In the last few years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has become important part of our lives and its influence is expected to exponentially increase in the next years. Computer systems and applications are improve day by day and with the advancement in such area it give birth to new cyber-attacks. Man in the Middle attacks (MITM) are one of those attacks. An attack where an outsider or third party enters in between two online users, where both of the users are unaware of it. Mainly it is knows as a protocol to an unauthorized user within the system who can access as well as change the information of the system without leaving any trace to the existing users. Cloud, edge and fog computing added more flavors in terms of better throughput and low latency in ease of accessing data. Edge computing refers to a distributed open platform which helps off-loading tasks and processing of cloud at edge of the network. The edge serves as a bridge between the digital and physical worlds making gateways, systems and services smart and efficient. Due to the exponential growth of IoT produced data, its complexity is also expected to increase and raises need for innovation for improved security in Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) environment. This research is conducted to propose a lightweight Blockchain solution using private/public keys and employing sharding for off-loading computation intensive tasks at MEC. Inter-Planetary File System (IPFS) database has been used to offload computational task from edge servers. Proposed technique is implemented using Java Script and *** and simulated through Visual Studio Code and results are compared with other lightweight encryption algorithms proposed for IoT. © 2023 SPIE.

Obtaining the accurate attitudes of vehicle is of great importance for safe operation and automatic driving. This paper researches a vehicle attitudes measurement method where the low-cost MEMS IMU devices are used, and proposes an improved attitudes measurement algorithm based on Mahony Complementary Filter. According to IRI (International Roughness Index) measured in real-time, the complementary filter coefficients are adjusted adaptively to achieve the purpose of high-precision measurement under different road conditions. The experimental verification on a self-developed prototype vehicle model indicates that the proposed method has better performance than other traditional methods on moving vehicle attitudes measurement.

An integrated computerized locking mechanism is vital for upholding the safety of train movements within railway networks. As computer technology progresses swiftly, conventional locking systems are encountering a multitude of difficulties, with the identification and processing of visual interface data being a key challenge. Furthermore, the pace of technological innovation has led to an array of other obstacles for these systems to surmount. The deployment of cutting-edge technologies, including AI and machine learning, has markedly enhanced the functionality and security of these mechanisms. Anticipatedly, the future will witness the development of even more sophisticated and secure railway traffic management systems. These evolving technologies serve as formidable instruments in tackling the prevailing issues and challenges. Specifically, the computerized interface locking system is indispensable in guaranteeing the safe running of trains within railway *** paper applies the image processing capability of OpenCV to preprocess and extract characteristics from the interlocking interface image. Subsequently, the enhanced clustering algorithm of RV-DBSCAN is utilized to identify the text of signaling equipment diagrams, followed by the implementation of the Paddle OCR (optical Character Recognition) machine learning algorithm to classify and identify the images. The recognition accuracy rate for information related to railway signaling equipment stands at 92.6%. This process offers a dependable approach for extracting and recognizing station information from computerized interlocking interfaces.

This paper presents an automated system for detecting the sag of overhead transmission lines using image processing. A camera, mounted centrally between two towers, is repositioned using stepper motors to ensure symmetrical alignment with the transmission line. By detecting the lowest point of the line in the image, the system estimates the sag through Bezier curve fitting and converts the pixel-based measurements into real-world dimensions. The proposed system demonstrates high precision and accuracy, providing a reliable method for sag measurement in transmission line monitoring.

Microbial $\mathbf{OD}_{\mathbf{600}}$ measurement is a crucial experimental technique in microbiological and molecular biological research, evaluating microbial growth by measuring optical density at 600 nm wavelength. While convenient, this method has limitations. For instance, different microbial species and growth stages may absorb light differently, potentially leading to biases when measuring multiple strains simultaneously. This paper presents an innovative parallel $\mathbf{OD}_{\mathbf{600}}$ detection system capable of simultaneously monitoring growth curves of multiple microbial strains. Our research integrates advanced optical systems, precise mechanical control, and artificial intelligence algorithms, not only improving the accuracy and efficiency of bacterial growth measurements but also achieving parallel processing and analysis of multiple samples. We discuss in detail the hardware design, software architecture, and core algorithms, with particular emphasis on the application of machine learning in multi-strain data analysis and prediction. Experimental results demonstrate that this system significantly outperforms traditional methods in measurement accuracy, automation level, multi-sample processing capability, and data analysis.

The study proposal proposes an innovative strategy for managing modern transport networks, with an emphasis on the coordinated use of analytics, real-time data processing, and dynamic decision-making utilizing stream data models. To create a solid infrastructure for real-time data analysis, it is required to use a diverse set of data sources, such as sensors, GPS devices, traffic cameras, and mobile application software. A strategy for reaching this goal is described below. The real-time system that integrates transportation models, artificial intelligence, and data mining is at the core of this strategy. In addition to monitoring and assessment, one of the key responsibilities of this system is to develop the transportation network. Without this framework as a foundation, the method would be worthless. This collaborative effort provides proactive traffic control, efficient route planning, and event prediction in real time. The application of machine learning in predictive analytics and traffic analysis, which together give solid traffic forecasts, prompts the creation of tactics that cut wait times and enhance productivity. Event detection algorithms are critical for ensuring commuter safety and reducing wait times in the event of an emergency. Using cloud-hosted data processing technologies, the idea manages massive amounts of real-time data. This is critical for data collection, processing, and storage methods. Finally, we believe that the development of an intelligent transportation networkone that can continually learn, adapt, and drive itselfwill result in less traffic, more safety, shorter travel times, and environmentally friendly legislation and practices. To address the ever-increasing demands placed on dynamic urban settings, it is believed that the technique developed would transform current transport networks into more responsive, user-friendly, and efficient systems. © 2023 IEEE.

When capturing images, traditional imaging devices can only record images with low dynamic range (LDR) and cannot capture scene information with high dynamic range (HDR) in the real world due to their own response characteristics. Therefore, high dynamic range imaging technology has developed rapidly and gradually become a research hotspot in the field of digital image processing The main problems of current multi-exposure images to generate HDR images include ghosting caused by camera shake and foreground objects moving, and information loss in overexposure and underexposure situations. To solve the ghost problem, the gradient direction histogram descriptor is used to process multi exposure images, and the brightness invariant motion estimation technology based on feature optical flow is used to generate high dynamic range images. The algorithm first selects the well exposed image as the reference image, and uses the gradient direction histogram descriptor which is robust to the illumination change to process the images with different exposure times,then uses the optical flow estimation algorithm to distort the input image to the reference image according to the corresponding relationship between image features,finally synthesizes the final HDR image according to the weight *** experimental results show that compared with the existing HDR algorithms, the proposed method has a certain improvement in performance.

Photonic reservoir computing (RC) enables us to introduce artificial neural networks (ANNs) as a deployable hardware-based processing unit beyond the von Neumann architecture. Its unique approach to consider only the output layer weights as adaptive, reduces training complexity and enables the use of ANNs in time-sensitive areas like optical communications. In this paper, we numerically investigate and evaluate the requirements of a photonic RC using an active silicon micro-ring resonator as a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) based reservoir system to compensate for transmission impairments such as chromatic dispersion and nonlinear effects occurring in optical transmission systems. We compare the performance of this RC with results from digital signal processing using Kramers-Kronig reception of distorted PAM-4 symbols from a 56 GBaud WDM transmission experiment over 100 km uncompensated SSMF.

Assistance systems play an important role in the proceeding transition of surface vessels towards highly automated operations. Particularly when navigating through congested areas like harbors, exact knowledge of distances to nearby obstacles is essential for collision avoidance. This paper applies a combined filtering and clustering approach in order to utilize 1D FMCW radar data for distance estimation to nearby obstacles in the harbor environment. The data processing aims at clearing the raw sensor data from unwanted signals caused by environmental influences like rain or waves and determines a reliable distance from the relevant signals. We evaluate our approach using sea trial data from a research vessel, comparing processed radar distances with a DGPS-based ground truth. The study assesses the performance of three density-based clustering algorithms-DBSCAN, HDBSCAN, and OPTICS-in this context. All of these algorithms show a good performance for processing the 1D FMCW data for our use case, enabling a reliable distance determination to a static obstacle. OPTICS performs slightly better in terms of eliminating disturbing signals than the remaining two algorithms. The processing times of all algorithms were found to be sufficient for online application of the proposed approach.
