This paper presents an IoT-based smart irrigation system designed to optimize water usage and improve crop growth by providing real-time monitoring and automated control of key water parameters. The system integrates soil moisture, temperature, and humidity sensors with microcontrollers, transmitting data to a cloud platform for remote access via an intuitive user interface. This eliminates manual data collection and allows farmers to monitor and adjust irrigation settings in real time. The architecture is flexible, easy to implement, and adaptable to different crops. Results show significant improvements in water efficiency and crop yields, with future work to incorporate predictive irrigation through machine learning.

Unified Military Vehicular sensor Network (UM-VSNET) aims to build a multi-base vehicular sensor network using aerial, land-based, and underwater sensor nodes under a single architecture. The future VSNET used in military environments requires secure and unified control optimization strategies at various war bases such as land, air, sea surface, and undersea. The unmanned army vehicles used in land, air, sea, and undersea environments get more crucial spots to counter any vulnerabilities and provide sustainable electronic battlefield security features. The recent works in this domain have limitations on heterogeneous and multi-medium handover opportunities. Most of the existing mechanisms mainly execute uniform handover protocols among wireless nodes. These are insufficient for unified military vehicular networks since they are more versatile regarding medium principles, internal resources, functional targets, security expectations, and autonomous capabilities. On the scope, the proposed model initiates heterogeneous handover principles with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and interactive autonomous capabilities. The proposed research creates Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), terrestrial mobile, and maritime network models with crucial configuration parameters. The article proposes Multi-Medium Handover Transactions with Interactive and Protected Self-Intelligence Principles for Unified Vehicular sensor Networks (MH-IPUV) on the developed network platform. MH-IPUV consists of heterogeneous medium access control policies, vehicular mobility models (aerial, land, and sea), distributed confidential (advanced Encryption Standard, AES) and authentication procedures (Elliptic Curve Cryptography-Digital Signature, ECCDS), Secure Hashing Algorithm (SHA-3), and secure AI-based handover principles. the aim of this work is an improvement of previous work on greenhouse monitoring using smart sensors network, hardware and software design is presented to control and monitoring greenhouse parameters such as: air temperature, humidity and CO2 gas emission then providing irrigation, ventilation and enrichment of the sol with appropriate chemical products. The smart nodes for WSAN (wireless sensor and actuators network) transfer the data to and from a Laptop via a wireless transmission hardware agent, a simulation based on fuzzy logic controller is provided in order to make smart decision. As a result;the command devices, fans, vapor injectors and heaters will changed to reach the requested condition. A friendly Graphic user interface using high level language was developed to carry out the monitoring tasks. The control algorithms is used to receive data that includes the set points and issuing signals to activate the appropriate devices to get the appropriate condition. The system performance was tested by installing four smart actuators and sensors in the greenhouse. © 2021 IEEE.

Lift is an indispensable means of transportation in our daily life. Lift safety is a great concern with large-scale deployment and heavy use. To enhance lift safety, Internet of Things (IoT) devices have been applied in lift systems to provide smart services, such as remote control, emergency alarms, etc. However, large amounts of interconnections from different end devices embedded with different sensors cause difficulties in interoperability. To be specific, different end devices from different manufactures have their own hardware and software design, which is difficult to integrate into one lift system. In addition, different sensors (e.g., current sensor for motor, brake, etc.) has different data structure, data precision, etc., which is difficult to verify the data accuracy. To address these interoperability issues, a sensor Compliance (SC) design based on IEEE 2668 standard is developed for lift safety application. In SC design, standardized interface with Digital Information Specification (DIS) is developed to store essential sensor information, etc. Through standardized SC design, different sensors from different manufacturers can be integrated, which enables sensor-plug-and-play and improve system interoperability. Besides, data accuracy evaluation is performed on the prototype, which verifies the effectiveness and efficiency of the SC design for lift safety. Through standardized evaluation, guidance on blending of lift safety to evolve into better performance.

Common spatial pattern (CSP) is one of the most popular feature extraction techniques that performs well in the field of brain-computer interface (BCI). However, the classical CSP based on the squared Frobenious norm is known to be sensitive to noise and prone to overfitting. In recent years, efforts have been made to solve the problem of robust and sparse modeling. Therefore, we describe the formulation of a CSP criterion by using the L21-norm and add the L21-norm regularization term. The regularized version of the L21-norm-based common spatial pattern is termed RCSP-L21 in this paper. An iterative algorithm is designed to obtain the spatial filters of the regularized objective function. Experimental results on EEG dataset IIa of BCI Competition IV verify the effectiveness of our new method. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents the design and development of a real-time monitoring system for DC microgrids in solar farms using an MQTT-based IIoT device integrated with Node-RED. The system incorporates voltage and current sensors connected to solar panels, with an ESP32 microcontroller reading data from the sensors to calculate power output. This data is transmitted to a Raspberry Pi server via a WiFi network, utilizing the MQTT protocol for efficient and reliable communication. Node-RED manages and visualizes the data flow, providing a user-friendly interface through its dashboard for monitoring real-time voltage, current, and power readings. This integration of IIoT devices with Node-RED streamlines data collection, processing, and visualization, enhancing solar farms' overall monitoring and control. The proposed system's scalability allows for the seamless addition of new sensors and microgrids without substantial modifications, addressing the need for flexible expansion in large-scale solar farms. Detailed flow diagrams and performance evaluations are included to demonstrate the system's effectiveness and reliability in real-time applications. Compared to existing monitoring solutions, this system offers lower costs, higher scalability, and enhanced real-time data processing capabilities, making it suitable for deployment in various renewable energy environments.

Sintering machines are the core production equipment in the metallurgical industry. Most sintering machines currently utilize flexible drive transmission systems. The output shaft speed of the flexible drive three-ring reducer is notably low. On-site monitoring of equipment operating conditions often relies on traditional methods such as vibration measurement, temperature measurement, and auscultation. However, the effectiveness of these approaches is limited. They can only identify abnormalities in the later stages of a malfunction, making it challenging to pinpoint the specific cause of equipment failure. This article introduces a stress wave system that employs advanced stress wave sensors tailored to capture internal impact and abnormal friction signals from the equipment. This system is designed for monitoring flexible drive failures in sintering machines, with diagnostic conclusions validated through equipment examination.

Agriculture plays an indispensable role in daily life, and presently, soilless cultivation techniques such as hydroponics enjoy widespread popularity. In efforts to advance this methodology, we have implemented a sophisticated Programmable Logic controllers (PLCs) system tailored for Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic cultivation within a greenhouse setting. This system incorporates a diverse array of sensors designed to measure crucial parameters including water temperature, Electrical Conductivity (EC), and Potential of Hydrogen ion ($\mathbf{p H}$) levels. The PLCs is meticulously programmed to oversee and regulate the entire cultivation process seamlessly. Additionally, integration of a Raspberry Pi facilitates Internet of Things (IoT) functionalities, thereby enhancing convenience and enabling remote monitoring capabilities. We aim to conduct a comparative analysis between two distinct greenhouse systems: one under the control of the PLC, and the other devoid of such automated control, in order to discern and evaluate the disparities in plant growth and development between them. The study focuses on key variables such as canopy width and leaf count of Green Oak Lettuce over a 5 -week period, with the primary environmental factors influencing these variables being the levels of EC and pH in the nutrient solution. The findings of this study will provide valuable insights into the benefits of environmental control in greenhouse-based hydroponic cultivation of green oak lettuce, contributing to the advancement of sustainable and efficient agricultural practices.

As a novel type of artificial media created recently, metamaterials demonstrate novel performance and consequently pave the way for potential applications in the area of practical engineering in comparison with the conventional materials. Acoustic metamaterials and phononic crystals possess a wide variety of exceptional physical features. These include effective negative parameters, band gaps, negative refraction, etc. Doing so, the acoustic properties of existing materials are extended. Acoustic metamaterials are periodic structures with the effective properties that can be tuned seeking for the dramatic control on wave propagation. Homogenization of the infinite periodic system is needed aiming to calculate permittivity of metamaterial. Dispersion properties of surface waves propagating at the interface between a nanocomposite made of a semiconductor inclusions systematically distributed in a transparent matrix and low-dimensional acoustic metamaterial, constructed by an array of nanowires implanted in a host material are investigated. We observed propagation of surface plasmon polaritons. It is demonstrated that one may dramatically modify properties of the system by tuning the geometry of inclusions. © 2022 advanced Electromagnetics Symposium. All rights reserved.

Brain-Computer interface (BCI) is a communication system that allows to create interfaces between the human brain and artificial devices. With the advent of consumer grade EEG devices, BCI-controlled games began to be designed. The designed games have features that can be evaluated in the category of competitive games in the entertainment sector and serious games in the medical *** this study;two level 2D game was designed that includes single and multi tasking, which provides virtual character control with both BCI and HCI. Two dissimilar BCI prediction algorithms were used in this game designed using a game engine that supports many platforms. Performance metrics obtained from our experiments designed using the developed game for two different methods, estimation algorithms and levels were compared each other. © 2021 IEEE.
