Spectral resolution is crucial for achieving precise and high-quality imaging and analysis in imaging systems. Coded aperture correlation holography system face challenges in distinguishing objects at different wavelengths due to their limited spectral resolution. This paper presents a method that combines Bessel beams with a lens phase mask to encode an object's spatial and spectral information into a hologram. Reconstruction is achieved by cross-correlating with the point spread hologram for each wavelength, enabling precise imaging under multi-wavelength conditions. Simulation results show that this method only requires recording a single object hologram at the same wavelength, eliminating the need for multiple recordings. It also offers high spectral sensitivity and spectral resolution. This method is expected to further advance the application of spectral imaging technology in fields such as high-resolution imaging and microscopic endoscopy. © 2024 SPIE.

Automated production line technology is of great significance for the development of intelligent manufacturing in China, and is an important means and approach to promote the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry and achieve intelligent manufacturing. The automatic processing devices is an important component of an automated production line. It plays an important role in improving production efficiency, optimizing production processes, reducing labor costs, improving product quality, and promoting industrial upgrading. In this paper, a design of automatic processing device is introduced, and the selection and design of processing table mechanism, processing stamping mechanism, linear guide rail mechanism, pneumatic fingers, cylinder mechanism, pneumatic circuit design and debugging methods, PLC control work flow chart design are described in detail. The device has the characteristics of high automation, stable operation, high precision and easy control. It can accurately and efficiently complete the specific processing of materials, and has a certain reference value for the design of automatic production line. © 2024 SPIE.

Most existing medical image fusion methods, which are based on deep learning achieve satisfactory results by using complex network architectures and stacking numerous modules. However, these methods often overlook the application scenarios of multimodal medical image fusion. The complex model structure and large parameter load make deployment on mobile devices extremely challenging. Moreover, it is unreasonable to consume substantial computational resources at the low-level image processing stage if the method is to be applied to downstream computational tasks. We have innovatively designed a lightweight multi-branch feature fusion network for multimodal medical image fusion. This method has a lower parameter count and extremely fast forward inference speed. This is due to our designed multi-branch feature channel segmentation method, which divide-and-conquer feature extraction with different receptive fields. We also use a channel attention mechanism based on contrast awareness to fuse and reduce the dimensionality of the feature maps, preserving ample source image information while reducing computational load. Finally, the fusion image reconstruction is completed through a sliding window attention mechanism combined with long-range feature dependencies. © 2024 SPIE.

In the dual-phase grating system of X-ray phase-contrast imaging, the reduction in structural requirements for the absorption grating relaxes the constraints on its aspect ratio and period, thereby broadening the applicability of X-ray phase-contrast imaging techniques in a wider market. Traditionally, the extraction of phase-contrast information primarily relies on phase-stepping methods or Fourier transform algorithms, which often introduce artifacts and blurring into the images. To achieve higher quality image restoration, this study introduces generative adversarial networks (GANs) for high-quality image reconstruction. Our approach uses ideal images as labels and images containing object stripe information as inputs, utilizing GANs for feature learning to facilitate the transformation from object stripe images to high-quality phase-contrast images. The network also employs transfer learning to process previously unseen object stripe images and generate corresponding phase-contrast images. This technique not only significantly enhances image resolution but also substantially reduces artifacts and blurring in the image processing, paving the way for high-precision demands in medical diagnostics and industrial inspection. © 2024 SPIE.

The use of electro-optical imaging system for commercial, military, or surveillance missions, as well as space scientific missions, dates back to the first successful operation aboard the US Explorer-6 spacecraft, which was the first spacecraft to capture low-resolution images of the Earth's surface, and the Luna-3 space probe, which was the first spacecraft to send images of the lunar far side, in 1959. The technology underlying EO system have evolved over time, with advances in optics, electronics, and materials science leading to the development of more sophisticated and capable imaging sensors. Furthermore, the technological advances in sensors, optics, mechanics, material, signal and image processing algorithms have allowed EO payloads to become smaller, lighter, and more efficient while still providing high-quality imagery. Over 840 small spacecraft weighing less than 500 kg were launched, with 80% in the constellation segment and 20% as monolithic satellites (i.e., single spacecraft equipped with an electro-optical imaging instrument launched into space for various missions). In this paper, the electro-optical imaging systems of these spacecraft were reviewed using data from a variety of sources, including peer-reviewed journal publications, conference proceedings, mission webpages, and other publicly available satellite databases. Furthermore, the technological and commercial expansion of small spacecraft (<500 kg) equipped with electro-optical imaging systems, as well as EO-COTS parametric performance values such as GSD, spectral range, field of view, and sensor type, are discussed through 2023, divided by spacecraft type: SSO satellites, Small spacecraft constellation, Deep space spacecraft, and EO commercialization.

As a new type of device discovered in recent years, memristors have many advantages such as non-volatile and multi value storage. With the improvement of research on their preparation, characterization, and testing, memristors have broad application prospects in non-volatile memory, computing/storage fusion architecture computing systems, new neural computing systems, and other fields, and are highly likely to change the physical basis of existing IT technology. Accurate weight control is the key to the application of memristors, but there are still some technical difficulties that are difficult to overcome in current research, such as the incomplete understanding of the conduction mechanism of memristors, the coexistence of multiple conduction mechanisms and their mutual transformation, which to some extent limit the large-scale practical application of memristors. Therefore, this article focuses on the characteristics of memristors and designs a gate voltage feedback memristor weight precise control system using Moku: Go, a universal instrument. The system is controlled through a GUI interface and some devices are selected for testing in the prepared TiN/TaOx/HfOx/TiN memristor 1T1R array. The final test results show that the system achieves fast and accurate weight control. © 2024 SPIE.

Recently, online teaching and learning have seen a notable uptrend in adoption, subsequently increasing interest in conducting online assessments. The limitation of remote online assessments lies in the challenge of supervising the individual being assessed. For this reason, many consider human supervision a superior method for maintaining the integrity of assessments. This paper introduces algorithm-driven techniques for the automated supervision of online assessment-takers by analysing system processes on their devices and conducting random photographic monitoring. These techniques, along with their associated algorithms, have been encapsulated into a proof of concept tool. The approach aims to deter assessment-takers from accessing unauthorised files on their devices during assessments and to instil a sense of being monitored. The system is built around two primary components: one that monitors process activity and another that analyses images captured through the assessment-taker's device webcam. Data collected through these methods are further analysed using facial recognition and additional algorithms to detect behaviours potentially indicative of cheating during the assessment. Initial testing of the proposed tool achieved a 96.3% accuracy rate in image analysis for identifying cheating behaviour. Moreover, university lecturers' evaluations strongly support the tool's potential to deter cheating, its effectiveness in detection, and its role in maintaining the integrity of online assessments. Future research is recommended to address the challenges identified with the proof of concept tool, with the objective of enhancing both the accuracy and the overall effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

information transmission through light has attained significant advancements in the fields of both optical fiber communication (OFC) and optical wireless communication (OWC) systems. These advancements have been examined by numerous researchers by employing pioneering modulation schemes, adaptive optics, advanced signal processing algorithms, advancement in materials, and employing sophisticated network architectures for wide variety of applications such as: military;defense;healthcare;satellite;internet of things;and telecommunications. However, the primary factors which affecting the OFC systems are signal attenuation, dispersion, reliability, robustness, and security even though there exists a predominant development. In addition, atmospheric attenuation (due to absorption and scattering), turbulences, climate conditions (fog, rain, snow, dense fog etc,.), alignment and tracking, interference, range constraints, and security are the major challenges in OWC systems in spite of having advanced approaches from past few decades. Hence, these challenges are need to be addressed in order to achieve reliable and high-speed data transmission. This could be possible with the integration of OFC and OWC with emerging quantum communication technologies (quantum key distribution, quantum entanglement, quantum repeaters, quantum sensing, and quantum secured OWC links). Therefore, this work presents the recent advancements in the fields of OFC and OWC systems with the state-of-art-of techniques and approaches. The primary research challenges related to security, speed, range, capacity and adaptability of both OWC and OFC are outlined. In addition, the possible integration of these systems with quantum communication technologies and the recent progression have been outlined. Finally, the possibility of future research direction towards the quantum OFC, quantum OWC have been discussed for ensuring and revealing the full potential of quantum enhanced optical communication systems.

False Data Injection Attacks (FDIAs) are a common security threat to power systems, where an attacker injects false data into the system to interfere with its normal operation. Most of the current research on false data injection attack detection has been conducted in the physical grid environment, while relatively little research has been conducted on new and advanced sensing and measurement technologies to achieve the efficient and smooth operation of smart grids. In this paper, we first provide a comprehensive understanding of FDIAs and investigate the incidents and impacts of FDIA on power systems worldwide. By searching the literature, the existing detection methods for FDIAs are collated, and it is found that most of the existing detection methods use rules or statistical models, which are vulnerable to deception by attackers. Secondly, CNN is used to reduce the dimensionality and extract the spatial features of the high-dimensional measurement information of the power system in the smart grid, and then combined with BiGRU to fully explore the time series features in the information, thus proposing a CNN-BiGRU based detection method of FDIAs in smart grids, and then detecting the measurement information input model of power system and classifying it. This paper also conducts comparison experiments with three commonly used algorithms, CNN, RNN and MLP, and obtains that the research in this paper has high accuracy and certain feasibility. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.
