The main purpose of the work described in this paper concerns the development of a platform dedicated to sea surveillance, capable of detecting and identifying illegal maritime traffic. This platform results from the cascade implementation of several image processing algorithms that take as input Radar or optical maps captured by satelliteborne sensors. More in detail, the processing chain is dedicated to (i) the detection of vessel targets in the input map, (ii) the refined estimation of the vessel most descriptive geometrical features and, finally, (iii) the estimation of the kinematic status of the vessel. This platform will represent a new tool for combating unauthorized fishing, irregular migration and related smuggling activities.

The transformation of the development of the Arctic is due to modern robotic systems. The use of unmanned vehicles in many industries in the Arctic provides an array of photo and video information. Accuracy of image analysis and pattern recognition is enhanced by image preprocessing. However, the existing binarization algorithms are not universal for images with different distortions and loss of information. The accuracy of binarization algorithms depends on many factors, such as shadows, uneven lighting, low contrast, noise, etc. Images with different characteristics of light and noise are simulated in order to model various lighting conditions on information from digital cameras of robotic systems. The paper investigates global and adaptive image binarization algorithms. The binarized images were obtained using these algorithms and the results of binarized images recognition are compared by an optical character recognition system. An analysis of the comparison results showed that for images made in poor lighting conditions or images with low contrast, or images with high noise levels, adaptive binarization algorithms are better suited. However, in most cases it is not possible to obtain fully correctly recognized *** paper proposes a new binarization method based on artificial neural networks. The process of creating an artificial neural network is shown, include the parameters for determining the class of a pixel, the adjustment of weights, the architecture of an artificial neural network. A comparison of the proposed artificial neural network with existing image binarization algorithms demonstrate that in most cases the artificial neural network has the result of image processing at the level of adaptive algorithms or higher. The proposed method of images binarization based on the image color characteristics analysis allows to solve image recognition tasks by robotized systems. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The authors studied the task of processing the information from the optical system when the UAV is landing on a moving unmanned vehicle. Generally, color image analysis algorithms are very accurate, but they cannot work in real time or need to enhance the performance of professional computers. A compact high-speed color image recognition algorithm is developed basing on a pre-processing method-a "downsample" function for decimation; HSV model; Otsu's method - an algorithm for calculating the binary threshold of grayscale images, and method for isolating connected components-Two-Pass method. The simulation results demonstrated the operating capability and high enough efficiency of the developed algorithm. It is possible to achieve a significant reduction in the implementation time of the algorithm by using the decimation function and the HSV model.

although, sound systems are obtainable for outdoor use, battery-powered audio devices are what is mostly found in today's portable music. Using a class D Audio amplifier, it is possible to couple a Bluetooth device with the amplifier, coming up with a system that can receive and process audio signals through Bluetooth connection. With every communication system, Noise is always considered as unwanted signal. The signal to noise ratio statistical characteristics in practical application can't be learned or are usually unknown so that we barely design fix coefficient digital filter in insinuation to the noise problem in the Bluetooth stereo audio *** “on-line” FIR or IIR filter weights of active noise and vibration control systems of an adaptive algorithm used for optimizing is basically derived from adaptive algorithms used in systems such as telescope adaptive optics and telephone echo-cancellers to cancel unwanted” noise “optics and thus develop distant star *** this work an adaptive noise cancellation system is designed to minimize the noise in the Bluetooth stereo audio system. Using the least mean square (LMS) algorithm, the coefficient of the filter in the active noise cancellation system is altered in variation to noise signal characteristics, which in turn made the active noise system adaptive.

The ever-increasing need for the large-scale implementation of unmanned vehicles requires situational awareness of such vehicles. In this case two general directions are possible. The first: simplification and fixing situations with vehicles movements. The second: improving the onboard control system and its information component. We focus on the second direction in our study. information support of vehicles, especially systems of technical vision, requires ever-increasing computing resources and intelligent technologies in algorithmic support. The experience of our research shows that reconfigurable high-performance heterogeneous resources are the effective software and hardware tool for information support of autonomous vehicles Such devices combine sequentially parallel processing of visual data. In the process of developing such resources, we use a heterogeneous computer network based on the PCI express bus. The report describes the general scheme of such a network, considers hardware and software configurations for solving application task, gives the results of experiments to solve the issues of collecting and processing visual data, and discusses the prospects for the development of this approach.

In optical camera communication (OCC), LED panels are used to transmit visible light signal which will be received by cameras. The transmitted data is obtained through processing the captured images of LED panels. The first step in this process is to determine where the LED panels are in the image. Existing object detection algorithms are not originally designed for LED detection and thus is not effective for this task. In this study, based on distinct characteristics of LED, a simple and effective LED panel detection algorithm is proposed. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through simulations.

Image recognition has always been an important research topic in the field of pattern recognition. This article uses the printed character recognition of bills as the research background. Through the detailed analysis of the recognition process, some preprocessing algorithms are selected and implemented, including image enhancement, binarization, filtering, character cutting, skew correction, etc. Finally, transplant each algorithm to the simulation platform, mainly for BP algorithm, according to the characteristics of DSP, optimize from two aspects of compilation options and source code to meet the requirements of fast processing. Finally, the requirements of better recognition effect and fast processing speed are realized.

The data about the effect of image quality on accuracy of information parameters are presented. Studies on accuracy of measuring characteristics of objects in their images depending on image quality are described. Studies showed that accuracy of measurement algorithms improves with an increase in sample sizes of frames in the optoelectronic system (OES). Image quality is improved by processing the frame samples with algorithms for increasing resolution and reducing noise levels, both in single-point and multi-position OESs based on digital cameras with matrix photodetectors. The maximum effect of an increase in information content of the image and accuracy of measuring algorithms is determined by variations in the pixel structure of each image in the region of brightness gradient boundaries. In the single-point OESs which ensure high quality of optical images without noise factors and variations of other external parameters, the optimal number of frames in the OES is four. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Fake news is a type of news that contains deliberately incorrect information and is spread with malicious intent in fields that include and are not limited to politics, finance and entertainment. Fake news and misinformation are abundant these days due to increased access to the internet and social media websites and other sharing platforms. These can have harmful effects on society and its spread must be contained. The first step in containing the proliferation of fake news is to identify a piece of news as fake or real. The goal of our system is to train it with articles using reliable news sources using web mining techniques and subsequently analyze a piece of news using natural language processing and machine learning algorithms to classify it as fake or real.
