This paper presents a model for integrating an advancedprocesscontrol library in a cloud-based environment. The aim is to lower the development times, to reduce maintenance effort and decrease the complexity of processcontrol applications by adopting a modular approach consisting of generic, reusable control strategies following an IEC 61499 representation. The solution uses open cloud technologies based on Heroku for the deployment in a public cloud structure and Docker for increased portability of the designed solution. This paper describes the partnership SEMY Engineering, Inc. and White Oak Semiconductor formed to successfully provide automation and advancedprocesscontrol (APC) solutions from a combination of proprietary and commercially available software systems. The White Oak factory objective was to implement a computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) system providing full availability of all necessary data for yield analysis and processcontrol. Semiconductor production throughput and reliability at White Oak has significantly increased using this implementation. This study outlines some major theoretical developments pertaining to man-machine systems, especially as related to computerized automation in such fields as processcontrol, nuclear power generation, manufacturing, aircraft piloting and traffic control, space and deep-ocean robotics. Some historical perspective is given, as is some discussion of ″classical″ quantitative and qualitative theory of the human operator. The study also anticipates the increased use of computers to run dynamic simulations or models of the actual controlled plant in order to aid the human operator in monitoring and diagnosis. A ″framework″ is presented for analyzing the operator's interaction with various models of the plant in addition to the plant itself.

The controlprocess of temperature and humidity for large space aircraft climatic laboratory has the feature of strong coupling. By analyzing the process principle of the humidification and dehumidification, a humidity control method combining bang-bang control and absolute humidity control is proposed to realize the decoupling control of air temperature and humidity. The test results show that the method can realize the adjustment of high temperature& high humidity, high temperature&low humidity, low temperature&high humidity and low temperature&low humidity for laboratory envelope, and good control effects of the temperature within +/- 2 degrees C and the relative humidity within +/- 5% are achieved.
