We present a single barrier system to generate pure valley-polarized current in monolayer graphene. A uniaxial strain is applied within the barrier region, which is delineated by localized magnetic field created by ferromagnetic stripes at the region's boundaries. We show that under the condition of matching magnetic field strength, strain potential, and Fermi energy, the transmitted current is composed of only one valley contribution. The desired valley current can transmit with zero reflection while the electrons from the other valley are totally reflected. Thus, the system generates pure valley-polarized current with maximum conductance. The chosen parameters of uniaxial strain and magnetic field are in the range of experimental feasibility, which suggests that the proposed scheme can be realized with current technology. In this paper, we introduce a bunch tracing system which is based on a bunch-by-bunch (BxB) measurement system in Hefei Light Source (HLS), and present the analysis of the experiment results. Using an in-phase gate signal and a double balance mixer to control an external trigger of ADC, we test the reliability of the BxB system. By this system, we can trace all marked bunches in a set time slot or in manual burst mode. We can record all bunches’ data during the injection, ramping, wiggler excitation and normal operation, and provide a powerful facility for machine study.

The purpose of this study is to make a comparison between the fluorescence emissions of fresh extracted human biopsies and fixed human biopsies, in order to evaluate the impact of fixation on autofluoresence signal. Our group is developing an endomicroscope to image brain tissues in-vivo, however to date, in order to validate our technology the easiest type of samples we can access are fixed samples. However, the fixation is still challenging. For that, we aim through this study to determine whether we should pursue to work on fixed samples or we should shift to work on fresh biopsies. data were collected on spectroscopic, lifetime measurement and fluorescence imaging set-ups with visible and two-photon excitations wavelengths. Five fresh and five fixed samples are involved in the experiment. Endogenous fluorescence of fixed biopsies were calculated. Experimental results reveal that at 405 nm and 810 nm, the fresh samples have an intensity of fluorescence two times higher than that of fixed samples. However, for each fluorophore and each excitation wavelength, the lifetime for fresh samples is shorter than that for fixed samples. Still, further studies and investigations involving the comparison between different samples are required to strengthen our findings.

In recent years, autonomous driving has attracted a vast amount of attention from both industry and academia, which has introduced large amounts of region-related data. In order to release the burden in core networks caused by the communication demands for such data, various in-vehicle storage (IVS) systems have been widely studied to bring contents closer to users. To cope with the mobility issue hindering the realization of IVS systems, in this paper, we propose a relay selection strategy (RSS) consisting of the relay map construction (RMC) algorithm and the relay pair matching (RPM) algorithm with the assistance of the vehicle route information. By considering both the potential transmission amount and the waiting time, the proposed RSS generates an overall optimal relay assignment for the IVS system. The performance gain of the proposed RSS compared with the baseline is evaluated by a realistic simulator in terms of the relay failure ratio, the retrieval throughput, and the RSU consumption ratio. Simulation results show that the proposed RSS achieves higher efficiency and robustness than the baseline.

With the advances in communication technologies and the high amount of data generated, collected, and stored, it becomes crucial to manage the quality of this data deluge in an efficient and cost-effective way. The storage, processing, privacy and analytics are the main keys challenging aspects of Big data that require quality evaluation and monitoring. Quality has been recognized by the Big data community as an essential facet of its maturity. Yet, it is a crucial practice that should be implemented at the earlier stages of its lifecycle and progressively applied across the other key processes. The earlier we incorporate quality the full benefit we can get from insights. In this paper, we first identify the key challenges that necessitates quality evaluation. We then survey, classify and discuss the most recent work on Big data management. Consequently, we propose an across-the-board quality management framework describing the key quality evaluation practices to be conducted through the different Big data stages. The framework can be used to leverage the quality management and to provide a roadmap for data scientists to better understand quality practices and highlight the importance of managing the quality. We finally, conclude the paper and point to some future research directions on quality of Big data.
