The present investigation aims to develop a remotely controlled robotic manipulator for interior painting applications. The system incorporates an Arduino Mega microcontroller for motor control, a SolidWorks design for the mobile robotic arm, and MDF material with pulleys, gears, and bearings for the physical construction. A PCB in Altium is contemplated in the design, featuring the L298N motor controller and meeting manufacturing requirements, including a ground plane. A PID control scheme is implemented using measured motor parameters such as inertia (J), viscous friction (B), torque constant (KT), etc. It contemplates calculations for Jacobians, inverse kinematics, direct kinematics and trajectory planning. To provide a user-friendly interface, an application is developed using MIT App Inventor, which allows visualization of motor angles, end-effector position, and joystick-based control of motors, base engines. Bluetooth connectivity is established via a Bluetooth module for wireless control. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy and feasibility of the developed robotic manipulator system.

This paper proposes a dust sensor monitoring system using Wi-Fi mesh network, including wireless dust sensor node and Wi-Fi mesh networking procedure. The wireless sensor node is made by integrating a dust sensor based on GP2Y1010AU0F chip, a STM32F103ZET6 chip as its MCU, a Wi-Fi module as its wireless transceiver, and a LCD screen as its user-interface. The dust sensor takes the light scattering method, measuring the flash frequency and the duration reflected by particles in the air flow. Dust sensor nodes are networking by Wi-Fi mesh network. Practical experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed system. The measuring error of dust concentration is less than 5%. As the network is made up of 8-10 nodes, if the root node is disconnected, the network recovery time is less than 9 seconds while the other nodes' is less than 5 seconds. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Mobile hand-held or back-carried small engines must be weight-optimized due to their operability. At the same time there is enormous cost pressure within this market segment. Therefore, not all comfort and additional functions to increase user-friendliness can be adopted from the stationary applications. These include, for example, electric starting devices or additional sensors and actuators that take over advanced control processes to prevent or detect and report user or system errors. In the mobile small engine segment, this situation leads to the problem that the systems have many requirements for the user. These include, for example: physical ability to operate a pull starterknow-how about the functioning of a combustion engine (2-stroke and 4-stroke)know-how for detecting failures and remedial actions If the knowledge about the behavior of engines is not given, or failures are overlooked, this automatically leads to a form of physical strain on the user due to the many unsuccessful start attempts, which can lead to further subsequent errors. In the home and hobby segment this leads to a certain frustration and customer dissatisfaction, so that every engine or equipment manufacturer and ignition system supplier pays special attention to and optimizes the starting and running behavior of the application during product development. In the area of critical applications there are tougher requirements for the reliability and operability, where the above-mentioned conditions can lead to catastrophic consequences with injuries, personal or environmental damage. This article describes a possibility to extend a mobile, back-carried 2-stroke engine, which is used as a wildfire water pump by fire brigades (Figure 1) with an additional user interface to minimize the demands on the user and to ensure immediate feedback in case of a failure, so that measures can be initiated as quickly as possible without the need for extensive troubleshooting. © 2022 SAE International. Drones are often associated with data collection operations and monitoring services. Thus, they are particularly relevant for performing high-risk tasks remotely, allowing the operator to execute them safely. These operations require a high level of attention and focus from the operator;however, humans are prone to stress and distractions, which negatively impacts the control he delivers. Brain-computer interfaces can be a way to enable the analysis of the emotional states of the drone operator. In this paper, we propose a decision-making system that evaluates the emotional state of the drone operator to allow commands to be sent to the drone. By developing a digital twin of the operator capable of classifying the emotional states at both cognitive and visual levels, the system can decide whether the operator is in a proper emotional state to control the drone. Necessary information is computed and forwarded to the drone through a ROS2 client node. Initial evaluation results indicate that the digital twin can detect emotions and mood swings in a real-time setting and that the system may provide a reliable and secure way of validating drone commands through the mind. © 2021 IEEE.

This article presents the development of a low cost system, based on the IoT paradigm, to monitor and control the irrigation of plants and vegetables in domestic gardens. The system consists of a set of electronic components able to extract data from the garden and an Application Programming interface (API), that uses the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol, to control the communication with sensors and actuator. The sensed information can be further visualized on our own Web and Mobile Applications (for Android and iOS). Our system capabilities include obtaining weekly data plots (from hygrometer and humidity sensors) and automatizing the irrigation system, making the user able to schedule irrigation or even activate it remotely.

Technological developments have come a long way in developing service robots and employing them to serve human needs to the fullest extent. Communication between the robot and its user is the most important aspect, and developing a system to train robots and provide them with the necessary capabilities to accomplish specific tasks is important for creating a suitable service robot. This work provides solutions to most of the challenges in developing such systems using smart systems that can implement multiple and complex commands in a short and appropriate time, such as matching data outputs with what is examined by these systems. For this reason, (RFID) was used to compare data and give commands so that the robot can move in complex environments. Another challenge to consider is keeping the robot on the specified path without deviating from its specified path, so a special sensor was developed to track the robot’s deviation and correct the path. Another challenge to consider is if the robot might collide with an object on the path, this problem has been solved by a wireless sensor, all of which is processed and controlled by the microprocessor and motor control unit. Several practical tasks were implemented for the proposed model, and these tasks were in complex and different environments and under difficult conditions. The proposed service robot model was able to implement them with very high accuracy, so it can be relied upon as an advanced service robot model.

Distribution systems are currently facing steep operational challenges as a result of the rapidly increasing integration of renewables and other distributed energy resources (DERs) at both the primary and secondary circuit levels. Distribution utilities and system operators have traditionally had some visibility of their primary circuits using low-frequency supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and they have had very poor if not zero visibility of the secondary circuits where the presence of DERs is constantly increasing. Therefore, this paper presents simulation studies to demonstrate the benefits of an advanced, high-fidelity sensor technology, called as the MetaAlert system (MAS), developed by Electrical Grid Monitoring, Ltd. (EGM), on the distribution grid. First, a reliable model of the EGM sensors is developed, and then two use cases-distribution system state estimation (DSSE) and fault identification-are simulated to evaluate the performance of the MAS technology. Simulation results on the Electric Power Research Institute Jl feeder demonstrate that the MAS can effectively participate in system-level DSSE programs and can detect and locate faults faster than traditional distribution protection schemes. © 2022 IEEE.

It is generally known that, many students travel between school and home on a daily basis. This necessitates the need to address the issue of safer school bus travel, which has become a national concern in India. Some of the issues include the child being left behind in the bus, the bus taking a different route to drop the child off, and so on. This problem has been addressed in this research work by developing a safety system to track the number of children entering and exiting the bus using their ID, and this process will take place with the help of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and a GPS tracker, which will be used to track the bus in order to locate its exact location and determine the path in which the bus is travelling. Additionally, the parents will be notified if any unusual activity occurs, such as the changing the bus route or counting the number of students on board. Since, this is an advanced system, the travelling children and the driver do not need to take any additional actions;wherein the system will take care of all the necessary steps and track the students' entry and exit. In the case of the drunk and drive application, if the driver is intoxicated, the sensor will detect it and send a message to the school administration so that they can take appropriate action. Also, the proposed model will check whether students and drivers have properly fastened their seat belts or not. Also, the proposed system will provide panic buttons. In case of any emergency like road accident, the driver can also press the panic button. This module is employed in order to establish the connection between the users and the board. After completing all the process, all the related data will be sent to the parents via a wireless medium. The user interface for the proposed model is IOT application. User can use this system by using the necessary appliance. All the valuable information will be sent through the wireless medium and made visible through the IOT app, whic

At present, the development of energy and power is faced with a major strategic task of ensuring safe and reliable supply, accelerating the clean and low-carbon transformation, and helping to achieve the “dual carbon” goal. The construction of digital station information system bears the historical mission of energy transformation, has great and far-reaching significance, is an important part of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and has new features such as clean, low-carbon, safe and controllable, flexible and efficient, intelligent, friendly, open and interactive. In this paper, the equipment model data standardization technology and unified data interface technology based on the digital station information system are studied to solve the problems faced in the construction of the digital station information system, such as multiple islands of information, multiple fault patterns, and low data value. According to the principle of unified collection, storage and utilization of distribution network information, the SG-CIM model specification is used as the basis for modeling to provide standardized data; The unified data interface of digital station information is formed through unified basic software and hardware facilities, unified equipment information model, and unified application and development specifications to achieve equipment centric panoramic data aggregation and sharing, and visual presentation of operation and maintenance business. Realize the coordination and interaction of digital station information system, and provide a strong support way for the country to promote the “double carbon” goal.
