Image inpainting technique has been widely used for reconstructing damaged old photographs and removing unwanted objects from images. In this paper, we present an image inpainting method based on the existing exemplar-based image inpainting idea. Our method improves the robustness and effectiveness by rational confidence computing method, matching strategy and filling scheme. Therefore, our method effectively prevents "growing garbage", which is a common problem in other methods. With our method, we can obtain preferable results to those obtained by other similar methods.

In this paper, we present an interactive system to transfer and concatenate motions in different articulated figures, such as human and dog. This system first constructs a union skeleton that contains both bone structures with bone correspondence manually assigned by users, and then aligns the initial poses of these two skeletons. With the initial poses aligned, motion data can be transferred between them. In addition, by blending similar poses of different skeletons, we can produce a seamless transition sequence which can be used to drive a meta-mesh and generate an animated morphing result.

We present a simple technique to improve the perception of an object's shape. Bump mapping is well known in the computergraphics community for providing the impression of small-scale geometrical features, which are not explicitly modelled. Here, we propose a similar approach (variation of normals) for the purpose of enhancing the perception of a given geometry. Our approach is based on a simple modification of the surface hormals in order to enhance the geometric features of the object during the rendering. The enhanced normals produced by this approach can be used in any rendering technique. The technique presented is particularly well suited to improve the rendering of mechanical parts where common straightforward shading techniques can often generate shading ambiguities. We present a new high quality tessellation method for implicit surfaces in this paper. The approach can handle arbitrary implicit functions and dynamic implicit surfaces based on skeletal primitives. We first samples the implicit surface uniformly using particle fission and floating, then reconstructs a triangular mesh from the sample points using ball pivoting algorithm (BPA). Finally, we subdivide the reconstructed surface using a 1 to 4 subdivision scheme to obtain the high quality implicit surface tessellation.

In this paper, we present a novel computational approach for stimulating creativity of designers. The tree structured genetic algorithm is used for generating 2D sketch shapes and 3D images. This approach is illustrated by an artwork design example, which uses general mathematical expressions to form 2D sketch shapes for artistic flower vases and the combination of general and complex function expressions to form 3D images of artistic flowers. It shows that approach is able to generate some solutions for supporting creative thinking of designers.
