The transition towards intelligent road infrastructure in smart cities has become inevitable, necessitating the inclusion of intelligence in traffic signs. Integrating advanced technologies into smart road infrastructure helps improve road safety, traffic management and the overall efficiency of the trans-portation system. Using smart traffic signs, real-time information can be provided to drivers. Additionally, integrating sensors and connectivity into traffic signals enables communication with vehicles, facilitating active safety measures and efficient traffic flow management. In this paper, we propose a driver assistance system based on I2V (infrastructure to vehicle) communication. This system is capable of detecting and even recognizing road signs using a code. The results obtained from our proposed method demonstrate its effectiveness.

This paper presents the fabrication of an Active Integrated Phased Array Antennas (AIPAA) sensor system prototype utilizing Information, Communication & Energy transfer (ICEt) technology. Through the high-density integration of hardware components and software algorithms, this system enables adaptive adjustments in diverse scenarios, leading to optimal system performance. The proposed prototype demonstrates the capability to fulfill sensing, communication, and energy transfer tasks in various environments, including spacecraft exploration and river disaster warning systems. This research represents a significant step towards the development of advanced wireless sensor networks with ICEt technology for multifunctional applications.

With the advancement of sensor networks, a variety of methods have been proposed in the field of bridge health monitoring to predict the lifespan of bridges. These methods can be divided into two categories: statistical methods and machine learning methods. statistical methods are static techniques so that fail to capture real-time changes in bridge health. machine learning methods are better to take into account the temporal variations but require high-quality datasets. In practical engineering applications, missing or excessive data often result in over-fitting or under-fitting issues. This study propose a new approach that modifies the parameter structure of the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model. By changing the parameter structure from vectors to matrices, the author enables shared learning of both local and global bridge lifespans. To evaluate the effectiveness of this approach, a series of experiments were conducted on several bridges built with the ANSYS platform. This approach has several advantages over existing methods. (i) it provides a set of physical formulas to reduce data dimensionality, making it applicable to bridges with different sensor data; (ii) by using LSTM to consider the temporal characteristics of bridge health, our approach enhances the accuracy of lifespan prediction; (iii) the authors introduce a method that partitions bridges into multiple local regions for sensor data processing, enabling the acquisition of both local and global lifespan information. These features greatly improve the applicability of our approach in practical engineering scenarios.

A respiratory Pressure monitor is a digital monitor, which is simply structured, designed, and developed under the aegis of a pressure sensor. The maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressure is said to be the most sensitive parameter for the assessment of the respiratory strength of the human body. It is the simplest device to evaluate strength. Maximum Inspiratory Pressure (MIP) and Maximum Expiratory Pressure (MEP) is a direct measurement of strength. At present, Respiratory pressure monitoring indicative of muscle strength is the foremost part of treatment. The major aim of analyzing this is to get the actual value of MIP and MEP as an output for the age group between 20 to 40 years. The effective diagnosis of numerous victims having respiratory difficulties and different neuromuscular conditions can be done with the assistance of the proposed device. This device is functional for a quick assessment of inspiratory and expiratory pressures. Hence, it will be beneficial to medical practitioners as it will give insight into breathing problem symptoms like dyspnea and hypercapnia. It consists of a storage facility when connected to a PC. The device is calibrated against a standard U-tube manometer, reading pressures in centimeters of water column (cmH2O). A respiratory pressure monitor is a low-cost, accurate, and portable instrument, which can bring few supportive changes in the medical field.

The sensor-cloud system (SCS) integrates sensors, sensor networks and cloud systems to manage sensors, collect and process data, and make decisions based on the processed data. And SCS reliability pertains to systems that can be modeled as graphs whose nodes and/or edges have associated probabilities of being operational. In particular, we analyze the reliability of nodes or a group of nodes in the SCS network. It refers to the probability that all the target nodes can be connected. In this paper, we give the network model of k-target nodes, and its reliability based on the structure of the SCS network and the node unreliability theory. For the computational complexity of the k-target reliability calculation, we use the Monte Carlo method to estimate network reliability based on the representation of the path between two nodes in a graph by the adjacency matrix. The simulation results show that we can effectively analyze the large-scale SCS network, and the proposed algorithm has reached the ideal accuracy.

This paper presents the design and implementation of an advanced wireless surveillance robot equipped with real-time feedback capabilities. The system utilizes a combination of hardware components such as Arduino Mega, ESP32-CAM, and sensors, along with software applications including Arduino IDE, Anaconda, and Telegram, to achieve its functionality. The robot is capable of capturing high-resolution images, providing live video feedback, detecting faces using machine learning algorithms, and sending alerts in case of emergencies. The integration of IoT technologies enables remote monitoring and control of the robot's movements and functions via web-based interfaces. The paper discusses the hardware setup, software requirements, design, and implementation steps involved in building the surveillance robot. Furthermore, simulation outputs and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and performance of the system in real-world scenarios. Finally, the paper concludes with suggestions for future enhancements, including AI integration for object detection, improved navigation using GPS and compass, and additional features for remote control via Telegram bot. We proposed a human-robot bidirectional trust-triggered cyber-physical-human (CPH) system framework for human-robot collaborative assembly in flexible manufacturing. For this purpose, we developed a one human-one robot hybrid cell where a human and a robot collaborated with each other to perform the assembly operation of different manufacturing components in a flexible manufacturing setup. We configured the human-robot collaborative system in three interconnected components of a CPH system: (i) cyber system (software system), (ii) physical system (the robot, sensors, hardware accessories, and the work environment), and (iii) human system (the human co-worker and the supervisor). We divided the functions of the CPH system into three modules: (i) computing, (ii) communication, and (iii) control. We used a model to compute the human and robot's bidirectional trust in each other in real-time. We implemented the proposed trust-triggered CPH framework in the human-robot collaborative assembly setup and conducted an experiment to modulate the communication methods and strategies among the cyber, physical and human components of the CPH system. The results showed that variations in communication methods significantly impacted the performance and interactions of the CPH system in terms of human-robot interaction (HRI), and task performance (efficiency and quality). The results can transform the design, development, analysis and control of human-robot collaborative systems configuring them in the form of a CPH system and thus enhance the scope, ease and effectiveness of human-robot collaborative systems for various applications such as manufacturing, construction, etc.

As the global population continues to rise, the demand for higher food production exerts increasing pressure on traditional irrigation systems, which often lack the precision and efficiency required to meet modern agricultural demands. This growing challenge imposes innovative solutions, such as the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into agriculture, which has led to the creation of smart irrigation systems. These advanced systems utilize IoT-enabled soil moisture monitoring sensors to collect real-time data on key environmental variables such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and other atmospheric conditions. Through this data, farmers gain actionable insights that allow them to automate and optimize irrigation, eliminating the need for manual intervention. This study explores into the benefits of IoT-based soil moisture monitoring systems, focusing on the capabilities for remote management, automation, and adaptability to climatic conditions. Key features include real-time data for on-demand and timed watering, as well as the simulation of rainfall patterns, which ensure optimal soil moisture levels. These technologies do not only help conserve water resources and reduce labor requirements but also promote sustainable farming practices by minimizing resource wastage. By improving irrigation efficiency and enhancing crop growth reliability, IoT-driven systems contribute to addressing global food security challenges, ensuring the sustainability of agricultural practices in the face of population growth.

The aim of the research was to develop a concept of a remote measurement system for air quality management using IoT for an apartment with a mechanical exhaust system. The constant monitoring system with the possibility of manual control by the occupants allows teaching the occupants how to chose optimal settings with the biggest impact on the air quality. Additionally, using cloud data analysis, the measurements can be compared with simulations performed before the building construction. This allows choosing the proper apartment depending on the foreseen occupancy schedule and the family size.

The development of small, autonomous sensor devices and their integration into wireless sensor networks has resulted in robust, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-operate systems that are used in a wide range of applications. However, despite the obvious advantages, a number of problems need to be solved to ensure their long-term and uninterrupted operation. One of them is energy efficiency and uniform distribution of energy between the network nodes. Studies have shown that cognitive wireless sensor networks are able to adapt to the state and conditions of networks, take into account aspects such as nodes energy levels, and act accordingly. Among the adaptive protocols, LEACH is considered to be quite effective as it helps to reduce the energy consumption of the network, however, the cluster head selection is based on random approach, which may not be the most efficient way. This paper proposes a modification of the cluster head selection method that allows taking into account the energy of each network node. This approach will help to equalize the energy consumption of nodes and optimize the network workflow as a whole, increasing its reliability and service life.
