The advent of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has revolutionized several industries, including agriculture, by offering innovative methods to boost productivity and efficiency. In this modest project, propose a smart agriculture system that is able to track key environmental parameters such as soil moisture content, temperature, and humidity in real time. Farmers are better able to make decisions and make the mos use of their resources thanks to the continuous data collection and analysis enabled by the integration of IoT sensors. The proposed system consists of temperature and humidity sensor in the atmosphere and soil moisture sensors buried in the ground. Due to the sensors; connection to a central Internet of Things gateway, sending data to a cloud platform for processing and storing. Farmers may monitor environmental conditions and identify any deviations from the intended thresholds by remotely accessing and visualizing the gathered data via an intuitive interface. Possibility of integration with other IoT enabled gadgets and systems to boost automation and efficiency in agriculture, such as robotic farm equipment, drones for aeria monitoring, and automated irrigation systems. In addition, the system has automated warnings and alerts that notify farmer in real time of any significant changes in soil moisture, humidity, or temperature. This proactive strategy makes it possible to take prompt action to minimize risks and increase crop yield, such as modifying irrigation schedules or putting climate contro measures in place. All things considered, Internet of Things (IoT) smart agricultural system provides a scalable and reasonably priced way to track and control environmenta factors crucial to plant development. Farmers may improve agricultural methods, boost productivity, and eventually contribute to sustainable food supply by utilizing the power of IoT technology.

An innovative approach for continuous health monitoring in medical applications is presented in this research. The proposed system is composed of Raspberry Pi, cloud storage, machine learning, and IoT sensor. The IoT sensor monitors patients' vitals in real time and quickly identifies any anomalies. The patient wearing the sensors transmit the real-time data with Raspberry Pi processors. The Raspberry Pi collects the real time data from sensors such temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse oximeter. Then the IoT transmits the data collected to a cloud server. K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) is a data processing and analysis method used in the cloud server. The KNN algorithm categorizes and analyzes the data collected, discovers the trend and anomalies present in the patient's vital signs. The proposed system has a simple user interface that can be accessed via a web or mobile application, allowing doctors and nurses to remotely look at the patient's data and generate real-time alerts in case of severe health situations. While cloud technology ensures scalability, data storage, and advanced analytics, the integration of Raspberry Pi devices makes it possible to process data locally and reduce latency.

The Smart Automated Zebra Crossing system operationalizes Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors and Internet of Things (IoT) technology with IP camera-based headcount capabilities to foster pedestrian safety. A data-driven control system protected pedestrian safety by integrating adaptive management structures and intelligent traffic methods. The system actively switches on its crossing systems only after PIR sensors detect approaching pedestrians. IP cameras enabled by advanced computer vision algorithms provide real-time pedestrian counting and density measurement services. Networks based on IoT technology carry system data to produce shifting crosswalk time lengths through dynamic adjustments based on variations in pedestrian numbers. Smart LED warning indicators inform drivers about traffic while adaptive timing systems shorten the time pedestrians and drivers need to wait. Real-time decision capabilities and reduced web dependence emerge from the system's edge computing architecture which ensures operational reliability. Through solar power technology all system components underwent upgrades to become durable in varying weather conditions and maintain sustainable operation in any environment. The gathered system data helps analytical experts predict dangerous traffic areas and peak times which supports better precautionary traffic management and future infrastructure development strategies. This modern framework takes pedestrian safety to new heights while efficiently utilizing roads through combination of real-time detection systems and dynamic adaptiveness with data analytical features. Researchers studied architectural elements of the system together with implementation methods and performance results in order to show how this technology will transform smart transportation infrastructure in the future.

One of the crucial processes in the food manufacturing industry is monitoring and measuring the raw products stored in large storage structures, typically called Silos. These procedures are pivotal in dictating the industry's production, quality control, and efficiency. In this study, a wireless sensor node was developed to automatically measure the volume of the product stored in the created mock-up storage bin and a 3D surface reconstruction for visualization. The sensor node utilized a single-broad computer for its computing and wireless functionality. The sensing device comprised LiDAR sensor and a servo motor for data acquisition. The system used an open-source ROS framework to simplify the software along with its data processing pipline and hardware interface integration. The single- board and the end user devices were connected to the same network and used Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) for remote functionality. Results from three different testing setups revealed an average error of 1.309% between the actual and predicted volume of the flour materials within the mock-up storage bin. This deviation from the actual content volume implies that the developed system offered an alternative method for efficient volume measuring of the storage bin through remote data collection and 3D visualization.

Natural disasters, such as landslides and floods, can cause significant loss of life, damage to property, and disruption of essential services. Timely and accurate early warning systems are vital for minimizing the impact of these disasters and enabling proactive emergency response. However, many regions prone to such disasters, particularly in remote areas, often suffer from limited network connectivity, which hampers the deployment and effectiveness of traditional early warning systems. In recent years, the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized the way we collect, analyze, and utilize data. IoT technologies offer the potential to overcome the challenges posed by low network connectivity and provide real-time monitoring and early warning capabilities even in remote areas. By deploying a network of interconnected sensors, data can be collected and processed locally, reducing reliance on extensive network infrastructure. This paper proposes an IoT-based architecture specifically designed for landslide and flood early warning systems in regions with low network connectivity. The architecture harnesses the power of IoT devices, including wireless sensor networks, data analytics algorithms, and cloud computing, to enable the collection, analysis, and dissemination of critical data in real-time. The key contribution of this research is designing a robust and scalable IoT architecture tailored to the specific requirements of landslide and flood early warning systems. The architecture provided the efficient data collection mechanisms using wireless sensor networks to capture environmental parameters and provide real-time updates, implementing advanced data analytics algorithms to process sensor data and detect potential landslide or flood events. This work presents the development of a universal wireless controller that supports the Robot Operating system (ROS), with a focus on enhancing system reliability and safety in Human-Robot Teaming (HRT). The controller is designed to provide multi-modal auditory, visual, and tactile feedback mechanisms, ensuring robust and reliable communication between human operators and various robots during collaborative emergency scenarios. The primary objective is to create an intuitive and unified interface that not only facilitates efficient collaboration but also significantly enhances the safety of operations by minimising the risk of human errors in dynamic and unpredictable environments. By integrating ROS capabilities with diverse sensorial feedback modalities, the controller improves situational awareness (SA) and operational reliability, enabling human operators, such as first responders, to maintain control and make informed decisions under pressure. A use case involving the navigation of a quadruped robot through an obstacle-filled environment is presented to demonstrate the controller’s practical benefits in ensuring safety and reliability during complex tasks. The sequence of operations, including safe navigation, reliable victim proximity indication, and secure emergency stops, highlights the controller’s effectiveness in real-world scenarios, emphasising its role in promoting both system reliability and operational safety.

According to the real-time and accurate monitoring requirements of the engineering structure, an intelligent monitoring system based on Lora is developed. The system constructs the underlying wireless monitoring network through Lora communication technology. The wireless monitoring node realizes the plug and play of sensitive sensing elements and weak signal detection through WTIM (Wireless Transducer interface Module, WTIM) module and NCAP (Network Capable Application Processor, NCAP) module. Based on Lora sensing network, the multi sensor cooperative monitoring is realized by the collaborative cognitive order parameter network model;the network intelligent monitoring system platform is developed by using JSP and SQL Server2016 relational database based on the C/S model. The experimental results show that the strain detection error can reach 0.1%, vibration detection error is 5%, and the intelligent network monitoring is realized. © 2021 SPIE.

This work presents a new approach of intelligent systems to efficiently control and enhance energy consumption in intelligent buildings. We utilize a Raspberry Pi model that is equipped with sensors to establish an Internet of Things (IoT) system for the purpose of detecting and quantifying the temperature within the building. Then transport these data into the server using the efficient communication technology MQTT. In order to calculate energy consumption, we utilize a range of machine learning methods such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, MLP Regressor, K-neighbors, Decision Tree, Support Vector Regression, Ridge, Linear Regression, Lasso, and ElasticNet. To determine who is the best model of ML, we employ evaluation measures such as MAE, MSE, RMSE, and R-squared. The RF offers the best prediction performance with high accuracy.

In this paper, a radar-based system for the buildings' heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control is proposed. Although a great effort was devoted to improving the performance of the HVAC control systems, the traditional technologies demonstrated their limitations thus making the effective sensing still an unsolved challenge. Radar sensing has been identified as a key technology for this emerging application, because it represents a reliable, versatile, cost-effective and solid-state compatible solution, with distinctive advanced features not present in the traditional technologies. Different strategies are proposed to accomplish the occupancy detection and counting tasks, based on range-Doppler and micro-Doppler detection. Moreover, the capability of the radar to enable touch-free control of the system has been shown by classifying different user's gestures. The basic principles of the radar sensing and processing are illustrated, whereas the feasibility of the different goals is experimentally demonstrated. The advanced features provided by the newly evolved radar technology might enhance the current HVAC systems' performance with a broad impact to the society, affecting the building energy consumption, the Earth climate, and the environmental health. © 2022 European Microwave Association (EuMA).

The accelerated adoption of electric vehicles (EV) requires a rapid, scalable EV charging network. Bharat EV Charger Specifications (BEVC-AC001) was the foundation for all earlier works on 3.3kW AC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). Since the onboard chargers from major EV OEMs are less than 3.3 kW, the EV AC chargers of the same rating were used to meet it. This supports only overnight charging requirements of the EVs with high-capacity battery packs. Now with advancements in technologies, EVs with higher battery capacity for longer ranges are rolled out to meet the user requirements. The present slow AC chargers limited to 16A have huge charging periods with no charging controls. So, the next level of EV charging at 32A with a single phase, up to 7kW and three phase, up to 22kW AC EVSE have been developed based on IS-17017 and AIS-138 standards to hasten the charging process. Although expensive than AC slow chargers, expanding AC fast charging infrastructure with smart connectivity complying with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is cost-effective than DC EVSEs. The suggested charger delivers controlled charging with simple installation tasks and establishes a communication mechanism between EV and EVSE. This paper describes the design and execution of a standalone and networked AC fast EVSE to accommodate the various user types while taking into account economic Indian needs. © 2023 IEEE.
