This paper presents the development and implementation of an advanced irrigation system integrating soil moisture sensors and solenoid valves to create a flexible and efficient irrigation framework. The system is designed to detect and respond to specific moisture thresholds in each furrow, ensuring optimal water distribution. When the sensors detect adequate moisture levels, the solenoid valves are deactivated, and the irrigation system shuts down sequentially to prevent water wastage. With farm-wide connectivity, users can remotely monitor, update, and activate the system as needed, allowing for precise control and customization based on varying farm sizes and water requirements. This automated irrigation system promotes sustainable farming practices by optimizing crop growth through precise water management, minimizing wastage, and enhancing overall productivity. This innovative solution empowers farmers with real-time control by bridging the gap between technology and agriculture, leading to more efficient and productive farming operations.

Natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are widely used energy sources in households, but they pose significant safety risks. To mitigate these dangers, we have developed an IoT-based safety system designed for early detection and intervention. The system promptly identifies gas leaks and automatically shuts off the gas supply to prevent potential hazards. It is also equipped with a camera for detecting fires in vulnerable areas. Key features include real-time monitoring of gas concentrations and ambient temperature, displayed on an integrated interface, and the transmission of emergency alerts to users via the Blynk mobile application. The system is composed of a central control unit and multiple sub-units strategically placed in high-risk areas to enhance safety coverage. This cost-effective and efficient solution offers a proactive approach to preventing accidents, safeguarding lives, and protecting property.

Precise and accurate online monitoring methods are needed to enable smart biomanufacturing and automation. Most of the sensors available focus on process parameters such as metabolite and dissolved gas concentrations, cell density or viability, among other variables like pH, temperature, etc. In this work, we develop a soft sensor algorithm to estimate the cell composition online, a very important aspect often overlooked in the bioprocess monitoring literature. Our strategy is based on full information estimation, an optimization-based estimator that takes into account the dynamics of the cell metabolism and considers all the available measurements from the beginning of the process, thus it has a memory effect. Being able to track dynamic changes in cell composition can open the door to promising applications, e.g., predictive control and automation of biosystems. As a case study, we consider the Escherichia coli's metabolism growing on glycerol under different levels of oxygen supply. We compare the performance of our soft sensor method against resource balance analysis, a previously proposed estimator based on steady-state assumptions. Overall, the presented full information estimator was able to track the dynamic changes in cell composition significantly more accurately. We also discuss how our estimation strategy can be transformed into a moving horizon estimation, where only the available measurements in a fixed and moving window are considered, thereby reducing possible computational burdens. Mixed reality device sensing capabilities are valuable for robots, for example, the inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor and time-of-flight (TOF) depth sensor can support the robot in navigating its environment. This paper demonstrates a deep learning (YOLO model) background, real-time object detection system implemented on mixed reality device. The goal of the system is to create a real-time communication system between HoloLens and Ubuntu systems to enable real-time object detection using the YOLO model. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a fast speed to achieve real-time object detection using HoloLens. This enables Microsoft HoloLens as a device for robot vision. To enhance human-robot interaction, we will apply it to a wearable robot arm system to automatically grasp objects in the future.

This research introduces an innovative Adaptive Optimizer for speed control in smart vehicles, integrating advanced object detection algorithms (YOLOv3, R-CNN, SSD, Faster R-CNN) with sophisticated sensor fusion techniques (Kalman Filter, Particle Filter, Deep Learning Fusion). The Adaptive Optimizer dynamically selects the most suitable algorithms based on real-time environmental data, including lighting conditions (day, dusk, night), speed (low, medium, high), and weather conditions (clear, rainy, foggy). This selection ensures optimal performance and safe navigation by adjusting vehicle speed according to detected conditions. The system's effectiveness is evaluated using key metrics such as accuracy, processing time, and computational complexity, along with regression models to analyze errors and computation times. A feedback loop from the final speed control stage informs the optimizer, enhancing decision-making. Our findings highlight the tradeoffs between speed and accuracy, emphasizing the importance of adaptive and probabilistic decision-making for enhanced vehicle safety and efficiency. This adaptive approach is crucial for the development of smart vehicles, ensuring they can respond effectively to varying environmental challenges.

The healthcare landscape in India, like in many countries, faces disparities between urban and rural areas. While major cities boast advanced medical infrastructure, rural regions struggle with limited healthcare access, insufficient doctor-to-patient ratios, and poor road connectivity. The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the importance of robust healthcare systems. This paper proposes a cost-effective telehealth system to bridge this urban-rural healthcare gap. This paper discusses the historical development of telehealth technology, highlighting its early phases, rapid development, and current technological maturity. It then presents a novel system model "Sahara", focusing on the integration of temperature and pulse sensors to record patient health vitals. The system utilizes portable devices equipped with sensors to collect patient health data, which is wirelessly transmitted to the cloud. Doctors and caregivers can access this data through a secure web interface for remote diagnosis and treatment. The system ensures a simple user interface, is independent of electricity, and provides a low-cost solution for aggregating patient data. By leveraging readily available technology, this system has the potential to significantly improve healthcare access in rural India. The paper also reviews the evolution of telehealth technologies, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the field. The system transfers these physiological data to the cloud using a WiFi module and stores them in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The data is accessible to authorized doctors and caretakers through a web interface. The paper also describes the implementation details of the system, both from the front-end and back-end perspectives, including user registration, appointment scheduling, and data integration. company, factory, hospital, and municipality. In those areas, there are several concerns, such as fuel quantity indication and fuel theft by generator operators. Fuel theft is also a serious problem throughout the world. This project demonstrates a solution for indicating the amount of fuel available in the fuel tank and the amount of fuel consumed by the generators. The operator should regularly record the gasoline level. This solution includes a GSM modem that sends SMS alerts to the owner when fuel theft occurs. Using two flow level sensors, one flow level sensor displays fuel intake to the tank and the other flow level sensor measures fuel. Fuel management is crucial for the efficient operation of generators, particularly in remote locations or during emergencies where uninterrupted power supply is vital. This abstract presents an innovative solution for enhancing fuel level indication and detecting theft in generator systems. The proposed system integrates advanced sensors and technology to provide real-time monitoring of fuel levels in generator tanks. Ultrasonic or capacitive sensors are deployed to accurately measure the fuel level, ensuring precise readings and timely refueling. Additionally, a comprehensive monitoring interface is developed, allowing users to access fuel level data remotely via a smart phone application or web portal. Moreover, the system incorporates sophisticated theft detection mechanisms to safeguard against unauthorized fuel siphoning or tampering. Utilizing intelligent algorithms and motion sensors, any suspicious activity around the generator fuel tank triggers immediate alerts to designated personnel. Furthermore, GPS tracking capabilities enable precise location monitoring, facilitating swift response to potential theft incidents. In this study, a dexterous manipulation control scheme is presented, designed to facilitate the collaborative completion of various tasks using a bionic prosthesis and the healthy upper limb of a human. First, different “attractive region in environment” (ARIE) is established for specific bimanual tasks. This approach helps eliminate system uncertainty through state-independent inputs. Then a general human-robot interaction (HRI) control framework is presented, which relies on the virtual ARIE and the environment-constrained energy function. This framework is designed for collaborative tasks involving the healthy limb and prosthesis within the same workspace. Finally, a stable and unified controller consists of the environment constrained energy function and an adaptive robust method is designed for various prosthetic tasks. This controller is tailored for diverse prosthetic tasks, seamlessly integrating various task requirements and modes into a cohesive prosthetic control strategy. The proposed manipulation scheme for cooperating between the prosthesis and the healthy limb is shown to be effective by the experiment results.

One of the helpful tool for measuring and managing home power consumption is one of the clever and creative tool for tracking the usage of Home Power Management system. The Goal of this system is to lower the power bills, also promote energy efficiency, and provide the users active control over how much energy they use. Smart meters, an intuitive and user-friendly smartphone app, and real-time energy monitoring sensors are some of the system's essential parts and these are the key parts of the system. Installing smart meters makes it possible to accurately track the power usage and provide data to the system. Users can be able to see their energy usage instantly and make smart decisions when real-time energy monitoring equipment is included. Further, the system uses advanced smart technology, analytics and machine learning algorithms to provide clients customized suggestions on how to save energy consumption. Homes may save a lot of money on electricity bills, help the environment, and have more control over how much energy they use by using our Smart Home Power Management system.
