A learning method is proposed for Koopman operator-based models with the goal of improving closed-loop control behavior. A neural network-based approach is used to discover a space of observables in which nonlinear dynamics is linearly embedded. While accurate state predictions can be expected with the use of such complex state-to-observable maps, undesirable side-effects may be introduced when the model is deployed in a closed-loop environment. This is because of modeling or residual error in the linear embedding process, which can manifest itself in a different manner compared to the state prediction. To this end, a technique is proposed to refine the originally trained model with the goal of improving the closed-loop behavior of the model while retaining the state-prediction accuracy obtained in the initial learning. Finally, a simple data sampling strategy is proposed to use inputs deterministically sampled from continuous functions, leading to additional improvements in the controller performance for nonlinear dynamical systems. Several numerical examples are provided to show the efficacy of the proposed method.

An optimal traffic evacuation scheme is of practical importance to transport all the evacuees in potential minimized evacuation time under an emergency. In this paper, we develop a traffic dispatching control strategy under uncertain evacuees' behaviors, which consists of three parts of buses in every round as gathering, waiting, and transporting times. From the time that the disaster occurs to the time when all evacuees transport to safe shelters, the buses will be dispatched to minimize the maximal time of a bus in evacuation. A new algorithm is designed to solve the two-stage optimization process, and the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

SMS provides specialized solutions for the different machines and plant types. The basis is built by the automation equipment and control system, allowing an optimal and stable operation with minimal personal and maintenance. advanced data collection, using machine data, data from other systems such as ERP or Laboratory as well manual input from operators builds the bases for further data driven optimization of the individual processes and challenges of each producer. The Software as a Service solution SMS-Metrics, combined with SMS know-how, allows for intelligent data analytics and dash-boarding. Existing data is collected from the local automation system and stored in a database hosted by SMS. Special views for the different areas of optimization production, condition, energy and process are given. In generic and plant specific KPIs, the process is monitored and at the same time data quality is guaranteed. In case of deviations from the normal behavior, instant actions can be initiated. Aiming at the present information security problems and the one-sidedness of vulnerability assessment indicators of cyber-physical power systems,an assessment model is proposed based on the improved fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to identify the critical nodes of the ***,an integrated model of the cyber-physical power system is established,and the cascading failure process after component failure of the power system is taken into ***,several assessment indicators considering two aspects of power flow character and structural safety are given.A three-scale method and the optimal transfer matrix are employed to improve the traditional analytic hierarchy process,and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is used to determine the final ***,the validity of the proposed method is verified on the model based on the IEEE 30-bus system.

Quality control in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) poses challenges due to the complex nature of its underlying processes, making it difficult to identify defects during the welding operations. Conventional post-weld inspections, including non-destructive testing (NDT) methods are inefficient and restrict real-time process optimization. This study introduces a novel deep learning-based multimodal approach for real-time GMAW quality monitoring. The proposed solution integrates electrical data, including sensor readings such as voltage (V), current (I) and gas flow rate (GFR) along with high-resolution welding images captured by an advanced welding camera. To enhance the representation for the vision encoder model, timeseries sensor data is converted into spectrograms. The EfficientNetB2 pretrained model stands out as a balanced choice as a vision encoder, achieving high accuracy of 97.33% with a relatively efficient design in terms of both parameters and inference speed. In contrast, ResNet50 achieves the highest accuracy at 98.67%, but it comes with increased complexity and longer inference times. Moreover, comparative analysis underscores the effectiveness of our multimodal approach in achieving superior results over unimodal approaches. Furthermore, the proposed approach extends its applicability to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), providing a comprehensive solution for monitoring and enhancing quality control across various welding methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The extensive utilization of aircraft as a mode of transportation and the accelerated expansion of the aviation market have imposed heightened expectations on airport scheduling capabilities. To enhance the efficacy of aircraft ground operations and diminish the duration of runway occupation, the analysis of aircraft motion characteristics and the management of their ground taxiing trajectories assume greater significance. This paper provides an overview of aircraft ground taxiing control technology. This paper provides a brief overview of the key parameters and trajectory prediction methods involved in the aircraft landing process. The nonlinear analysis theory is employed to introduce the aircraft brake system stability and heading stability. Subsequently, the results of significant research on ground skidding control laws are presented. The fourth section presents a summary of the issues and technological developments in aircraft ground skid run control and outlines future research priorities in anti-skid brake control. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

Graphical User Interface (GUI) automation has shown significant potential recently. Previous works built GUI Agent systems to handle short-procedure tasks such as element grounding or functional assistance. In this paper, we propose a novel PC-Copilot, AssistEditor, that focuses on automating the video editing workflow. Unlike previous approaches, our system does not require users to input specific commands to control the computer. Instead, users simply describe their requirements, such as the content and style of the video, and upload the necessary materials. The system then autonomously translates these requirements into detailed actions for controlling video understanding models and professional video editing software, e.g., Premiere Pro to produce the final video. This functionality is enabled by a collaborative AI agent framework of multiple GUI agents, each capable of dialogue, knowledge retrieval, and software usage. These agents have distinct roles, including interacting with users to gather requirements, generating storyboards, and performing editing tasks. This approach significantly streamlines the video editing process, making advanced editing accessible to users with varying levels of expertise. © 2024 Owner/Author.

Data-driven methods for predictive control rely on input-output data to give a Hankel matrix representation of the space of trajectories. They are poorly suited to situations where both process noise and measurement noise dominate the behaviour whereas Kalman filters optimally estimate system states in this scenario. We derive a data-driven Kalman filter formulation based on the dynamic evolution of Hankel matrix output predictions. This leads to an extended state space model that describes the evolution of both the future inputs and outputs. By applying measurement feedback one arrives at a Kalman filter for the system. The Kalman filter design is performed purely on the basis of the input and output signals and without the need for a specific state-space representation. A benchmark simulation illustrates that the resulting prediction-based control significantly out-performs predictive controllers based on current data-driven methods. © 2024 IEEE.

With the recent development of the machine tool industry, there is an increasing trend of research to collect real-time cutting physics data in CNC cutting and control the CNC. Cutting physics data is the information collected by various sensors such as current, acceleration, voltage, and torque sensors, which indirectly measure the cutting load. This cutting physics data is used for tool condition diagnosis, cutting condition control, and as a key evaluation indicator for predictive maintenance of the spindle. However, in cutting processes, cutting physics data is less useful due to various factors such as machine, workpiece, tool, cutting conditions, and coolant. For more precise machining condition diagnosis or control, a data learning process using the collected cutting physics data is required. In this study, we present amethod for storing machining history data that synchronises CNC data and cutting physics data, and data learning using the data. Data learning methods based on machining history data include (1) optimising NC data to improve productivity by controlling the feed rate, (2) learning data separated by tool unit to manage the life of individual tools or diagnose the degree of wear, and (3) generating reference control curves for real-time feed rate control during machining. Such data learning is particularly effective in the case of mass-produced products and is essential for the development of a digital twin system for CNC machining.
