Experimental results show that the hybrid image reconstruction algorithm can efficiently overcome the ill-posed problem of image reconstruction of ERT and is superior to the sensitivity coefficient algorithm. It is respected to be used in industry.

An adaptive neural robust controller was designed by using adaptive backstepping method for a class of nonlinear uncertain chaotic systems which could be turned to "standard block control type", Furthermore, It is possible to make the network more stable and make the selection of simulation parameter more easy due to the introduction of differential reconstruction which increased the damp of the system. The known dynamics are used to design a feedback controller which ensure the stability of the system. A neural network-based adaptive compensator is designed for compensation of the system uncertainties. It was proved by constructing Lyapunov function step by step that all signals of the system are bounded and exponentially converge to the neighborhood of the origin globally

This paper deals with bootstrapping tests, based on the LM statistic and on a neural statistic, for detecting conditional heteroskedasticity in the context of standard and non-standard ARCH models. Although the tests of the literature are asymptotically valid, they are not exact in finite samples, and suffer from a substantial size distortion, and has to be accounted for. In this paper, we propose to solve this problem using parametric and nonparametric bootstrap methods, based on simulation techniques, making it possible to obtain a better finite-sample estimate of the test statistic distribution than the asymptotic distribution

In this paper, a proportional-integral (PI) controller which integrates the fuzzy system is proposed to solve the tracking problem of a class of nonlinear systems. To achieve this purpose, the gain parameters of PI controller are adapted by proposing adaptation laws, such that an ideal control law for nonlinear systems can be estimated. In addition to a compensated controller is designed to assure the system stability. Both control laws are derived from the Lyapunov stability analysis, so that the system tracking ability and the error convergence can be guaranteed in the closed-loop system. Finally, three nonlinear systems, an oscillation system, an inverted pendulum system, and an electric drive system are respectively utilized to show the satisfactory performances of the proposed control scheme

This paper presents a control synthesis software tool for manufacturing systems with a driven dynamic event. This tool is based on an original control synthesis algorithm which solves the forbidden state problem (FSP) under the following hypothesis: 1) each event may occur at time instants specified by an interval or a union of intervals; 2) two types of events are considered: controllable and uncontrollable events and 3) the evolution of time is discrete. This tool generates a live and maximally permissive controller which can 1) act on the arriving date of controllable events or 2) completely forbid some controllable events. The aim is to guaranty the respect of the given specifications

Multi-task learning techniques can employ the removed redundant information to improve prediction accuracy. Which features to add to the target and/or the input during multi-task learning is still an open issue. The previous study used heuristic search methods. In this paper, a random method of genetic algorithm based multi-task learning (GA- MTL) is proposed to automatically determine the features for the input and/or the target. Experimental results on data sets from the real world show that GA-MTL is easy to use and obtains better performance than heuristic methods.

This paper discusses the 2-unit cold standby redundant systems with repairable and non-repairable failures. It is assumed that the system has 3 operation modes, 2 repairable failure modes and some non-repairable failure modes. As one repairable failure mode takes place, the system will be repaired and the repairs are perfect, otherwise, it would never operate again when attaining one non-repairable failure mode. Thus, many classical reliability indices may become meaningless for having both repairable and non-repairable failures. For example, the steady state availability and failure frequency would become zero. This paper proposes the definitions of new reliability indices and corresponding calculating methods of the system with repairable and non-repairable failures

This paper proposes a new multiscale associated filter, named as the multiscale sequential block Kalman filter (MSBKF). It processes a dynamic system with multisensor of different sampling rate. By combing the wavelet transform and Kalman filtering, the MSBKF is real time, recursive, optimal and has the capability of the multiscale analysis; thus, it overcomes the shortcomings of the existing hybrid wavelet-Kalman filters. New blocked state and measurement systems are presented and reformulated in the multiscale domain by the q-band orthogonal wavelet transformation. New filters are compared with the conventional point Kalman filter via theoretical and numerical analyses

In this paper, the design and optimization problem of low-thrust transfer trajectory with planetary aerogravity assist is studied. To avoid numerical sensitivity, the equinoctial elements are utilized to describe spacecraft motion. The matching condition for design of aerogravity assist trajectory is presented through analyzing the characteristics of aerogravity assist. Then we have discussed the problem formulation of AGA trajectory optimization, and presented a hybrid optimization method, which combines direct with indirect method, and utilizes the costate to parameterize the thrust steering angles time histories. Finally, Taking rendezvous with a Ceres asteroid as an example, the preliminary scheme of transfer trajectory with Mars aerogravity assist is design and optimized by using this approach
