The global data explosion has heightened the demand for advanced optoelectronic information storage technologies but developing multidimensional and deep-trap persistent luminescence (PersL) in organic storage media remains a significant challenge. Herein, donor-acceptor-donor wedge-shape thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitter 2,5-bis(4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)-7-oxo-7H-benzo[de]benzo[4,5]imidazo[2,1-a] isoquinoline-10,11-dicarbonitrile (TCN) is designed for PersL host/guest system, enabling multi-mode excitation and stimulation forms, approximate to 0.72 eV deep trap depth, 6.1% aggregation-induced quenching effect. UV, visible light (425-630 nm), and X-ray efficiently triggered deep traps with nearly identical depth values, deviating less than 0.04 eV from density functional theory calculations. The thermoluminescence peak Tm at 385 K (heating rate at 50 K min-1), coupled with near-infrared (NIR) stimulation wavelengths extending to 1300 nm, greatly exceeds room temperature storage capacities, ensuring consistent intensity for over 1 month of information retention. The multi-mode optical information storage and retrieval capability of this PersL media extended its application scope to include blue-laser direct writing, X-ray time-lapse imaging, and NIR electronic signatures. This study on deep-trap PersL storage media significantly advances the understanding of molecular design and luminescent mechanisms in organic semiconductors, with broad implications for enhancing their energy storage applications in diverse scenarios.

data storage is a commodity in the modern day digital era, which is often overlooked when advances in other fields as AI are headlined. It is forecast, that the demand of storage will surpass the supply, yet there is no solution available to close this gap. Our research aims to revolutionize optical data storage by employing inert data carriers made of thin glass and ceramic coatings, combined with femtosecond (fs) laser technology. This approach offers a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and low-maintenance long-term data storage solution on a Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) medium. We utilize laser ablation of thin films with ultrashort pulses, enhancing the write/read process through massive parallelization enabled by beam shaping and a Micro-Opto-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MOEMS) device, alongside GigE camera technology. data is stored as physical matrices on ceramic-on-glass sheets and retrieved via an image processing chain subsequent to high-speed microscopy. storage and retrieval were successfully demonstrated in a working prototype, where this technology has already shown significant potential to achieve high writing and reading speeds in the gigabytes per second (GB/s) range. Furthermore, initial media lifetime estimates are promising, reinforcing the viability and durability of this innovative solution. © 2025 SPIE.

optical satellites with infrared, visible light, multi-spectral and hyper-spectral cameras, are effective means to achieve multi-targets surveillance. In the scenarios of ultra-high data rate and high temporal sensitivity, it is difficult to transmit high-volume data from the satellite to the ground due to the limited satellite-to-ground data transmission link. Therefore, on-orbit computing becomes a superior choice. In this paper, an intelligent heterogeneous system is proposed for on-orbit computing of optical images. Key technologies, including lightweight intelligent processing algorithms, intelligent heterogeneous platforms and distributed computing, are researched aiming at achieving high performance on-orbit computing. Compared with conventional computing, the proposed on-orbit computing system has advantages of low cost, low power consumption, high timeliness and high integration, providing support for the construction of an efficient intelligent space-based optical surveillance system. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) has emerged as a groundbreaking technology in seismology, transforming fiber-optic cables into dense, cost-effective seismic monitoring arrays. DAS makes use of Rayleigh backscattering to detect and measure dynamic strain and vibrations over extended distances. It can operate using both pre-existing telecommunication networks and specially designed fibers. This review explores the principles of DAS, including Coherent optical Time Domain Reflectometry (COTDR) and Phase-Sensitive OTDR (phi-OTDR), and discusses the role of optoelectronic interrogators in data acquisition. It examines recent advancements in fiber design, such as helically wound and engineered fibers, which improve DAS sensitivity, spatial resolution, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Additionally, innovations in deployment techniques include cemented borehole cables, flexible liners, and weighted surface coupling to further enhance mechanical coupling and data accuracy. This review also demonstrated the applications of DAS across earthquake detection, microseismic monitoring, reservoir characterization and monitoring, carbon storage sites, geothermal reservoirs, marine environments, and urban infrastructure surveillance. The study highlighted several challenges of DAS, including directional sensitivity limitations, vast data volumes, and calibration inconsistencies. It also addressed solutions to these problems, such as advances in signal processing, noise suppression techniques, and machine learning integration, which have improved real-time analysis and data interpretability, enabling DAS to compete with traditional seismic networks. Additionally, modeling approaches such as full waveform inversion and forward simulations provide valuable insights into subsurface dynamics and fracture monitoring. With the development of power system, the processing of unstructured power material data has become increasingly important, especially in the context of diverse data types and expanding scale. Unstructured data accounts for a considerable proportion, such as images, videos, text and so on. The processing of these data is very important for the efficiency and accuracy of power material management. The emergence of edge computation framework provides new ideas and methods for the processing of unstructured power material data. Using edge computation framework to process these unstructured data can effectively improve the efficiency of data processing, reduce cloud dependence, and optimize data storage and security management. Digital images are captured by various fixed and mobile cameras, compressed with traditional and novel techniques, transmitted through different communication channels, and stored in various storage devices. Distortions can occur at each stage of the image acquisition, processing, transmission and storage pipeline, resulting in loss of perceptual information and degradation of quality. Therefore, image quality assessment is becoming increasingly important in monitoring image quality and ensuring the reliability of image processing systems. And as the most widely applicable and usable of the image quality assessment fields, a large number of learning-based no-reference quality assessment studies have been conducted in recent years. In this survey, we provide an up-to-date and comprehensive review of these studies. Specifically, this paper presents recent advances in the field of deep learning-based no-reference quality assessment and provides an overview of benchmark databases for deep learning-based no-reference quality assessment tasks as well as assessment metrics and the backbone networks commonly used in quality assessment tasks. © 2025 SPIE.

The massive storage capacity of electronic devices has significantly increased the volume of evidentiary data encountered in digital forensic investigations. As a result, the automation of digital evidence analysis employing deep learning techniques has become a trend. The training data distributions for deep learning techniques are typically balanced, which means that the data size of each class is roughly the same. However, in the digital forensics domain, evidence is mostly imbalanced, containing a large proportion of normal data and a small proportion of anomalous data. As a result, deep learning algorithms have to be enhanced to achieve good performance on imbalanced evidentiary data. This chapter focuses on a common digital evidence analysis task - identifying Android malware dispersed in a large number of normal files. An imbalance tuning method leveraging bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT) is employed to overcome the imbalanced data problem. The BERT model is trained with balanced training data and subsequently tuned using imbalanced data. The model achieves a low false positive rate and a high malware detection rate with an overall performance (F-score) of 90.26% when the positive sample population in the testing set is set to 1%.

In the era of digital world data flows are saturated with development of universal multifunctional system to solve problems and to optimise the computing resources. To address these challenges artificial intelligence technology can be used for execution of digital telecommunication complex for processing and storing the dynamic flow of data that are in multi format. The prospects and trends can be identified to develop these models based on the perspective characteristics. The development of digital communication with multi object analytic system for storing and analysing complex data with data engineering. An fuzzy based model is used for data processing with enhanced accuracy of 98%. © 2025 IEEE.

With the development of information technology, industry 4.0, mobile applications, etc., the volume of data has shown explosive growth, NoSQL databases are widely used to support data storage and access services. To resolve the write amplification problem for the common storage architecture LSM-Tree, this paper proposes a novel merge scheme, namely LSMA-Tree, by combining the reading technique of leveling scheme and the writing technique of tiering scheme. For each layer of LSM-Tree, this paper maintains the order of the whole key by files like leveling scheme. Furthermore, in the merging stage of the upper and lower files, LSMA-Tree adopts the "append" rather than "reorganization" method to avoid the read and write operations of the lower files, thereby reducing the number of disk IOs. This paper also designs a new sstable file structure to adapt to the proposed LSMA scheme, and implements and verifies it on LevelDB. Experimental results show that the proposed LSMA scheme can effectively reduce write amplification and improve write performance by more than 50%, while the impact on read performance is less than 5%. © 2025 SPIE.

Joint optimization planning of new energy, energy storage, and power grid is very complex task, and its mathematical optimization model usually contains a large number of the variables and constraints, some of which are even difficult to accurately represent in model. The study shows that the charging and the discharging situations of the six energy storage stations (the Dayan Energy storage Station) on September 1st were respectively counted. All six stations were charged during the low valley period in the evening (0:00-8:00), discharged during the peak period in the afternoon (12:00-14:00) for the first time, charged at the same level in the afternoon (17:00-20:00), and discharged during the peak period in the evening (20:00-22:00) for the second time. Daily power generation of each month exhibits the unique operating pattern, and the overall trend of power generation gradually increases in the first 8 months. And power generation characteristics of two typical energy storage power stations within 1-31 days are similar, with the main difference being that there are certain differences in the specific power generation. © 2025 SPIE.
