Today many media of information storage device are formed as disks. Hence, next generation removable datastorage media are shaped as disk types too. The holographic datastorage system also uses a disk type photopolymer media. And then, holographic datastorage system is most advanced optical memory system. In 1948, Dennis Gabor made the insightful observation that the phase formation in a diffracted wavefront could be recorded by interference with a coherent background. It was not until the early 1960s with the invention of the laser that the technology became practical for storing and retrieving images, and the concepts of holographic datastorage were established by van Heerden. In his seminal paper in 1963 on the theory of optical information storage in solids, van Heerden postulated that the recording of interference patterns in a three-dimensional medium could be used as a means of storing and retrieving information (Holographic datastorage, Springer, New York, 2000). Tracking servo and tilt servo control are very important research in holographic datastorage system. In this paper, we propose intelligent servo control by fuzzy rules in holographic datastorage system. Hence, we have found pattern of tilt servo control in holographic datastorage system through fuzzy system. Fuzzy rules were generated by subtractive clustering algorithm for controlling tilt servo. Therefore, we control tilt servo using fuzzy rules in holographic datastorage system. Consequently, practical pattern of tilt servo control was found by intelligence algorithm in holographic datastorage system (Holographic datastorage, Springer, New York, 2000).

Recent advances in personal computer technology have made these low-cost platforms quite attractive for the implementation of radiological workstations, particularly in those cases where high throughput is not critical (such as clinical review workstations). In light of this observation, the objectives of this on-going project are threefold: (1) to identify the characteristics and performance specifications that are desirable in a radiological review workstation (within the UCSF PACS architecture), (2) to review current personal computer technology in terms of its ability to support such a workstation, and (3) to design and implement a prototype hardware and software architecture. In this paper, a thermally assisted magnetic recording (TAMR) head gimbal assembly (HGA) with an optical fiber and prism is proposed. The stiffness of a TAMR HGA is increased by an optical fiber and prism. Therefore, in this paper, operating shock analysis of a TAMR HGA considering the thermal effects during writing to record the data is numerically performed. Flying height (FH) analysis considering the thermal deformation by laser source also is investigated. As a result, judging from shock point of view, the shock characteristic of a TAMR HGA is better than that of conventional HGA. However, when considering the thermal effects during writing to record the data, the risk of contact for a TAMR HGA between media and slider is larger than that of conventional HGA. Hence, to solve these problems of a TAMR HGA, we should consider selection for material of media and TAMR slider, and design for head parts of TAMR slider.

This spectacular achievement is the culmination of years of research and development efforts in diverse fields. Recently we are witnessing the evolution of these communication systems towards optical networking. The advent of optical networking has been enabled by a suite of complementary optical subsystems that are pivotal to the operation and management of these networks. These optical microsystems directly interact with the optical signal and-through functionality afforded by design-are able to filter, switch, attenuate, and adapt the optical communication channels carried by the network. In this talk I will review a sampling of these enabling devices and focus on the MEMS technology required for its implementation.
