A major challenge in data center networks is to provide enough network capacity to meet the ever increasing demand of large-scale distributed computing. While existing proposals focus on adding more switches and links, which cost extra hardware and energy, we explore another dimension in which spare disk space at servers is used for caching data, so as to increase network throughput without additional hardware. Leveraging the Named data Networking (NDN) architecture and unique characteristics of data centers, we design a novel Content Driven Routing in datacenter Network (CDRDN) that enables universal caching in data center networks in an efficient and scalable way. First, rather than using switches for “on-path” caching like in native NDN, CDRDN uses the large storage space at servers to do “off-path” caching. Second, by taking advantage of data center's regular and hierarchical network topology, CDRDN switches are able to direct requests to nearby server caches even under high dynamics of caches. Third, given the vast amount of data in data centers, the full name-based routing table would be difficult to fit in switch's limited fast memory. CDRDN adopts a compound content and location routing to ensure packet delivery while benefiting from name-based routing as much as the switches can afford. CDRDN extends NDN's adaptive forwarding mechanism to deal with cache misses, link failures, and congestion without running routing protocols or cache exchange protocols. Our packet-level simulations show that CDRDN can almost double the network throughput compared with shortest-path routing under the same setting, and CDRDN can effectively deal with link failures using adaptive forwarding.

In the modern world, people's expectations and needs are automatically supportive and easy to use such as voice messages, playing music, or movies automatically which may reduce the manual operations mostly. In past decades technological advances such as machine learning and its application over many data like structured and unstructured are very much tedious. Whereas the operations based on non-categorical data, and categorical data are working rapidly using Natural Language Processing (NLP) comparatively, existing ones were not very productive. Each process on the internet is carrying an enormous amount of information which can lag in storage as well as performance. When any CRUD operations such as create, modify, update and delete are being analyzed one at a time, complex data such as unstructured and structured data are used in any field. In such a way the location analysis, social media data, health organization information, etc are categorized in natural language processing (NLP). The proposed work is organized as i) managing the huge amount of data in healthcare and log files created due to electronic health record management(EHR), ii) Unstructured data that are generated from all electronic equipment such as monitoring heartbeat, brain waves, etc that can be interpreted to classify using machine learning algorithms. To overcome the complications and medical records access inefficiency due to the complex structure of the dataset, Natural language processing uses the recurrent neural network along with the novel modified long and short-term memory unit (NMRNN-LSTM). Using the big data types such as structured, unstructured, and reinforcement kind of databases which handle images such as CTs, X-rays, MRI, raw texts, video streaming medical history to have effective systems and clinical records for enhancing the technological Medical care.

Remote sensing (RS) dedicated to the study of land surfaces benefits from more and more advanced sensors. However, the interpretation of RS data is often is often inaccurate due to the complexity of the observed land surfaces. Therefore, RS models, in particular physical models, that simulate RS observations of the three-dimensional (3D) landscapes are critical to correctly interpret RS data. DART is one of the most comprehensive 3D models of Earthatmosphere optical radiative transfer (RT), from ultraviolet (UV) to thermal infrared (TIR). It simulates the optical signal of proximal, aerial and satellite imaging spectrometers and laser scanners, the 3D RB and solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) signal, for any urban or natural landscape and any experimental or instrument configuration. It is freely available for research and teaching activities (***). After illustrating three significant sources of inaccuracy in RS interpretation, five recent DART advances are presented: RT in the atmosphere and topography, fast RS image simulation of large landscapes, SIF modelling, and satellite image inversion.

Convex and concave nano-pyramid arrays (NPAs) with an areal bit density of 64.5 Gbits/in/sup 2/ has been demonstrated by means of scanning probe lithography (SPL) and wet etching on the [100]-orientation silicon wafer. First, we investigated the use of a contact-mode atomic force microscope (AFM) in the generation of oxide patterns on silicon [100] surfaces. Subsequently, utilizing the oxide pattern as Si etching masks, the Si substrate was dipped in aqueous KOH solution, where un-oxidized regions were selectively etched by aqueous KOH orientation-dependent etching (ODE). Using this simple process, 20 nm convex NPAs with 100 nm pitch can be fabricated successfully. Similarly, about 2 nm concave NPAs with 100 nm were obtained after the oxidized samples were dipped in aqueous HF solution, the oxide regions were selectively etched away. To demonstrate the capability of this technology, we have showed an AFM micrograph of the letters "TLS". These patterns correspond to an ultrahigh data-storage density of about 64.5 Gbits/in/sup 2/, more than 20 times increase in areal density compared to conventional optical recording. We also demonstrated that the minimum size of the pyramids and the minimum pitch could be easily controlled by the apex size of the pyramid, that is, the size of the oxidized region by AFM-based field-induced oxidation. The results indicated that this technique has potential to provide a pathway to the higher densities that will be needed in the decades ahead. Also, the influenced parameters of oxide pattern and the influence of wet etching on etching rate and shape of etched structure will be discussed.

As the white light-emitting diodes（LEDs） are becoming widespread in commercial lighting applications, the researches on using these white LEDs to communication without affecting the lighting function is garnering increasing attention. In this paper, we propose and implement an indoor visible light communication（Indoor VLC） system in which all the components are off-the-shelf. It achieves a data rate of 13 Mbit/s with BER <3.8 × 10 over the distance of 140 cm. The demonstration result shows the system can be simple adopted in much sceneries and is desirable in practical applications.

In this article, we will consider ways to reduce your electricity bill without you having to do anything. This is achieved through the use of an on-site storage array that conserves low-cost energy for use when costs are high, and an intelligent charging system called SmartCharge. Masu. The algorithms used in SmartCharge determine when your home's power needs to be transferred between the grid and the battery array, saving you energy costs. This program uses predictive models that you create to predict future demand using statistical machine learning techniques. We evaluate SmartCharge in simulations using real household data to measure its ability to minimize charges under a variety of conditions. Currently, savings are typically 10% to 15%, but you can expect your savings to increase linearly as electricity prices rise. He also found that only 22% of the 465 apartments had SmartCharge installed, resulting in a 20% increase in overall peak demand. Finally, find out how much it costs to configure and set up SmartCharge. We estimate that with advances in batteries and expected increases in electricity prices, the typical home could pay for itself over the next few years.

Current need to the development of advanced 28nm and beyond OTP (One-time-Programmable) nonvolatile memory is limited by the compatibility with advanced nodes with particular high-k metal-gate gate stack feature. On the other hand, there is a strong demand for future use in IoT and AI in security applications. In this talk, we will provide a solution on how to develop a unique structure of OTP for the above purpose. A 4kb macro of One Time Programming (OTP) memory, implemented by a new breakdown, named dielectric fuse (dFuse) breakdown, will be demonstrated which is constructed on a foundry pure logic 28nm HKMG CMOS platform. The feature size of a unit cell is 1.5T per cell with 7.5F 2 . The experimental results show that dFuse macro exhibits high programming (PGM) speed of 100ns at 4V, read time smaller than 10ns at 0.75V, and excellent data retention under one-month baking at 150°C. More importantly, the program voltage is weakly dependent on the environmental temperature, suitable for automotive applications. This OTP is also expected to be scalable to advanced technology node such as FinFET and provides an ideal and reliable solution for the storage purpose in IoT and 5G era. In particular, it has great potential for embedded applications in MCU, e.g., automotive applications.

The fifteen papers in this special issue focus on ultra low loss planar waveguides and the applications. Ultra-low loss optical planar waveguide technology is a critical research area driven by the need to improve energy efficiency and advance the power handling capability, performance, function and complexity of photonic integrated circuits and systems-on-chip. An increasing number of applications require lower planar waveguides losses and advances in materials, waveguide design, processing techniques and monolithic and heterogeneous integration. Low loss operation from the visible to the infrared and passive and active waveguide structures as well as linear and non-linear optical devices are needed. Examples of applications driving these advancements include data-communications, bio-sensing, positioning and navigation, low noise microwave synthesizers, spectroscopy, RF signal processing, quantum communication, and atomic clocks. The special issue comes at an important stage in low loss waveguides and photonic integration and the purpose is to demonstrate the current state-of-the-art in the area of this technology and highlight recent progress and trends to lower waveguide loss, as the key element to realize new functions and their potential applications.

Perceptual Mapping-Based Image Tamper Detection and Recovery Algorithm

The importance of digital image authentication has grown in the last decade particularly with the widespread availability of digital media and image manipulation tools. As a result, different techniques were developed to detect fraudulent alterations in digital images and restore the original data. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed to authenticate images by hiding a copy of the approximation band in the original image. The approximation band is hidden by embedding it inside the image pixels. The intensity of the hiding was decided using a perceptual map that simulates the human vision system and adds more intensity in areas where the human eye cannot recognize changes. The perceptual map consists of three parts, luminance mask, texture mask, and edge detection mask. Results show a high ability to blindly recover images after different attacks such as removing and blocking attacks. At the same time, the structure similarity index of resultant images was higher than 0.99 for all tested images.

In the present work developed X-ray digital portable scanner operating in "quantum" imaging mode with improved dynamic range in contrast of the observed X-ray images is demonstrated Detection unit is based on semi-insulating GaAs strip line detectors with pitch 0.25 mm and absorption length of strip 1.25 mm with detection efficiency over 60 % for detection of 60 keV photons at a bias of 200 V Readout electronics consists of 480 channels dc coupled with detectors. Scanned area has dimensions 12x15 cm 2 . Collected data are used for creation of X-ray "quantum" images of selected test objects using the developed imaging software.
