In the dual-phase grating system of X-ray phase-contrast imaging, the reduction in structural requirements for the absorption grating relaxes the constraints on its aspect ratio and period, thereby broadening the applicability of X-ray phase-contrast imaging techniques in a wider market. Traditionally, the extraction of phase-contrast information primarily relies on phase-stepping methods or Fourier transform algorithms, which often introduce artifacts and blurring into the images. To achieve higher quality image restoration, this study introduces generative adversarial networks (GANs) for high-quality image reconstruction. Our approach uses ideal images as labels and images containing object stripe information as inputs, utilizing GANs for feature learning to facilitate the transformation from object stripe images to high-quality phase-contrast images. The network also employs transfer learning to process previously unseen object stripe images and generate corresponding phase-contrast images. This technique not only significantly enhances image resolution but also substantially reduces artifacts and blurring in the image processing, paving the way for high-precision demands in medical diagnostics and industrial inspection. © 2024 SPIE.

This article presents an algorithm for determining reference brightness correction coefficients to improve image quality. The algorithm utilizes a combination of statistical analysis and image processing techniques to identify and correct brightness discrepancies in digital images. By establishing a robust and efficient method for calculating these coefficients, the algorithm aims to enhance the overall visual fidelity of images across various applications, such as photography, medical imaging, and remote sensing. The proposed algorithm demonstrates its effectiveness through experimental results and comparisons with existing methods, highlighting its potential for practical implementation in image processing workflows. In the world, the filtering of digital images by the convolution method with a pulse characteristic in the spectral region scientific research is being conducted to improve the quality level of digital television images, methods for modeling filtration processes and highly efficient control systems in a number of priority areas, including: on the formation of mathematical models of filtration processes, improving the methods of wavelet, Fourier, Haar, Walsh-Hadamard, Karhunen-Loev in increasing the clarity and brightness of images based on linear and nonlinear differential equations;creation of methods for eliminating additive, pulsed and adaptive-Gaussian types of noise in images using additive and adaptive filtering;methods of algorithms and software for introducing intra-frame and interframe image transformations;methods of adaptive brightness system control using the Chebyshev matrix series;methods of gradient, static and Laplace methods for image segmentation and dividing it into contours;formation of criteria and conditions for evaluating image quality. Remote sensing photographs have a wealth of information, and object detection methods are crucial in this. On mobile and embedded platforms, deep learning-based target identification algorithms are challenging to implement. Additionally, the issues of delayed target detection and poor accuracy of small target detection for remote sensing photos must be resolved immediately. To address these issues, we provide EM2-YOLOv4, a simple method for recognizing remote sensing images. MobileNetv2 acts as the backbone network to reduce model complexity, while depth-separable convolution enhances detection speed. Additionally, we introduce a feature enhancement module and an Efficient Channel Attention (ECA) module to improve model accuracy. To address the issue of unequal assignment of positive and negative samples, we incorporate Focal Loss into the loss function. Experimental demonstrate that the model can perform detection at 45 frames per second with an average accuracy of 94.11%. The model has been significantly reduced, as seen by the fact that it is only 48 MB in size, but it still maintains good detection accuracy and accelerates detection. The model is ideal for usage on embedded devices because of this feature. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

A broad range of computer vision studies have been conducted on the recognition of identity documents using mobile devices. A portfolio of techniques and algorithms for solving problems like face recognition, document detection and correction, text field recognition, and so on has been developed, and the lack of data sets has become a critical challenge. The electronic ID card has been commonly used to verify or recognize an individual since its discovery in 2011. Take note of several issues, such as high requirements for detecting the id-card field and challenges recognizing the data in the id-card. In this research, we realized an approach for identifying electronic ID cards using image detection and optical Character Recognition (OCR). This paper provides a short outline of how banking institutions and other fintech companies utilize highly developed OCR tools to automate their processes, enhancing not just service quality, as well as the precision, speed, and protection of their transaction data. As an outcome of our image processing and OCR techniques, we can achieve 99 percent ID detection. This research was based on the interface of a mobile application, such as those owned by one of Kazakhstan's banks. © 2022 IEEE.

Wearable technology is having a profound impact in healthcare applications. In this context, one of the main goals of current wearable systems is to provide new devices capable of delivering a greater amount of more precise information. Amongst the different applications, physiological continuous monitoring is becoming one of the most wanted features. In fact, most of the commercially and research grade wearable systems include cardiac activity acquisition, which is generally performed by means of photoplethysmography sensors (PPG). These optical-based sensors present different challenges related to the prevailing of a good signal quality. Thus, in case of dealing with digital processing algorithms which are responsible for extracting different features from such signal, this fact can lead to erroneous results. On this basis, this paper presents an ongoing work towards the design of an interval type-II fuzzy-based system for the PPG signal quality assessment. Moreover, this initial proposed system is implemented into a constrained 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 system-on-chip. Specifically, the system uses a reduced set of features together with a low complexity fuzzy rule base Mamdani inference model, and is based on a non-overlapping 3-second signal processing window. Results show that the system achieved overall accuracy of 94.84%. The proposed system has great potential for integrating accurate and reliable continuous health monitoring systems into constrained edge devices.

To meet the input voltage requirement of onboard chips in intelligent accounting devices, Utilizing the STM32 series microcontroller as the central control unit, a novel integrated Buck circuit voltage regulator applying PID control has been developed, where voltage monitoring and temperature detection are included. To simplify the driving circuit, we shift the switching of the Buck circuit;the use of operational amplifier circuits for voltage sampling and scaling, and the subsequent voltage tracking, makes the feedback signal more stable and not be disturbed. Designed interrupt program for microcontroller based on PID control algorithm, and programs to handle feedback voltage and PID control are included. The finalized voltage stabilization circuit design successfully achieves reliable voltage output, over-temperature shutdown circuitry, and alarm functionality. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Machine vision and computer image processing technologies are widely used in the metallurgical industry, especially in recognizing and analyzing defects in glass. High surfaces of planer surface and quality in the glass and metal manufacturing sector primarily require automated and performance visual detection, and inspection systems and algorithms are constantly improving. This article, therefore, seeks to comprehensively recognize and analyze glass subsurface defects through the integration of image processing technologies and machine vision. According to the algorithm's properties and the image features typified in the process, the defects of identified glass components are primarily classified based on determining the cause and the optical features of characteristics exhibited. Given the nature of varied and detected effects determined mainly by the classifiers, an improved accuracy level was notable, and a reduction of the computational complexity was evident following the use of machine vision and image processing technologies.

Iterative shrinkage thresholding algorithm (ISTA), fast ISTA (FISTA) and alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) based algorithm are well known convex optimization algorithms based on proximal splitting for ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 optimization problem in compressed sensing. In our previous study, aiming at the implementation with optical analog devices, we have proposed constant inertial FISTA (CIFISTA) and an approximated ADMM based algorithm, which do not require the operation of division. In this paper, we consider to realize those algorithms with optical analog devices and show concrete configurations of analog circuits using optical devices. We have conducted computer experiments to evaluate the performance of each algorithm, taking into account the effects of the additive noise introduced by optical amplifiers assuming the implementation using optical devices for common optical fiber communications systems. From the numerical results, it has been confirmed that both the proposed CIFISTA and the approximated ADMM based algorithm can achieve faster convergence than ISTA, while the degradation of the steady state mean squared error (MSE) due to the circuit noise is much smaller than that of the conventional ADMM algorithm.

optical Analog-to-Digital Converters (OADC) are devices that directly convert analog optical signals into digital signals. This research has designed an embedded high-speed data acquisition system for OADC using Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). The main control chip utilizes the Xilinx Virtex UltraScale series VU9P FPGA, employs GTY IP cores for high-speed data reception, and implements algorithms for high-speed serial data input alignment. The Adsantec ANST7122-KMA flash ADC chip is used to perform the analog-to-digital conversion function. The acquired data is stored in Block RAM resources of FPGA and then uploaded to the host computer via the UART serial port. The data processing system board can synchronously collect signals from five channels. The experimental results show that the system can realize 10GSps data sampling with a sampling accuracy of 4.3 bit@1.1GHz. and continuously sample 2 16 points. The system integrates data acquisition, data processing, and data transmission onto a single board, offering an architecture with high integration and portability.

In the context of rapid technological advancements, progress in chip manufacturing technology is propelling electronic devices toward miniaturization and high efficiency at an unprecedented pace. The fundamental principles of quantum mechanics are beginning to play a crucial role in modern electronic devices, providing the foundation for new technological methods and research directions. optical quantum signal processing, as an important branch of quantum technology, utilizes the quantum properties of photons for information processing and transmission, offering advantages such as high bandwidth, low noise, and strong resistance to interference. However, current optical quantum measurement and control instruments face significant challenges in terms of real-time performance and programming complexity, resulting in reduced data processing efficiency and significantly increased development costs. This study implements a real-time processing algorithm for optical quantum signals on a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The algorithm possesses advantages of real-time performance, low power consumption, and high integration. It allows for rapid functionality switching and efficient optical quantum signal processing. The design specifically aims to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio, significantly improving measurement accuracy and reliability. Experimental results indicate that this method substantially enhances the measurement precision and signal-to-noise ratio of optical quantum signals. This research provides an efficient and reliable new method for optical quantum signal processing, laying a solid foundation for further studies in quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum precision measurement.
