The paper deals with the supervisory control problem based on vector synchronous product (VSP) of automata. A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of such a controller is given, which is based on the notion of vs-controllability. A writer recognition approach based on SVM is proposed in this paper. Above all, the effect of SVM on the writer recognition is also analyzed under the condition of small samples and weak features, and then the improvement of its performance is validated by experiments. Futhermore, in terms of C-SVC, two parameter optimization schemes are put up based on collapse tests plus margin-based bounds and collapse tests plus compression bounds, respectively, their performance are compared, thus the generation performance of the classifier is enhanced

Point mass model or continuous body model has been utilized for a model of fabric simulation. But these models are approximation of real fabric structure, and these can't always predict mechanical behavior of a fabric. A model that was based on the structure of real fabric consists of threads was presented. The program that constructs a virtual weave structure for mechanical simulation was made, and another program that calculate mechanical behavior of the virtual weave structure was also made. The validity of the mechanical calculation was checked and a function of collision detection was added.

Summary form only given. We have developed the multilocomotion robots (MLR), which aims at the realization of the different locomotion capabilities, depending on the environment and situations of the robots. The MLR has the different locomotion modes, such as biped, quadruped and brachiation locomotions. In the biped locomotion, the robot has the control scheme of passive dynamic autonomous control (PDAC), so that robot can walk passively rather than the actively. As a result, robot can save more energy and walk longer. Quadruped locomotion has some locomotion modes, sue has crawl, pace and trot, chosen by the tradeoff of locomotion speed and consumed energy. Brachiation locomotion is also unique moving by branching from one to another. MLR's goal is to integrate all locomotion modes by accommodating the different environment and robot situations

The PLM (product lifecycle management) is often defined as a set of functions and procedures which allows one to manage and to exploit the data defining at the same time the products and the processes implemented for their developments. However, the installation of a PLM solution remains a difficult exercise taking into account the complexity and the diversity of the customer requirements as well as the transverse utilization of this solution in all the company's' functions. In this article we are focused on product modeling and configuration management in PLM applications and we release first problems related to PLM applications implementation

The current design tries to satisfy only functions defined from specifications without going until the level of knowledge: how designed production system is going to behave throughout its life cycle and how will its user react? We propose an approach allowing to define the behaviour of a production system and that of its user. This approach is based on the notion of the utilization task of the production systems by defining its type, its nature and the conditions of its accomplishment. The performance of these systems depends on the user as same as to the technical system. So our objective is to avoid dangerous situations by improving the design of working situation

In this paper, a super-resolution reconstruction algorithm based on wavelets transform is proposed. Under some special conditions, the blurred low-resolution images can be thought of as the wavelets transform approximate subbands of a high resolution image. Based on the above relationship, we can construct a series of convex sets and then apply the POCS method to recovering high resolution image based on the convex sets. After finite iterative computation, the desired high solution image can be obtained. The experimental results show that the algorithm has good performance in super-resolution reconstruction when the magnification is large enough

A block placement representation called sequence pair was introduced by Murata (1995). Many algorithms that are based on sequence pairs use simulated annealing where the generation and evaluation of a large number of sequence pairs is required. This paper presents a new approach to evaluate a sequence pair based on ant colony optimization in a pair of weighted-constraint graphs. The method is a significant improvement compared to the original O(M 2 ) algorithm (Murata, 1995). Experimental results show that our approach can estimate the area of a placement faster
