In conjunction with data generated by intelligent machines, cognitive IoT uses cognitive computing technology and the actions these devices can accomplish. The Cognitive Internet of Things (CIoT) is seen as the new IoT is combined with mental and mutual frameworks to facilitate success and intelligence. This leading research area has recently emerged as intelligent sensing. Researchers examine the sensing data performance problems with Smarter technologies, in which people usually use smart gadgets, contribute training datasets towards the Cognitive Internet of things collected by sensors. Moreover, Cognitive Intent of Things (CIOT), shortcomings in the scope of sensing data, contribute to the loss of human life and civil instability. To answer this problem, we propose a new metric in this article, called the Quality of information Coverage (QIC), which will personify information distribution and data sensing incentives to leverage the QIC. In addition, a market-based compensation system is being developed to pledge the QIC. To produce optimum kickbacks for CIoT and news outlets, we evaluate the optimal business solution and examine an acceptable representation. Then, by detailed computations, the results of a competition reward system are studied. The findings suggest that the way the method of reward management hits the balance point with a greater QIC than most current systems. The QIC told a system in this work guarantees that, relative to existing algorithms, the sample variance number obtained datasets for specific regions decreases by approximately less than 40 to 55 percent since these data sets are calibrated. Compared to these non-QIC-Aware algorithms, the average sale price is Sensing proposed should be less than 17 to 18 percent. © 2021 IEEE.

Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) safety has always been a critical reason for hindering the development of magneticenabled wireless power transfer technology. People focus on the actual received energy at charging devices while paying attention to their health. Thus, we study this significant problem in this paper, and propose a universal safety guaranteed power-delivered-to-load (PDL) maximization scheme (called SafeGuard). Technically, we first utilize the off-the-shelf electromagnetic simulator to perform the EMR distribution analysis to ensure the universality of the method. Then, we innovatively introduce the concept of multiple importance sampling for achieving efficient EMR safety constraint extraction. Finally, we treat the proposed optimization problem as an optimal boundary point search problem from the perspective of space geometry, and devise a brand-new grid-based multi-constraint parallel processing algorithm to efficiently solve it. We implement a system prototype for SafeGuard, and conduct extensive experiments to evaluate it. The results indicate that our SafeGuard can obviously improve the achieved PDL by up to 1.75× compared with the state-of-the-art baseline while guaranteeing EMR safety. Furthermore, SafeGuard can accelerate the solution process by 29.12× compared with the traditional numerical method to satisfy the fast optimization requirement of wireless charging systems.

People's rising concerns about health have fueled research into high-performance biomedical devices and circuits, such as sensors and implantable systems on a chip. It is important for these biomedical devices to operate at the same low frequency to treat certain organs and diseases. Thus, the clock generator needs to be able to provide low frequency clock pulses with minimal size and high reliability. These constraints elevate power consumption and production cost within the circuit design to key parameters. One promising candidate is relaxation oscillator which has good on-chip compatibility, and superior frequency stability. This paper proposes a novel relaxation oscillator using closed-loop dual comparator. A frequency in the band of 50Hz to 2.5kHz can be generated by replacing the value of resistors and capacitor in all possible combinations. The simulation and experimental result confirm that closed-loop dual comparator-based relaxation oscillator provides low frequency with lower cost and more simplicity due to fewer components. © 2021 IEEE.

With the continuous improvement of the industry, the accompanying demand is also increasing, such as ultra-low latency data transmission or ultra-high reliability. Such scenarios are ubiquitous, ranging from the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), smart cities and so on. For these requirements, user equipment (UE) aggregation is a good technology candidate to reduce latency, enhance transmission reliability and improve data rate, through data duplication or data partition via aggregation nodes (ANs), which can be normal UEs. The motivation of such technology is device density increases and UE capability varies. Accordingly, ANs can be relay nodes or data processing devices for UEs with a weak channel quality or limited processing capability. This paper proposes an aggregation node optimization clustering (ANOC) algorithm with the aim of reducing transmission latency and energy consumption. In the meantime, the reliability of data transmission for UE outside the coverage can be improved. The main idea of the proposed algorithm is to cluster the UEs that need to be assisted and allocate appropriate ANs. Besides, according to the presented simulation results, the research work in this paper can provide an insight into the cooperation system for future Internet of Everything (IoE) networks.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to increase the demand for medical equipment with internet of things (IoMT) capabilities forcing doctors to diagnose and treat patients remotely. This has increased awareness of health, leading to a surge in purchasing of IoMT-capable medical equipment. However, medical data is sensitive and valuable on the dark web, making it vulnerable to cybercriminals. Due to limited storage and processing capabilities of network devices, system administrators struggle to enhance security measures. This work aims to investigate rapidly spreading attacks before they compromise wellness systems. Hierarchical federated learning is (HFL) proposed using a model built on Dew-cloud, which offers improved data privacy due to the increased availability of IoMT critical applications. Dew servers with distributed architecture and a cloud computing-backed backend implement hierarchical long-term memory (HLSTM) method. The implemented HFL-HLSTM method’s performance is evaluated using NSL-KDD dataset. Implemented method achieved better performance than the existing intrusion detection methods including MiTed, LS2DNN, and MetaCID and the metrics are 98.62% of f-measure, 99.53% of accuracy, 99.21% of precision, and 99.10% of recall.

The article considers a method for tracking an all-dielectric optical cable by determining the shortest distance from a sensitive optical fiber to a pulsed sound source using a system of distributed acoustic sensors. The characteristics of the Rayleigh scattering of an optical signal in a single-mode optical fiber were analyzed, which make it possible to judge the behavior of the phase and amplitude spectral characteristics of the acoustic signal in the sensitivity region of the optical fiber. Errors and limitations of methods for determining the shortest distance from an optical fiber to a source of a pulsed acoustic signal are determined by mathematical modeling. The simple triangulation algorithm is studied in the context of processing the system of distributed acoustic sensors' output data. The tracks of pulses induced by a pulsed acoustic source in the optical fiber of a distributed acoustic sensor are demonstrated. The possibilities and conditions for the application of this algorithm for the localization of a completely dielectric optical cable are determined.

The quality of wire bonding is an important factor in the manufacturing of various precision electronic components in semiconductor industry. The wire bonding defects, including high loop and low loop, determined by the bonding height information, inevitably affect the performance of the product. It is vital to measure height information quickly and accurately to reduce the failure rate in the manufacturing process. However, traditional measurement system often needs to move the target samples for a number of times. To address the key measurement problems, a three-dimensional (3D) optical measurement system is developed based on autostereoscopy technologies. A micro-lens array is used to divide the light emitted by the sample into different directions. The elemental images from different view angles contain original 3D information and is recorded by a high-resolution image sensor. On the basis of the multi-view stereo information contained in the image, the elemental images can be refocused into multi-focus images. The 3D information can be directly extracted from the multi-focus images through self-developed algorithms. Experiment results show that the system can complete the measurement in 2 seconds and reach a high measurement accuracy at a sub-micrometer level. This verifies the feasibility of the proposed measurement system which is efficient and accurate for 3D inspection of wire bonding. © 2021 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) applications have emerged as a critical component in improving people’s quality of life. The increasing volume of data generated by IoT devices, on the other hand, places a strain on the resources of traditional cloud data centres. This makes cloud data centres unable to meet the demands of IoT applications. Due to resource constraints and the massive connectivity of IoT devices, efficient task (incoming request) allocation is critical for service providers. We create a novel processing power-based task scheduling technique that employs a broker manager to distribute tasks and the process strategy across multiple devices. This is important in cloud technology because it enables organisations to effectively scale their processes. We use multithreading to parallelize processes and evaluate the performance of the proposed model using existing task allocation algorithms (i) round-robin, (ii) weighted round-robin, (iii) random allocation, (iv) genetic algorithm, and (v) dynamic algorithm. Our results show that when there are few tasks and one cluster has more processing capacity than the others, a weighted round-robin algorithm works well. The effectiveness of allocating based on weight shows no improvement in task completion time as task size increases. Using our proposed model, we show that the dynamic algorithm outperforms all other algorithms for task scheduling by 1.37 times for all task sizes.

In recent years, it had been an evolution in the sensors used by vision systems. Different technologies from RGB camera, IR-camera, LIDAR, RADAR, or sensor combinations can work in different spectrum bands. A new alternative to the vision system is the single-pixel camera (SPC), an architecture based on the compressive sensing theory for 2D reconstruction images. SPC's feature is used as the single detector that measures the linear combinations of pixels through patterns projection of structured light over the object that would like to photograph instead of using an array of pixels as in RGB sensors or cameras. These architectures offer the advantage that they can be adapted to different spectrum bands as near-infrared (NIR), and could operate in scenarios with low visibility or under rain, mist, or fog conditions. Currently, there is little information that discusses the problem of spatial resolution in SPC in scattering conditions for which we defined a methodology to evaluate the spatial resolution SPC's in terms of point spread function (PSF), and we analyzed how it affected the spatial resolution with the distance and under foggy conditions, for an SPC with active illumination at the wavelength at 1550 nm. © 2022 IEEE.

Malaria is an infectious disease, highly prevalent in world regions with lacking healthcare conditions. Nowadays, malaria diagnostic methods in these endemic regions are mainly based on microscopy and rapid diagnostic tests by immunochromatographic assays. Flere, it is presented an optical diagnostic method, based on reflectance spectrophotometry, through hemozoin (Hz) quantification, towards an innovative non-invasive malaria diagnostic device. Therefore, a set of optical filters, with high transmittance and low full width at half maximum (FWHM) at specific wavelengths, is designed for being integrated in the device. These allow the full reconstruction of the optical reflectance spectrum, able to distinguish between healthy and infected samples, with a detection limit up to 12.5 parasites/mu l of red blood cells. This work presents the design, performance simulation, and optimization of 16 highly selective narrow band-pass optical filters, based on multilayer stacks of SiO2/TiO2 thin films. The optical properties of the thin films layer materials, in particular the refractive indexes, are the main focus in this study. Three different reflective indexes were evaluated and the results showed that, for all the simulated conditions, each filter is sensitive to a single wavelength with a FWHM < 25 nm and peak transmittance intensity > 90%, but slight variations were observed for the different refractive indexes. The simulation results proved that these 16 optical filters designs are extremely sensitive to the material properties, although they are the best option regarding the required optical response, assuring feasibility and being adequate for the fabrication process.
