This study focuses on harnessing EEG (electroencephalogram) brain signals for motion control through a Brain-Computer interface (BCI). The research integrates advanced deep learning techniques, such as transfer learning with ResNet, for predicting and interpreting these brain signals. Additionally, the study utilizes LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) and RNN (Recurrent Neural Network) for processing time-series EEG data, enhancing the system’s ability to decode the user’s intended movements.A key element of the research is the application of an attention-based BiLSTM-GCN (Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory-Graph Convolutional Network) model. This model enables deep feature extraction and mining in the context of human motor imagery recognition. It empowers the system to effectively understand and respond to the user’s intentions based on their EEG *** ultimate goal of this research is to create a more efficient and accurate BCI system that can recognize and interpret the user’s brain signals, allowing for precise and intuitive motion control. This has the potential to revolutionize various fields, including assistive technology, neurorehabilitation, and human-computer interaction. The combination of EEG-based control and deep learning methods holds promise for enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and expanding the horizons of human-machine communication.

Patients with motor impairments resulting from brain injuries or neurological disorders often require specialized rehabilitation to regain mobility and function. The primary challenge is ensuring an immersive yet effective rehabilitation experience. Rehabilitation robotics, designed for assisting rehabilitation training process, are beneficial for performing rehabilitation exercises while providing real-time assistance and guidance. These robotics could achieve even better results by capitalizing on patients' initiative. This work introduces a solution by leveraging Motor Imagery (MI) - a representation of human motor intention - to directly control rehabilitation robotics using brain activities. Specifically, the study showcases the development of a lower limb rehabilitation robot system based on motor imagery, which aims to provide a seamless, immersed rehabilitation experience for patients with motor impairment in lower limb. Three experiments have been conducted in this work: an offline paradigm for data collection and training, a pseudo-online paradigm for quantitative real-time performance analysis, and an online paradigm to evaluate the system's practical performance in real-world scenarios. The offline paradigm achieved an accuracy of 83% for MI detection and 82.15% for classification. The pseudo-online paradigm demonstrated an accuracy of 66.95%, showing its possible effectiveness in real-time situations. In the online paradigm experiment, participants managed to performance rehabilitation training with this system, but issues with delayed or incorrect response were reported. With enhanced datasets and further optimizations, the combination of MI and rehabilitation robotics can potentially revolutionize the outcomes for patients, offering an immersive and effective rehabilitation experience. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents integrated forest fire detection and prevention system leveraging advanced sensor technologies, satellite monitoring, and UAVs. Data analytics and machine learning enhance accuracy, minimizing false alarms. Efficient communication with emergency services, public awareness campaigns, and community involvement are integral. The system aims to provide early detection, rapid response, and effective mitigation of wildfires, ensuring the safety of ecosystems and human communities. They cost more in India. In this paper we have discussed the effects of forest fires on India’s biodiversity, forest species, climate changes and soil properties along with the different approaches the Indian government has taken to prevent and control forest fires. The forest fires economic impact is estimated to be over INR 1101 crore/year. By observing this we try to put light on this topic.

The advancement of autonomous robotics in assistive technologies holds significant potential for enhancing mobility and independence among individuals with disabilities. This study investigates the development of an advanced wheelchair and robotic assistance system utilizing autonomous robotics to enhance mobility and independence for individuals with disabilities. Key components include integrated sensors, mobility systems, and user interfaces, designed to provide robust environmental awareness, adaptive navigation, and high user satisfaction. sensor integration, using LIDAR, ultrasonic, infrared, and cameras, achieved an obstacle detection accuracy of up to 99%, with combined sensor systems maintaining a reliability rate of 97% even in low-light conditions. The mobility components demonstrated optimal performance on indoor and smooth outdoor terrains, with an average terrain adaptability of 92%. User interface options, such as joysticks and touchscreens, scored 98% and 96% in command accuracy, respectively, while safety testing yielded an emergency stop response time averaging 85 milliseconds. Compliance with ADA standards confirmed, with the device achieving a collision avoidance accuracy of 98% in standard indoor settings. These results highlight the device's capacity to meet varied mobility needs, though further development in rugged terrain adaptability and low-light sensor functionality could optimize usability.

People with severe disabilities often struggle to interact with home devices, making even basic tasks difficult or impossible due to their physical limitations. The Human Computer and human Gesture interface system is a lightweight wearable prototype that uses head movements for cursor control and cheek muscle twitches for clicks and appliance control, specifically designed to aid individuals with quadriplegia. Quadriplegia is a spinal cord injury which turns to paralysis of the whole body at least the shoulders down which is a great barrier. This paper proposes a prototype of human computer and human gesture interface device, using which, a quadriplegic patient can control a computer cursor and home appliances exclusively with head motions and cheek muscle twitches. The proposed system aims to create a hands-free head motion-subjugated device for computer cursor and electrical appliance control by using an accelerometer to read the values created by the patient’s head movement and translate that into mouse cursor movement and flex sensors to detect cheek muscle twitches and translate that into mouse cursor clicks and turn home appliance switches on and off. This study presents the entire process for developing a system prototype, as well as the system’s capabilities and benefits over currently available assistive technology. Those who suffer from arm problems or quadriplegia may find great assistance from this promising technological advancement.

This paper proposes an integrated design of fault tolerant control (FTC) for continuous-time switched systems in the presence of sensor faults and external disturbances. A switched descriptor observer is proposed to estimate the sensor faults and system states simultaneously, and using the estimates, a state feedback fault-tolerant controller is constructed to en-sure the robust stability of the closed-loop system. The observer and controller gain are determined through H ∞ optimization using a one-step Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) formula. This is achieved by utilizing multiple Lyapunov functions and the concept of Average Dwell Time (ADT) switching signal. Sufficient conditions, characterized by reduced conservatism, are then derived and expressed in LMI form. Finally, a simulation analysis of a two-tank liquid level control system is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed integrated FTC strategy.

As a zero-carbon fuel, the application of ammonia is increasing in marine engines, however, excess unburned ammonia emissions significantly impact the performance of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) after-treatment system, leading to a substantial increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Real-time monitoring of unburned ammonia concentrations is critical for ensuring optimal combustion efficiency and effective emission control. This paper presents a high-precision, real-time online monitoring solution for unburned NH 3 emissions in exhaust gases from marine low-speed ammonia engines, utilizing the advantages of high-temperature laser technology. The objective is to optimize ammonia fuel utilization, mitigate the greenhouse effect, and enhance the overall performance of marine emission control systems.

With the rapid advancement of science and technology, people's yearning for a more convenient life has gradually become concrete, which has given rise to a huge logistics industry chain. At the same time, the ever-increasing labor costs have caused an urgent need for autonomous delivery vehicles. This paper presents the design and integration of an autonomous vehicle system for efficient indoor parcel delivery, addressing the challenges of navigating dynamic indoor environments. This vehicle system leverages a multi-sensor approach, integrating LiDAR, radar, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), GPS, and odometer data to provide comprehensive environmental perception and precise localization, which will contribute to the field by providing a practical application of autonomous vehicle technology in a constrained environment, offering a solution for the logistics industry’s indoor delivery challenges.

Due to the rapid changes in the Earth’s climate, reliable weather forecasting is becoming increasingly challenging. Therefore, Weather Monitoring systems are utilized to monitor the ever-changing weather patterns. The data gathered by such devices is used to forecast weather as well as keep a log of the environmental changes at a place. Such data is extremely useful in the study of earth and analyzing the changing climatic and environmental conditions at a place. Further, the data and analytics so collected can be utilized in a variety of applications like agriculture, geology, mining, and weather forecast. This paper describes an innovative method for monitoring the weather and making the findings of such monitoring accessible to individuals in other areas of the world. This is made possible by a technology known as the "Internet of Things", which is a highly developed and efficient method of connecting physical objects to the internet and connecting everything in the world to a single network. The proposed system uses the temperature, pressure, and rain sensors to monitor the ambient conditions of weather. The sensed information is then transmitted to a server for data logging, which logs and represents the collected sensor data. The updated information from the current system is available online and viewed using user interface. When compared to existing weather monitoring system, the proposed method includes data logging facility to view the information accurately using IoT technology.

When automated, these processes can improve productivity, scalability and reliability making them critical for global growth. The article describes the creation of industrial device manager on the basis of ESP32 Wi-fi technology, including mobile application on Flutter for real-time monitoring and control of industrial devices. They ensure safe operation thanks to the use of relays for controlling high-power AC loads and protecting the controller from electrical surges by measuring the voltage, current, speed, and temperature. To communicate between hardware and mobile application, protocols such as MQTT and HTTP, provide low-latency responses and a reliable data flow. The intuitive mobile app interface enables device control and also provides instant feedback, such as abnormal condition alerts. The hardware is assembled in a portable format that runs on a rechargeable battery and is low power consumptive, suitable for industry use cases. Experimental results show response time of < 100 ms, sensor accuracy of 98% with a ±2% deviation, and concurrent control of multiple devices. By providing control without the constraints of wires, this system overcomes the drawbacks associated with conventional wired setups. It is so simple to install that it does not require significant preparation, it can be used in small and in great industrial applications. This IoT-based device manager provides an effective solution for modern industrial automation by improving operational efficiency, flexibility, and reliability while offering seamless monitoring and control of devices remotely and optimizing overall system performance.
