Electron-optical image converters (EOIC) have been known to be useful in recording and investigating highspeed processes, nuclear physics experiments, automatic environmental control, medicine etc. In this paper the cathode ray tubes with the cathodoluminescent screen having a sufficiently high level of the radiation temporal coherence (particularly on the basis of rare-earth phosphors) are proposed to be utilised as devices for the dynamic data input into the holographic correlator for realisation of TV signal recognition in real time. This approach allows combining both the radiation source and the spatial light modulator functions in one compact device.

This paper considers ''blind beamforming'' operations on a wireless network of randomly distributed MEM sensors. Maximum power collection criterion is proposed and results in array weights obtained from the eigenvector corresponding to largest eigenvalue of a matrix eigenvalue problem. Theoretical justification of this approach to an extension of Szego's asymptotic distribution of eigenvalues is provided. Numerical results on propagation time delay estimation and loss of coherency due to propagation disturbances are presented.

Time-frequency distributions (TFDs) have proven useful in a wide variety of nonstationary signalprocessing applications. While sophisticated optimal bilinear TFDs have been developed to extract the maximum possible time- frequency information from signals, certain applications dictate simpler linear, running-FFT processing techniques. In this paper, we propose a signal-dependent short-time Fourier transform/spectrogram that enjoys many of the advantages of optimal bilinear TFDs yet retains the simplicity and efficiency of running-FFT processing. In this paper, a method for signal component separation, operating in the Time-Frequency (TF) plane and employing a Turbo Estimation Algorithm (TEA), is described. A novel 2D distribution is proposed, named Two Window Spectrogram (TWS), which is free from crossterms and able to yield good time anti frequency resolution. Then, a set of parameters is defined in the time-frequency plane, which are able to carry the relevant information on the signal components. An algorithm of estimation of these parameters is proposed, making use of a TEA scheme to yield improved performance. The algorithm has been tested by simulation, yielding very encouraging performance.

This paper is devoted to change detection for precision agriculture. It presents a new change detection methodology and an overview of an online image processing tool (***) with direct applicability for crop classification. The change detection algorithms discussed in the paper will be implemented on the web. They preserve the fine details of the pixel changes and furthermore may be used for crop classification. Image registration, calibration/normalization, pixel level transformations, clutter suppression and pixel level change detection are discussed and new technologies are presented. The effectiveness of the proposed technology is being tested on real SAR data with partial truthing.

Analytical approximations of translational subpixel shifts in both signal and image registrations are derived by setting the derivatives of a normalized cross correlation function to zero and solving them. Without the need of iterative searching, this methods achieves a complexity of only O(mn), given an image size of m x n. Without the need to upsample, computation memory is also saved. Tests using simulated signals and images show good results.
