We present DAV(3)E, a MATLAB toolbox for feature extraction from, and evaluation of, cyclic sensor data. These kind of data arise from many real-world applications like gas sensors in temperature cycled operation or condition monitoring of hydraulic machines. DAV(3)E enables interactive shape-describing feature extraction from such datasets, which is lacking in current machine learning tools, with subsequent methods to build validated statistical models for the prediction of unknown data. It also provides more sophisticated methods like model hierarchies, exhaustive parameter search, and automatic data fusion, which can all be accessed in the same graphical user interface for a streamlined and efficient workflow, or via command line for more advanced users. New features and visualization methods can be added with minimal MATLAB knowledge through the plug-in system. We describe ideas and concepts implemented in the software, as well as the currently existing modules, and demonstrate its capabilities for one synthetic and two real datasets.

This paper presents a benchmark and accuracy analysis of 3D sensor calibration in a large industrial robot cell. The sensors used were the Kinect v2 which contains both an RGB and an IR camera measuring depth based on the time-of-flight principle. The approach taken was based on a novel procedure combining Aruco visual markers, methods using region of interest and iterative closest point. The calibration of sensors is performed pairwise, exploiting the fact that time-of-flight sensors can have some overlap in the generated point cloud data. For a volume measuring 10m x 14m x 5m a typical accuracy of the generated point cloud data of 5-10cm was achieved using sixsensor nodes.

PLC based glass bottle spray coating system is a noteworthy part of glass bottle manufacturing industry Especially, in Bangladesh the system has not yet been introduced till now. This paper aims to implement a glass bottle spray coating system using programmable logic controller (PLC) along with SCADA (WinCC RT advanced) and proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control system. For glass bottle spray coating, accurate temperature and density level needs to be maintained, which is emphasized in our proposed system. In this work, temperature sensor is used to detect the temperature of water and level switch is used to detect the water level. WinCC RT advanced is used for obtaining the real time value.

Power Amplifier is one of the essential component of WSN Transceiver. The main function of power amplifier is increase the power level of input signal in specially defined range. This paper present 2.4 GHz power amplifier using 0.5um GaAs PHEMT technology. For designing of proposed power amplifier advanced design system (ADS) tool is used. The proposed power amplifier consists of two stage as driver stage and power stage. This proposed power amplifier shows at 3.3V, input return loss is - 13.768 dB and output return loss is - 12.754 dB respectively. Gain or forward transmission coefficient and isolation loss or reverse transmission coefficient of proposed power amplifier are 34.478 dB and - 64.224 dB respectively. The output power and power added efficiency of proposed power amplifier is 22.53dBm and 42.18 dBm respectively. The power gain of proposed power amplifier is 34.091 dBm. Also for layout designing of proposed power amplifier advanced design system software (ADS) is used. This PHEMT power amplifier is design for wireless sensor network based applications.

We present a flexible on-board unit (OBU) architecture that provides Vehicle-to-Everything (V2x) communication services. The architecture includes commercial off-the shelf (COTS) hardware components and open source software components. A lambda-like architecture relegates the transfer of full-resolution bulk data over IEEE 802.11 without excluding the ability for high priority short messages to be sent via other means (DSRC, LTE, etc.). In addition to collecting data from the vehicle's sensors, an OBU can collect data from other, visited, sources, e.g., sensor networks operating within range. Bulk data transfers follow a Delay-Tolerant Networking (DTN) paradigm, by exploiting occasional encounters with other peers to perform data exchanges. In this paper, we summarize our experiences in developing such a system.

The popularity of public cloud services continues to grow with Gartner predicting the total worldwide revenue to almost double from $145 billion in 2017 to $278 billion in 2021(1). Many cloud service types are components of this growth including Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Platform-as-a-Service (PAAS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS). The use of cloud services brings many possible benefits such as scalability, high performance and availability, flexibility, cost effectiveness and security(2). However;each of these benefits comes with some responsibilities and requires a detailed knowledge of the specific cloud services used. For example, in Amazon Web Services (AWS) shared responsibility model for security, AWS is responsible for securing the facilities, physical security of hardware, network infrastructure, and the virtualization infrastructure. The cloud service customer is responsible for securing and managing the applications that run in the cloud, the operating systems, data-at-rest, data-in-transit, policies and other responsibilities. This paper works through several different use cases and provides the details for properly securing the services with which Army Research Laboratory (ARL) researchers interact. The use cases include sample configurations and descriptions required to fulfill the customer security responsibilities in a public cloud environment. Cloud services used include AWS Elastic Computer Cloud (EC2) Windows and Linux instances, Relational Database Services (RDS), Simple Cloud Storage Service (S3), Glacier S3 Storage, and DynamoDB. Challenges and approaches associated with delegating temporary security credentials, Identity and Access Management (IAM) service, and securing data-at-rest and data-in-transit will also be discussed.
