The separation column used for experimentations one model can be configured in two ways: one-two columns of different diameters placed one within the other extension, and second way, one column with set diameter [1], [2]. The column separates the carbon isotopes based on the cryogenic distillation of pure carbon monoxide, which is fed at a constant flow rate as a gas through the feeding system [1],[2]. Based on numerical control systems used in virtual instrumentation was done some simulations of the distillation process in order to obtain of the isotope 13C at high concentrations. The experimental installation for cryogenic separation can be configured from the point of view of the separation column in two ways: Cascade-two columns of different diameters and placed one in the extension of the other column, and second one column with a set diameter. It is proposed that this installation is controlled to achieve data using a data acquisition tool and professional software that will process information from the isotopic column based on a logical dedicated algorithm. Classical isotopic column will be controlled automatically, and information about the main parameters will be monitored and properly display using one program. Take in consideration the very-low operating temperature, an efficient thermal isolation vacuum jacket is necessary. Since the "elementary separation ratio" [2] is very close to unity in order to raise the ( 13C) isotope concentration up to a desired level, a permanent counter current of the liquid-gaseous phases of the carbon monoxide is created by the main elements of the equipment: the boiler in the bottom-side of the column and the condenser in the top-side.

This paper describes a control system of a three-axis aerial inertially stabilized platform(ISP). A control scheme based on PID is proposed, whose parameters are determined with the help of simulation analysis. The hardware and software systems are then designed. The experiments are carried out to validate the system. The results show that the system is effective and with satisfied precision.

The goal of this workshop is to introduce open modular hardware and software system "iSES Remote Lab SDK" (iSES - internet School Experimental Studio) designed for easy creation of real remotely controlled laboratories (RCL) that are accessible from PC, tablets and mobile phones. Open modular system iSES Remote Lab SDK consists of approx. 20 freely distributable JavaScript objects in commented source code. Widgets are highly configurable and provide many well documented options and allow to build a complex measurement and control interface with data and video transfer. Open modular system iSES Remote Lab SDK can communicate with different measurement platforms (ISES, Arduino are ready; CMA CoachLab, Vernier etc. are tested), and also common universal measurement devices with a COM or USB port, further universal rotation and linear motion stepper motors, etc.). We will demonstrate our 18 online advanced remote labs accessible at ***. All participants of the workshop will receive a fully functional lite version of the iSES Remote Lab SDK for Arduino-Uno so they can try to control a physics experiment remotely, download data and process it. Any user may have an access to the RCL on PC and mobile devices (iPad, smart phone, etc.) as well. The workshop participants will build and test several Arduino-Uno Remote experiments by putting selected components of the iSES Remote Lab SDK together, which includes assembling both hardware and software components in a custom way so that any user can control the experiment remotely. Even non-programmers can build up a simple RCL and publish it in 15 minutes on the Internet! We introduce a new measurement system ISES-LAN which is based on Internet of Things.

This paper presents an application by integrating theories through an experimental setup. In the literature it is found that, researchers designs advanced controllers and presents only simulation results. The motivation here is in-house design and fabrication of level setup and understands the practical difficulties in the real time implementation of software based controllers. They are easy for programming, monitoring and gives platform to develop GUI for mimic the process. This work is the sincere effort to design and real time implementation of LabVIEW based PI controller for laboratory purpose level setup. The mathematical model of the level system is obtained using process reaction curve method and NI ELVIS-II hardware is used as an interface. Tuning methods like Ziegler Nichols, Cohen Coon are considered for smooth control of dynamic level. The performance of simulated and realtime PI controller for different scenario are presented and it is observed that the time domain parameters are in close agreement. Also, a facility of remote triggering of this setup is developed using LabVIEW web server applications.

This paper presents a new twenty seven level cascaded H-bridge multi level inverter for locomotives. This proposed multi level inverter can overcome the need for a large number of electronic switches when the number of level increased. This proposed topology increases the efficiency of the inverter by reducing the switching losses using pulse width modulation technique. Recently in Japan they developed an advanced inverter drive system for bullet trains. By comparing all multilevel inverter topologies this proposed topology can achieve economic voltage control in locomotives which can reduce the total harmonic distortion in both electronic devices and traction motor in general. The proposed multilevel inverter and total harmonic distortion results with MATLAB software was described in this paper.

High precision camera, designed for advanced optical system, with a wide field of vision, high resolution and fast response, has a wild range of applications. As the main payload for spacecraft, the optical remote sensor is mounted exposed to the space, which means it should have a reliable optical performance in harsh space environment during lifetime. Because of the special optical characteristic, imaging path should be accurate, and less thermal deformation for the optical parts is required in the working process, so the high precision camera has a high level requirement for temperature. High resolution space camera is generally required to own the capability of adapting to space thermal environments. The flexible satellite's change of rolling attitude affects the temperature distribution of the camera and makes a difference to optical performance. The thermal control design of space camera is presented, and analysis the temperature data in orbit to prove the thermal design correct. It is proved that the rolling attitude has more influence on outer parts and less influence on inner parts, and active thermal control can weaken the influence of rolling attitude.

The pre-slit system of Chinese SONG spectrograph is a multi-function unit. The main function is to direct the incoming light from the coude path to the entrance slit of the spectrograph. The specific functions includes maintaining exit pupil stable, fast guiding and telescope focus corrections. The original optics of this pre-slit system were designed by Aarhus University in Denmark. We built the system and designed the software for it. This system holds a guide/slit-viewing camera, a pupil-viewing camera, two tip-tilt mirrors and its tip-tilt controllers. So it includes two sets of the fast-steering mirror systems applied to image tracking and correction. When this image tracking and correction systems is running, the real-time software algorithm will be presented and simulated simultaneously. From the images taken with camera, a closed loop signals are generated for the tip-tilt mirror to correct image motion. When the camera exposure time is 25ms, the correcting frequency of slit imge tip-tilt motion is about 30Hz. The correcting frequency of pupil imge tip-tilt motion is about 1Hz. In addition, a temperature control system surrounding the spectrograph is necessary to keep spectrograph at a constant temperature. The test results shows that the error is about +/- 0.005 degrees C in 69.4 hours. The results prove that the pre-slit system of Chinese SONG spectrograph is effective and feasible.

We present an overview of the 'ICE' hardware and software framework that implements large arrays of interconnected FPGA-based data acquisition, signal processing and networking nodes economically. The system was conceived for application to radio, millimeter and sub-millimeter telescope readout systems that have requirements beyond typical off-the-shelf processing systems, such as careful control of interference signals produced by the digital electronics, and clocking of all elements in the system from a single precise observatory-derived oscillator. A new generation of telescopes operating at these frequency bands and designed with a vastly increased emphasis on digital signal processing to support their detector multiplexing technology or high-bandwidth correlators - data rates exceeding a terabyte per second - are becoming common. The ICE system is built around a custom FPGA motherboard that makes use of an Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA and ARM-based co-processor. The system is specialized for specific applications through software, firmware, and custom mezzanine daughter boards that interface to the FPGA through the industry-standard FMC specifications. For high density applications, the motherboards are packaged in 16-slot crates with ICE backplanes that implement a low-cost passive full-mesh network between the motherboards in a crate, allow high bandwidth interconnection between crates, and enable data offload to a computer cluster. A Python-based control software library automatically detects and operates the hardware in the array. Examples of specific telescope applications of the ICE framework are presented, namely the frequency-multiplexed bolometer readout systems used for the SPT and Simons Array and the digitizer, F-engine, and networking engine for the CHIME and HIRAX radio interferometers.

Flow control is essential in many industrial applications such as chemical reactors, heat exchangers and distillation columns. Most industrial processes exhibit nonlinearities and inherit dead time, which limit the performance of conventional PID controllers. This Project is about the design and implementation of Fuzzy Logic controller (FLC) for flow control applications. The objective is to overcome problems inherited with conventional PID control scheme such as handling unpredictable disturbance, non-measurable noise as well as further improve the transient state and steady state response performance. The proposed control scheme is implemented in Flow control and Calibration Pilot Plant. The design is done using Matlab/Simulink software package and is connected to the Pilot Plant through USB-type DAQ cards. Simulation and implementation results showed that the developed controller has less overshoot, good control performance, better disturbance handling ability, great robustness and is more flexible and intuitive to tune. It is expected that this advanced controller improves efficiency and productivity of industrial processes through proper handling of any disturbance or noise and increase the robustness of controller actions.
