The optoelectronics education included in electronics curricula at Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology of "Politehnica" University of Bucharest started in early '90s, and evolved constantly since then, trying to address the growing demand of engineers with a complex optoelectronics profile and to meet the increased requirements of microelectronics, optoelectronics, and lately nanotechnologies. Our goal is to provide a high level of theoretical background combined with advanced experimental tools in laboratories, and also with simulation platforms. That's why we propose an advanced educational program in optoelectronics for both grades of our study program, bachelor and master.

Drastic device shrinking, power supply reduction, and increasing operating speeds that accompany the technological evolution to deeper submicron, reduce significantly the noise margins and thus the reliability of deep submicron ICs. A more significant problem is related to the single-event upsets (SEUs). It is predicted that neutrons produced by the sun activity will affect dramatically the operation of future Integrated Circuits (Ics). Self-test and fault tolerance in submicron and nanotechnologies becoming hitherto imperative. Perhaps the most significant problem concerns the sensitivity of future IC generations face to various noise sources, and in particularly face to energetic particles. This paper analyses some of designing soft-error tolerant circuits.

Up to present, air cooling systems still raise several unsolved problems due to conditions imposed by the environment in terms of temperature and pollution levels. The present paper investigates the impact of the engine cooling degree upon its performances, as important specific power is desired for as low as possible fuel consumption. A technical solution advanced by the authors[1], consists of constructing a bi-flux compressor, which can enhance the engine's performances. The bi-flux axial compressor accomplishes two major functions, that is it cools down the engine and it also turbocharges it. The present paper investigates the temperature changes corresponding to the fresh load, during the use of a bi-flux axial compressor. This compressor is economically simple, compact, and offers an optimal response at low rotational speeds of the engine, when two compression steps are used. The influence of the relative coefficient of air temperature drop upon working agent temperature at the intercooler exit is also investigated in the present work. The variation of the thermal load coefficient by report to the working agent temperature is also investigated during engine cooling. The variation of the average combustion temperature is analyzed in correlation to the thermal load coefficient and the temperatures of the working fluid at its exit from the cooling system. An exergetic analysis was conducted upon the influence of the cooling degree on the motor fluid and the gases resulted from the combustion process. © 2016 SPIE.

It is well known that our times require a high energy demand, resulting in an acute climate change due to carbon dioxide emissions, as well as that fossil fuels are limited and their amount started to be diminished. To cover worldwide energy consumption, mankind should focus on the more intensive use of renewable energy sources, which present a huge potential to ensure the energy supply in the long run. For an affordable renewable energy, it is expected to be seen a significant development of the specific technologies, nanotechnologies being strong contributors to a green energy supply. This paper is discussing about the establishment of a marine renewables network (MRNBSR), having 6 offices in maritime universities from countries that border the Black Sea: Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and Turkey. This establishment aims to intensify the role that marine renewables can play in the energy system of coastline countries and also the facilitation of the integration of nanotechnologies into maritime renewables sector in the region, based on the reality that universities are centers of research and innovation. The new formed network will work as a coordinator of the will to increase the deployment of renewable energy use. Will be given the steps to be followed in the setting up of the network. After the establishment, in these offices will work personnel with specific tasks -which will be described in the paper.
