[Objective] As unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inspection technology becomes increasingly prevalent in routine transmission line inspection tasks, this paper addresses the limitations of traditional UAV navigation systems, including low precision, significant adaptive inspection errors, and difficulties in identifying and tracking inspection targets. To address these issues, a vision-based autonomous precise landing and adaptive inspection system for UAVs is proposed. [Method] Firstly, a precise landing marker is designed utilizing vision navigation technology. An optimization model for UAV pose recognition is constructed based on the mapping relationship of coordinate systems, where feature point coordinates serve as the foundation for algorithm-based relative pose estimation between landing markers, thereby enhancing the precision of autonomous precise landing. Additionally, to improve the accuracy of adaptive inspection positioning and tracking for UAVs, an optimal threshold selection algorithm based on changing scenarios is proposed. This algorithm enables precise predictive and continuous parameter selection, further enhancing the accuracy of target localization and autonomous tracking during inspections. [Results] A robust adaptive federated Kalman filter tracking algorithm is employed for adaptive positioning recognition and detection comparison. The proposed scheme exhibits significantly higher precision than the other two alternatives, with an 83% improvement in accuracy. [Conclusion] This paper's vision-based adaptive inspection technology for UAVs, integrated with robust adaptive filtering and tracking algorithms, effectively resolves the issues of low precision and tolerance in traditional navigation systems. It enhances the intelligence and finesse of UAV adaptive inspection technology. © 2025 SPIE.

This article describes the adaptive control problem of input-output finite-time stabilization of nonlinear descriptor Hamiltonian systems. With the considered L2 disturbance input, the paper proposes a state feedback adaptive controller to investigate the stabilization problem of the systems in accordance with the impulse controllable condition. At last, the efficacy of the devised controller was validated through the simulation of a nonlinear descriptor circuit system. © 2025 SPIE.

In order to improve the accuracy of zero speed detection in inertial navigation, an adaptive zero speed detection algorithm was proposed by combining finite state machine and mapping iteration method, and the gait period was determined. This algorithm comprehensively considers the period of pedestrian motion in inertial navigation, effectively expanding the statistical characteristics and data distribution characteristics of zero speed interval data, fully reflecting the adaptability of hierarchical iterative search in the search space for zero speed interval search. The simulation results have verified the adaptability and correctness of the detection algorithm, which can be used for gait detection and zero speed detection in inertial navigation. © 2025 SPIE.

In this paper, The works of all-fiber mode adaptive control system for high power LMA fiber laser in our lab were introduced. Mode control experiments with different photonic lanterns were presented. The results of beam quality, output power, efficiency and spectral boarding in the experiments were analyzed. The limitation factor of power scaling and control stability in mode adaptive LMA fiber lasers were discussed. With the optimization of linewidth and control algorithm, The stable control of the LMA gain fiber amplifier with core size of 48 μm has been experimentally demonstrated. At output powers of 1007W, the measured M2 factor is 1.97. The experiments validate the adaptive mode control method for LMA high power fiber lasers. Further work was suggested to achieve near single-mode output with higher output power in larger core size of LMA fiber lasers. © 2025 SPIE.

With the development of science and technology, radar has been widely used in both civil and military fields, and radar target classification and recognition is an important research direction in radar signal processing field. The traditional classification and recognition technology does not utilize all the information of echo, and the recognition rate will decrease obviously when the environment is too complicated and the SNR is low. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes three recognition algorithms. It is a fusion feature multi-objective classification algorithm based on multi-scale feature residual network (MKRN), a fusion feature multi-objective classification algorithm based on adaptive scale feature residual network (AKRN) and a fusion feature multi-objective classification algorithm based on adaptive scale feature multi-level branch residual network (AKSRN). These three algorithms introduce residual structure to avoid network degradation caused by the deepening of network depth, and use convolution kernel of different sizes to enhance the ability of the network to extract multi-scale feature information, which improves the accuracy of network classification and recognition. © 2025 SPIE.

Information transmission through light has attained significant advancements in the fields of both optical fiber communication (OFC) and optical wireless communication (OWC) systems. These advancements have been examined by numerous researchers by employing pioneering modulation schemes, adaptive optics, advanced signal processing algorithms, advancement in materials, and employing sophisticated network architectures for wide variety of applications such as: military;defense;healthcare;satellite;internet of things;and telecommunications. However, the primary factors which affecting the OFC systems are signal attenuation, dispersion, reliability, robustness, and security even though there exists a predominant development. In addition, atmospheric attenuation (due to absorption and scattering), turbulences, climate conditions (fog, rain, snow, dense fog etc,.), alignment and tracking, interference, range constraints, and security are the major challenges in OWC systems in spite of having advanced approaches from past few decades. Hence, these challenges are need to be addressed in order to achieve reliable and high-speed data transmission. This could be possible with the integration of OFC and OWC with emerging quantum communication technologies (quantum key distribution, quantum entanglement, quantum repeaters, quantum sensing, and quantum secured OWC links). Therefore, this work presents the recent advancements in the fields of OFC and OWC systems with the state-of-art-of techniques and approaches. The primary research challenges related to security, speed, range, capacity and adaptability of both OWC and OFC are outlined. In addition, the possible integration of these systems with quantum communication technologies and the recent progression have been outlined. Finally, the possibility of future research direction towards the quantum OFC, quantum OWC have been discussed for ensuring and revealing the full potential of quantum enhanced optical communication systems.

Coherent beam combining (CBC) technology increases the peak power of laser systems by combining multiple coherent beams, overcoming the power limitations of single fiber lasers. This technology is essential for high-power laser applications in military and medical fields. Precise phase control is crucial for efficient beam combining, and reinforcement learning (RL) methods are being explored to address this challenge. This paper introduces a deep RL inference framework that supports various agents and includes an adaptive retraining mechanism to maintain performance amid changing environmental conditions. When a 90% drop in performance is detected, the framework triggers retraining using the improved proximal policy optimization (PPO) algorithm until performance recovers to 95%. Simulations show the framework can adapt to new environments within 1-3 training cycles, ensuring continuous learning and stable performance in dynamic settings. © 2025 SPIE.

In order to enhance situational awareness in future complex battlefield environments, there is an increasing demand for radar systems to effectively execute intricate missions. If the radar waveform library solely consists of specific parameter templates, the system's full potential cannot be fully realized based on the characteristics of different airspace targets. Therefore, adaptive waveform parameter design plays a crucial role in multi-function radar systems. This paper presents a real-time method for adaptive waveform parameter design under three conventional operating states. Compared to traditional methods, this approach achieves a higher net gain accumulation rate and minimizes the utilization of time resources. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified through simulation experiments. © 2025 SPIE.

The transformation of family systems is influenced by various complex factors. Compared to economic, cultural, social and other influencing factors, AI(Artificial Intelligence) has a special impact on the transformation of family systems. Based on Complex adaptive System (CAS) theory, this paper analyzes the mechanisms of AI impacting on the transformation of family systems. CAS theory emphasizes the complexity, adaptability, and nonlinear evolution of phenomena or entities. Within the framework of CAS theory, the transformation of family systems is also regarded as a complex adaptive system, characterized by adaptability and nonlinear dynamics. Through real-time data collection, precise data analysis, and personalized feedback generation, AI enables family systems to develop effective adaptation and feedback mechanisms in response to environmental changes and internal demand adjustments. Moving Target Indication (MTI) technology is an effective means for radar to detect moving targets in clutter environment. In this paper, an adaptive MTI filter is designed based on the linear prediction method and the estimation of clutter spectrum center and spectrum width. By estimating the clutter spectrum center and spectrum width of radar echo signal, the suitable filter weight coefficient is obtained by combining the linear prediction method, and the effect of filtering clutter is achieved. The algorithm complexity of this method is low and the filtering effect is good. In this paper, the centroid method is used to estimate the clutter spectrum center and the integral method is used to estimate the clutter spectrum width. At the same time, the optimized filtering method is linear prediction method with less computation, which can set the notch of the band-stop filter in the center of the clutter spectrum, so that the clutter can be suppressed to the maximum extent. Simulation results show that the proposed method has a good suppression effect on time-varying motion clutter. © 2025 SPIE.
