This research introduces an innovative Adaptive Optimizer for speed control in smart vehicles, integrating advanced object detection algorithms (YOLOv3, R-CNN, SSD, Faster R-CNN) with sophisticated sensor fusion techniques (Kalman Filter, Particle Filter, Deep Learning Fusion). The Adaptive Optimizer dynamically selects the most suitable algorithms based on real-time environmental data, including lighting conditions (day, dusk, night), speed (low, medium, high), and weather conditions (clear, rainy, foggy). This selection ensures optimal performance and safe navigation by adjusting vehicle speed according to detected conditions. The system's effectiveness is evaluated using key metrics such as accuracy, processing time, and computational complexity, along with regression models to analyze errors and computation times. A feedback loop from the final speed control stage informs the optimizer, enhancing decision-making. Our findings highlight the tradeoffs between speed and accuracy, emphasizing the importance of adaptive and probabilistic decision-making for enhanced vehicle safety and efficiency. This adaptive approach is crucial for the development of smart vehicles, ensuring they can respond effectively to varying environmental challenges. © 2024 IEEE.

An economic zone is bound to have continuous monitoring and control by an autonomous surveillance system for better production competency and security. Wireless Rechargeable sensor Networks (WRSNs) have gained popularity to provide reliable and sustainable energy supply for continual network operations. In economic zones, numerous sensor nodes are deployed for diverse activities that require continuous energy supply. However, the integration of WRSNs with UAVs has increased the efficiency of recharging the sensor nodes deployed in areas that are difficult to reach by mobile chargers. Nevertheless, UAVs' limited battery life limits their performance and range which requires efficient deployment of charging stations. This paper proposes an integration of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithms to address the charging scheduling problem through efficient deployment of charging stations and finding the optimal charging scheduling path for UAVs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme produces a shorter planning path, leading to a longer network lifespan than alternative approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes an ultrasonic sensor methodology to measure concentrations in a binary gaseous alternative fuel system of hydrogen and natural gas for automotive applications. Further, it proposes a sensing and control architecture that enables alternative fuel vehicles, in this case a series hybrid electric vehicle, to fuel and operate their conventional IC engines on variable concentrations of hydrogen and compressed natural gas (HCNG). This represents a new type of flex fueling capability namely Flex-HCNG. The proposed Flex-HCNG system includes the ability to refuel from any hydrogen or natural gas fueling station into a single high-pressure on-board storage tank and then to start and run under changing fuel concentrations. The benefits of Flex-HCNG will be greater demand for both natural gas and hydrogen by effectively increasing available fueling infrastructure and providing security through greater fuel choice. Increasing demand for hydrogen prior to widespread availability of fuel cell vehicles will facilitate faster transition to renewable hydrogen and natural gas economy.

Water is the primary resource and essential for every species' survival. Monitoring several characteristics of water quality results in a clear awareness of the factors that ought to be taken into account for a well lifetime and to prevent aquatic waste. In situ monitoring as well as control of aquatic quality should be able to be integrated via the Internet of Things (IoT). Proposed system makes routine use of the Internet of Things (IoT) by employing sensors to detect water quality parameters for domestic applications, including pH, temperature, and fluoride contamination in water. The developed device should be capable of making self-governing decisions for regulatory aquatic superiority aspects for example (temperature and quantity of contaminations) taken by the revealed sensors in tolerable parameters, as well as taking accounts of historic analyses at a cloud-based platform. This device enables gathering, depicting, and dispensation of water value figures in actual. This drives the system to inevitably respond to fluctuations in its results. By using Internet of Things (IoT) resources that structure may be opened remotely from anywhere over the cyberspace, such as via a smartphone. The main aim is to permit us to sense aquatic quality and communicate at the cloud platform. The technology should avoid the inconvenient and time-consuming offline laboratory study of composed aquatic samples. In order to solve the problem of detecting CO2 concentration in the air, an information acquisition and concentration monitoring system based on CO2 concentration sensor is designed. Firstly, the overall framework of CO2 concentration monitoring system is designed, including sensor module design, signal conditioning circuit module design, main control chip circuit design and lithium battery voltage rise and fall circuit design. Then, the hardware circuit connection design is carried out, including the overall connection circuit design of the main control chip stm32f103vet, the sensor circuit connection design, the LCD drive circuit design, the USB communication and upper computer data storage circuit design and the power supply circuit design. Finally, the whole software flow of CO2 concentration monitoring system is designed. The system realizes the real-time detection and storage of CO2, and can realize the information exchange and information processing of the upper computer through the data transmission interface. Industrial exoskeletons are becoming increasingly important for preventing workers from developing musculoskeletal disorders when performing manual material handling. Because the exoskeletons are task dependent, there is versatility of use in the performance according to the type of movement that the user executes. The user command interface is a wearable device for industrial exoskeletons. It is an adaptable setup system between users and occupational wearable robots. The main purpose is to provide access to users in some domains of the exoskeleton configuration system. Areas such as secure user identification, parameter configuration, and signal visualization are well structured in the interface. Shoulder-sideWINDER is an active exoskeleton for shoulder support that was developed in collaboration between XoLab and the Italian Worker's Compensation Authority. This exoskeleton requires a guided calibration process before the operation. In this paper, we present an evaluation of two novel features of the UCI: (a) tutorial and (b) audio notifications for calibration. These new features are integrated into the upper-limb industrial exoskeleton Shoulder-sideWINDER. Participants performed experiments to assess the interface comprehensibility and usability of the tutorial and sound notifications by wearing the Shoulder-sideWINDER exoskeleton and the user command interface. The results presented in this study show that the user command interface is a highly intuitive control device that guides the calibration sequence of the exoskeleton. © 2023 IEEE.

The Orbiting Mouse is the latest input device augmenting three-dimensional control in CAD, and its designer gave special consideration to user precision, ergonomic comfort, and operational efficiency. The main body details the design and implementation of such a device, which pairs an orbital control system with a triple-axis magnetometer, plus customizable function buttons targeting CAD applications. The proposed system greatly simplifies complex 3D manipulation, thus reducing fatigue as an interface integrates seamlessly with CAD applications in the industry. This proves to be an enlightening research study on architecture, application, and potential improvements with its application to contemporary digital design workflows.

The proliferation of IoT-enabled wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has ushered in a multitude of applications but has also heightened concerns regarding data integrity and security. This underscores the critical necessity for robust Intrusion Detection systems (IDS) tailored explicitly for such environments. This study presents an innovative IDS framework designed to safeguard the integrity and security of data within -enabled. Our IDS framework introduces advanced machine learning techniques and anomaly detection algorithms to enable real-time monitoring and analysis, effectively identifying and mitigating potential threats. Through extensive experimentation and validation, we demonstrate the reliability and efficacy of our IDS in detecting various intrusion attempts while minimizing false alarms. Moreover, our framework incorporates adaptive mechanisms to address evolving threats and network dynamics, ensuring continuous protection against malicious activities. By enhancing the resilience of IoT-enabled WSNs against intrusions, our research contributes to bolstering trust and reliability in critical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

This research presents the development of a sensor fusion-based driver assistance system (DAS) aimed at enhancing the safety of heavy vehicle operators. The system integrates an alcohol sensor, an ADXL 335 accelerometer sensor, and an eye blink detection sensor with an Arduino platform for real-time monitoring of driver behaviour. LabVIEW software was employed for data processing and visualization, providing a user-friendly interface to track driver alertness, speed, and alcohol consumption. A classification algorithm was implemented to categorize the driver's condition into various risk levels based on sensor inputs. Alerts were generated in real-time to notify the driver of potential hazards, such as drowsiness, intoxication, or speeding. Experimental trials demonstrated the system's effectiveness in accurately detecting dangerous driving behaviours and issuing timely warnings. The use of sensor fusion enhanced data reliability by cross-verifying multiple inputs, reducing false positives. The system proved to be robust and practical for implementation in heavy vehicle operations, contributing to road safety. Future enhancements may include additional physiological sensors, integration with vehicle control systems, and the practise of machine learning (ML) algorithms to improve classification accuracy. This research highlights the potential of sensor fusion technology in the development of advanced DAS, particularly in the transportation sector.

This research proposes the development of a robotic neck with three degrees of freedom (3-DOF) that mimics human upper neck movements. The control system utilizes an MPU6050 IMU-based controller attached to the robot's body, head, and lower neck. Building upon previous work, the study addresses limitations in tracking head movements independently of the user's body and lower neck orientation, encompassing pitch, yaw, and roll. The researchers employ the MPU6050 IMU sensor and a tilt compensation algorithm to determine the angles of both the robotic and human upper neck. Data collected by Arduino and LABView Software from the system is analyzed using statistical methods with JMP Software. The results demonstrate that the robotic neck effectively acquires and imitates human upper neck movement, with a significant reduction in angle difference errors compared to the previous system. © 2023 IEEE.
