Due to the large change of the mass and the non-linear relationship between propeller speed and lift force of the quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) during the working process, it requires that the control system's parameters could be adjusted automatically to adapt to the change of the system. Consider the advantages and disadvantages of fuzzy control and PID control, an improved fuzzy adaptive stabilization PID control system is proposed. Based on the dynamic model of the control system, a control system of fuzzy adaptive PID control of the outer loop angle and PID control of the inner-loop angular speed was built. The conventional PID control,cascade-stabilized PID control and fuzzy adaptive stabilization PID control were simulated by software. And the response performance and anti jamming performance of the three kind of control strategies was obtained, the simulation results show that the fuzzy adaptive stabilization PID control effect is better than the other two control strategies, through the parameter debugging experiment and the actual flight experiment shows plant protection quadrotor UAV using fuzzy adaptive stabilization PID control system can achieve very good control results.

Fully automated semiconductor manufacturing, becoming a reality with the ramping of 300mm fabricators throughout the world, demands the integration of advancedprocesscontrol (APC). APC is particularly critical for C, the lithography sector, whose performance correlates to yield and whose productivity often gates the line. We describe the implementation of a comprehensive lithography APC system at the IBM Center for Nanoelectronics, a 300mm manufacturing and development facility. The base lithography APC function encompasses closed-loop run-to-run control of exposure tool inputs to sustain the overlay and critical dimension outputs consistent with product specifications. automation demands that no decision regarding the appropriate exposure tool run-time settings be left to human judgment. For each lot, the APC system provides optimum settings based on existing data derived from pertinent process streams. In the case where insufficient prior data exists, the APC system either invokes the appropriate combination of send ahead processing and/or pre-determined defaults. We give specific examples of the application of APC to stitched field and dose control, and quantify its C, technical benefits. Field matching < 0.1 ppm and critical dimension control < 2.5% is achieved among multiple exposure tools and masks.

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a relatively new process developed in the early 90 ' s by The Welding Institute (TWI) of the United Kingdom. A rotating tool with a specific geometry is used to heat the materials to be joined. The heat softened material of the abutting materials is entrained and transfered around the tool, where it is deposited prior to recoalescence, thereafter forming a joint. The FSW process requires advancedautomation to ensure consistent and reliable joints. This has been realized by the development of an experimental set-up by the integration and online monitoring of accurate sensors with reliable modular control software. With increasing productivity and quality requirements imposed by manufacturers, machine flexibility and scalabitity are becoming increasingly pertinent. On-line process monitoring facilitates the ' adaption ' of machines able to respond to changing process parameters and conditions. Modular open software architectures allow flexibility in machine application. This paper introduces a fresh approach for the integration of the latest automation technology into an experimental setup equipped with an advanced sensory system. A new method of capturing sensory data and the implementation aspects of the software architecture for a micro-kernel based real-time embedded operating system is introduced. Agile automation of the FSW process is thus realized by advanced monitoring and control.

The increasing amount of data in industrial automation systems overburdens the user in processcontrol and diagnosis tasks. One possibility to cope with these challenges consists of using smart assistance systems that automatically monitor and optimize processes. This article deals with aspects of data-driven assistance systems such as assistance functions, process models and data acquisition. The paper describes novel approaches for self-diagnosis and self-optimization, and shows how these assistance functions can be integrated in different industrial environments. The considered assistance functions are based on process models that are automatically learned from process data. Fault detection and isolation is based on the comparison of observations of the real system with predictions obtained by application of the process models. The process models are further employed for energy efficiency optimization of industrial processes. Experimental results are presented for fault detection and energy efficiency optimization of a drive system.

The purpose of the model is to enable the mill manager to simulate the plant, answer what-if scenarios, meet the OWC (order-winning-criteria), and maximize profit. For the sample board mill discussed in the paper, the customer order winning criteria has been automated. The first on-line fibre measurement and control system has been built and installed. A wetlap thickness and dry board thickness controller has been designed and installed. The effect of this is that fibre quality and board thickness are no longer a function of operator opinion and diligence. The paper presents an original solution for the intelligent control of the temperature in a rotary hearth furnace. The controlled heating process is approached as a distributed parameter one. The process dynamics in relation to time is identified based on experimental data obtained from the real plant. For the appropriate temperature control in the furnace, an advancedcontrol system based on intelligent control is designed. The neural networks are used both to adapt the parameters of the main controller and to estimate the values of the disturbances, respectively of the faults which occur in the system. The designed control system can reject the effect of the faults which occur in the furnace operation, being a fault tolerant one. The estimation of the fault value is made by neural networks, based on the model of the spatial temperature distribution between the furnace sectors. The efficiency of the proposed control system is proved through simulation.

For many years the Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) observer has been used in practice for advancedprocesscontrol (APC) in the semiconductor industry. A common practice is to truncate the length of data used in creating an EWMA estimate of the system state. This practice enables easier maintenance of the installed controller, while running the risk of tighter robust stability margins. This paper provides a measure of when it may be safe to assume the stability results of a truncated EWMA are well predicted by those expressions for an infinite EWMA formulation. Additional stability criteria are provided for situations otherwise. A method for extending auto-tuning methods for use with truncated EWMA filters is also presented.
