This paper deals with the possibility to study the behavior of a large class of Petri net: weighted T-systems (WTS). We recall recent results which propose to linearize WTS on a marked graph (MG), in order to obtain a model which can be analyzed using tropical algebra like (max, +) or (min, +). In the last part, we present a transformation to extend the previous results. The idea is to introduce synchronization in the model, this kind of transition enrich the model and gives the opportunity to apply the different results

The Effect of Health on Labor Force Participation

Health plays an important part in individual human capital. Studies in the relationship between individual health status and labor participation rate of laborers are urgently needed to be solved in China. We use ordered probit model to process the self-assessed health status. Considering covariate endogeneity and sample selection bias, we use multiple treatment effect method to analyze and meet the consistent estimation on the effect of health status on labor force participation. The result shows that health status significantly affects the individual labor force participation rate of China

A novel method to detect vehicles is presented in the paper. Firstly, hypothesis of the vehicle is formed according to the geometrical features of the rear of the vehicle by the statistical histogram. Secondly, hypothesis is verified by the property of the shadow cast by the car according to a prior acknowledgement of traffic scene. Lastly, the vehicle detection is realized by hypothesis and verification of objects. The experimental results show the efficiency and feasibility of the method.

The learning process is the precondition and base for the neural network control (NNC). In order to process the data easily, the attenuation factor usually be used in the learning process of synaptic weight w i . However, the attenuation factor often influences the convergence of learning algorithm and the learning quality. This paper presents a method with accelerating factor in the learning rule of NNC and applies it into the neuron controller for parameters adaptive learning. The simulations show that the learning and controlling performance can be improved obviously after applying the improved method, especially for the learning control on the different target values

High quality time scale modification of signals is important in many applications. The difficulty is to achieve the necessary time scale modification yet maintaining the pitch information presented in the input signal. We presented a new, computationally efficient algorithm called SOLA (synchronized overlap and add) based on zero-crossing point. It is a time domain algorithm. The algorithm can provide a high quality output signal, and provides an order of magnitude improvement in processing speed when compared to the most popular method, SOLA (Roucos and Wilgus, 1985)

This article investigates identical parallel machines scheduling with family setups. The objective function is the sum of the weighted completion times. We propose an efficient constructive heuristic and three complementary lower bounding methods that we incorporate in a branch-and-bound algorithm. A steady-state simulation of wet phosphoric acid concentration process was carried out. The electrolyte-NRTL model was used to calculate the activity coefficients of species considered in the aqueous phosphoric acid solutions. Only, a calcium sulfate was considered to be deposed on the heat exchangers. Different mathematical model were employed for simulation of unit operations of this process. The simulation of many points of cycle of phosphoric acid concentration process was realized. The obtained results were compared to industrial data

The advantages of multi-inverter parallel operation is summarized and the present solutions for circulating current reduction are reviewed. Then a general small-signal model is proposed with the instantaneous maximum current control scheme. The stability of the system is analyzed. The influence of the current-sharing loop is studied with some mathematical analysis and simulation. The performance of the current-sharing loop is investigated. Then two 220 Vac 1 kW inverters with 50 Hz output frequency is built and paralleled to verify the validity of the proposed model and analysis.

We present a new approach of estimating the asymptotic stability region for nonlinear polynomial discrete systems. This approach is based on the reversing trajectory principle. An approximate reverse system is proposed for polynomial discrete models, and the application of the backward iteration on this system performed from the boundary of an initial estimated domain of stability leads to a large region of asymptotic stability. The proposed approach has been tested on the known Vander-Pool model, and then applied for a discrete synchronous generator system

In this paper, the singularly perturbed systems are decomposed into slow and fast subsystems. An adaptive fuzzy controller is designed for slow subsystems to satisfy the tracking requirement. To alleviate the tracking error, the controller is constructed by T-S fuzzy model system since it has superior approximation performance than Mamdani system. As for fast subsystem, a fuzzy controller is developed to stabilize the fast states. To guarantee the stability of the SP systems, Lyapunov composite technique is proposed
